Was watching some old Maaneet scenes and came across one of my favourite scenes. Reposting the scene and my analysis of it when I saw it first. Watch it first and read my take.

My analysis
Tum Se Hi sequence:
Aadhaa saa waadaa kabhi
sometimes half a promise -
Here Maan turns to see Geet before him, giving him a half apologetic look for not going through with her promise which prompts a similar response from him.
aadhe se zayadaa kabhi
sometimes more than a half
Here she bats her eyelids as if to say she will make up for her shortcomings.
ji chaahe kar luun is tarah wafaa kaa
this is how i want to make with you
- Here she beckons him to follow her with a brief nod of her head and he follows.
chhode na chhuute kabhi,
even if i want to leave, i can't leave you
- Here he looks around for her
tode na tuute kabhi
even if i try to break it, it is not breaking
jo dhaagaa tum se judd gayaa vafaa ka...
the bond of faith that is made with you
-Here he sees the three images of Geet - maybe to say she was with him, is with him and will always be with him, no matter what. Her misunderstanding never broke her bond with him.
main tera sarmaaya huun,
i have prospered because of you
jo bhi main bann paaya huun,
what ever i have become now
tum se hi,
tum se hi...
because of you
Here they symbolically show Geet growing in stature because of Maan. The second reflection is bigger than the first as Maan steps into the frame.
raaste mil jaate hain
i find the roads
This is another beautiful shot. Both Geet's and Maan's images meet in the mirror as Maan stands behind her as if to show the roads finally meet and he is there for her, always behind her to guard and protect her.
manzilein mil jaati hain
i find the destinations
Here Geet's dupatta flies up to him and he catches it as if to say she is his destination. He finally realises all this is not his imagination, she really is before him.
The Hug Scene (Added):
The After Hug Scene:
Geet is the first to loosen the hold over Maan who till then was completely lost in the hug. Feeling her loosening, Maan is brought back to the present. He searches her eyes to try reading what they are saying but soon realises that he needs to keep her away from the office for her own sake. So he moves away. The shot here is also pretty symbolic. There are four images of Geet (including her real self) and only three of Maan we can see in the mirrors maybe to show that Geet overwhelms him. As Maan is determined to keep Geet away from the office, he acts stern and questions her why she is there. He turns away from her as he really cant be stern when he is looking at her.
She in turn asks him why he is keeping her away from his gaze when he cant keep her away from his heart. He is taken aback by her words but still pretends to be stern and repeats his question. She answers that she has come to find out the truth. The truth that she meant was different from what he thought she meant. He says that she wants to know about Dev-NT, why he freed them from jail and why did he keep her from the office to hide this fact. She is pained to hear this for she knows that he is willingly taking the blame in order to protect her from hurt while the truth she meant was why did he do so much for her. She confronts him and asks him not to lie as he is a bad liar. I guess that is another thing in common between them, both are bad liars! She tells him that he was trying to protect her and not hiding something. When she tells him that to protect her from the truth which will hurt her he was willing to be seen as wrong, Maan is surprised that she reads him so well and turns away from her again, not wanting her to see his expressions. When she reposes faith in his goodness he is amazed.
When she accepts her fault in doubting him, instead of smirking arrogantly, he is pained. When she talks of the accusations and humiliation she subjected him to the expressions on his face indicated that he had long forgiven her for those faults. When she goes on to say she does not deserve to even ask for apology for she needs to be punished, he has had enough and stops her. He cant take hearing her indulge in any more self flagellation. That is how much he loves her. He stops her and assures her that it was not her fault that she misunderstood him for she has been betrayed by so many. He also accepts his mistake of not trying to dispel her doubts. It was so sweet of Geet to shake her head in the negative here, as if to say , "No, don't blame yourself for this".
Geet, however, wants an assurance from him that he has forgiven her but before he could respond he is called away, leaving her confused as to what his reaction is.
Overall a lovely scene which I will never tire of seeing again and again.
