Hey guys! I know I havent updated in a while!! I've just been busy with the ending of my clinical rotations and online course...and I was also working on Bepanah. I will update this by the end of the weekend, I promise!

She really needs a character change or someone to knock her head..or even push her down the stairs, so she hurts her head and for once ACCEPTS HER RELATIONSHIP AND MARRIAGE WITH ARMAAN. I find her character wayy too confusiNG..at first i thought yes, she takes time to open up and doesnt trust people easily.----yeap..she also has trust issues... But i think Armaan has given her enough reason to be comfortable with him.----exactly and like seriously, she KNEW that whoever she got married to whether it was Armaan or someone else..she was going to live with him and ACCEPT who her parents has chosen for her. Part 14: White and Black

Armaan woke up to a bright late Sunday morning. He stretched lazily and turned over, forgetting that he was sleeping on the couch, and landing flat on his bottom on the floor. He rubbed his bum as he stood up and cursed the floor for being so hard.

He was honestly getting tired of sleeping on the couch. Heck, he wasn't going to cuddle her when he slept on the same bed as her. He sighed. He was getting frustrated but he kept telling himself that she needed more time. He was meeting Angad at their usual spot. Their favourite Irish pub near their campus. Armaan was slightly worried after getting a text message from Angad at 3am stating that he needed to meet him ASAP.

So here he was, getting ready to leave. It was almost noon. He'd slept a good eight hours. As he made his way into the living room, he found Riddhima sitting on the couch watching some Indian soap.

"Morning Riddhima." Armaan said politely.

"morning." She replied without taking her eyes off of the screen.

"Um...I'm just going to head out for a bit. I need to meet Angad."

Riddhima finally looked over her shoulder. "Why do you need to see him again? You two just met last night."

Armaan looked at her blankly for a second. "Oh...um. I don't know...he sent me a text last night. He has something he wants to talk about. I'll be back in an hour or so. Do you want to go for lunch later?"

Riddhima turned back to the screen, frowning. "No. I already ate while you were sleeping."

Armaan: okay...well then...I guess I'll see you in an hour...

He simply walked out when she didn't reply to him. As he drove, he decided that he'd talk to Angad about the difficulties he was having with Riddhima. He was sure that Angad would have some advice. And if that failed, Armaan was going to turn to Kripa for help.

Armaan met Angad at the pub and right away, Armaan knew that Angad wanted to share good news. The guy was beaming a smile that showed most of all of his upper teeth.

"Dude...are you already drunk or something?" Armaan teased as he sat down. Angad just laughed. Armaan raised an eyebrow at him. "Okay...out with it."

Angad shook his head. "No...Not yet. I'm waiting for someone. You tell me. What do you want to talk about?"

Armaan looked at Angad and frowned. "Oh come on...I know you have something on your mind. Talk to me." Angad said even though he knew what Armaan would talk about.

"It's...Its...R-Riddhima." Armaan stuttered. He relaxed when he saw Angad nod knowingly. "I'm getting tired of her treating me this way man. I'm trying. I'm actually really trying. You know me...I never try so hard to make a girl happy. But with her...I want to see her happy...and it upsets me so much that I can't do it. No matter what I do...no matter what I say...it never makes her happy. I feel like I'm in the middle of a desert, with no map, no compass...I don't know what to do or where to go."

Angad blew a breath out and pushed his beer glass towards Armaan. Armaan grabbed the glass and gulped down everything that was in there. Angad folded his hands. Armaan sighed. Angad only did that when he was about to say something that the listener wasn't going to like.

"Okay...I'll come straight to the point. Maybe you're trying too hard. Give her space Armaan. I know you're not invading her space but she may feel like it because technically, she doesn't know you and you don't know her. And I think she needs to come to terms with the fact that you two are married. I don't think she has grasped that yet. Give her time to absorb that and don't try too hard...you may come off too strong if you do." Angad explained in his professional voice.

"So I don't try at all?"

"No! I didn't say that. Try but just don't try too hard. I mean...let's say you're talking to her and she seems uncomfortable or isn't exactly trying as much to keep the conversation going...maybe it's best to not try and drag the conversation. Drop small gestures that tell her you're there for her. Once she's comfortable with you...things will be a lot smoother."

Armaan thought about it for a minute and then nodded. About twenty minutes later, Angad stopped talking abruptly, smiled wide and got out of his seat. Armaan watched on as a girl came up and hugged Angad. Armaan was confused. The hug was much too intimate for her to be just a friend. Who was she? Armaan got up as well to see who it was when he heard someone gasp.

He turned in the direction and saw Riddhima standing there. She wasn't looking back at him. She was looking at Angad and the girl—oh! Oh! Armaan's head moved quickly in the other direction just in time to catch a glimpse of the short kiss between Angad and Kripa.

Armaan couldn't help but smile. Riddhima was frowning. Angad draped an arm around Kripa's waist and gestured her to take the seat next to his. Once Kripa sat down, Angad slid into his seat too. Riddhima was left with the only seat available on that table. Across from Angad, Next to Armaan. Riddhima was still in shock from what she'd just seen. She gingerly took a seat next to Armaan. They were both staring wide-eyed at Angad and Kripa.

Kripa rolled her eyes. "Oh come on guys...you totally saw this coming."

"Not this soon!" Riddhima snapped. "Since when?"

"Since last night." Kripa looked at Angad and smiled warmly. Kripa turned back to Riddhima when Riddhima sighed. "You two are the first ones to know."

Armaan recovered from the shock. "Well, I'm happy for you two. You two do make a good couple. And honestly...I guess some part of me saw this coming...I mean...all those phone calls in India...then sticking together on our way back home...last night at the party...it was pretty obvious."

"Yet you're surprised." Angad completed for him. Armaan nodded.

"I am...only because I didn't think you would go up to her and tell her what you feel." Armaan said.

Kripa was looking at him intently. She could see the sadness in his eyes. Even when he spoke, his voice had an edge of sadness to it. Kripa's eyes instinctively flickered to Riddhima who was still frowning at Kripa. Kripa shook her head slightly, giving up, and looked away.

The next month or so was very blissful for Angad and Kripa and very stressful for Armaan and Riddhima. Riddhima had gotten worse. No matter how much anyone explained, she refused to try. Something was on her mind that she couldn't let go of.

Angad and Kripa were that perfect couple everyone wanted to be. School had started now and Angad and Kripa both were in their final year of university. Kripa went for her clinical rotations everyday from 8 in the morning till 4 in the afternoon. She would meet with Angad when his classes were done, but it wasn't easy. Sometimes they saw each other for an hour or so every day and sometimes they went about three days without seeing each other at all. They made sure they called each other a lot, and talked on Skype a lot to make up for the lost time together. It was almost like a long distance relationship.

On the other hand, after the school had started, Riddhima had changed slightly. She was communicating with Armaan now but she was being...possessive. Overly possessive. He sensed it. He hated it. Every time he was about to step out of the house for something, she'd question him. Where was he going? Who was he going with? Why he needed to go? How long would it take?

And it was all driving Armaan up the wall. His entire life he'd never been questioned that way before. He used to tell her everything before but she'd just look at him suspiciously. So he'd stopped telling her everything and now she was questioning him around the clock. Of course, he still slept on the couch. Almost a month since their wedding, they'd been living under the same roof, yet they were like strangers.

Rahul and Muskaan were making effort too. They weren't as involved as Angad and Kripa but they weren't as distant as Armaan and Riddhima either. Rahul and Muskaan had also given up on trying reasoning with Armaan and Riddhima.

One Friday night, Armaan was almost out the door for his boys' night out when Riddhima called from behind. Armaan froze. He tried his best to control the anger arising in him. He hated how she continuously questioned him. She wasn't giving him his space!

He turned half way, not looking at her. "Yeah?"

Riddhima: where are you going at this hour?

Armaan clenched his fist. "I'll be back in a bit. Just going out with the guys."

Riddhima: but it's so late. Who are you going with? Where are you guys going?

"STOP IT!" Armaan put one palm across his forehead. "Stop it Riddhima! I would really appreciate it if you could just give me my space. I give you your space and a heck of a lot time for yourself...I'm sure you can spare me my night with my guy friends."

Angry and annoyed, Armaan left the house. He didn't return until 4 am that morning. Riddhima was asleep when he got in. He looked at her sleeping on the bed and quietly closed the door. The click of the door had Riddhima jerking out of sleep. She frowned at Armaan.

"Where were you? It's four in the morn—"

"Not now Riddhima." He interrupted her and without another glance at her, went into the bathroom and changed. When he got out again, he risked a glance at Riddhima. She was shivering slightly. Her shoulders and abdomen moving in a weird pattern. Then she sucked in a rocky breath. Oh damn. She was crying.

He walked around the bed to the side where he could see her face. Her hand was covering her face.

"Riddhima...?" he touched her head lightly.

She slapped his hand away and sat up, wiping her face furiously.

"I'm...I'm sorry...I didn't mean to..." he extended his hand to rest it on her shoulder again. She turned and pushed at his chest with both hands, with all the energy she could gather. Armaan lost his balance and fell, the side of his forehead hitting the edge of the side table's leg.

He winced in pain and put a palm over his wound. It wasn't bleeding. Riddhima looked at him; a little sober now that she'd realized what she'd just done.

"Armaan I—"

He held up her hand and she stopped talking. Still looking like he was in pain, he got up and staggered a bit.

"Go to bed Riddhima. Good night."

He didn't walk to his usual spot on the couch. He walked out of the room. Riddhima didn't hear any other doors opening or closing. He was still at home. Following the first thought that came to her mind, she reached for her cell phone. She speed dialled Kripa's number and paused with her thumb lingering over the 'call' button. Then she changed her mind.

The next morning when she woke up, she couldn't find Armaan anywhere. His bag was gone. He was gone for school.

While here Riddhima was glad to be rid of him, Kripa woke up, stretching lazily in bed, feeling like she was on top of the world.

She'd talked to her mother last night and told her about Angad. Her mother was absolutely ecstatic. Then Angad had called and she'd fallen asleep talking to him. She tied her hair in a lose bun and got out of bed. She let out a lazy yawn as she walked into her living room. She hit the "on" button on her radio and smiled hearing one of her favourite songs. She sang and danced along with the radio's tune while brushing her teeth.

"I'm walking on sunshine baby oh, I'm walking on sunshine." She turned up the radio as high as it would go. She was pretty sure this could be heard outside but she didn't care. "I'm walking on sunshine whoa, I'm walking on sunshine whoa and don't it feel good!!"

As the song came to a close and flowed into another one of Kripa's favourites, she washed her mouth and face and walked into the living room towards the wall sized window to open the blinds...while dancing, of course.

"Oh her face is map of the world is a map of the world" she paused with the blinds half open. As she did a little twist step. "And you can see that she's a beautiful girl she's a beautiful girl!" She let go of the draw string and danced some more as the crisp October sunshine came through the glass. "And everything around her is a silver pool of light. The people who surround her feel the benefit of it" She turned her back to the window and did a classic rock and roll dance step. "It makes you calm, she holds you captivated in her palm" she whipped around to face the window again. "Suddenly I see—"

She stopped singing as she saw Angad looking at her. He was perched on the front of his car, looking at her with a mixture of joy, surprise, and amusement on his face. She realized her arms were still up in the air, one side of her hip raised higher than the other. She immediately stood straight. Angad wiggled his fingers towards her with a grin on his face. Kripa waved back and walked into the house.

A couple of seconds later, the main door opened. Kripa was so excited to see him that she half ran towards him. Angad got off of the hood of his car just in time to catch her in an embrace as she jumped at him. Just like in most of their hugs, Kripa's feet weren't on the ground. She was so tiny that it was easy for Angad to just pick her up.

She lifted her head off of his shoulder, and looked at him, their faces an inch apart. Then he smiled his slanted smile. Kripa closed the small distance and kissed him. They both reluctantly pulled apart when they realized that their kiss was becoming too intimate for a driveway in public.

He put her down gently and let her entwine her fingers with his as she led him inside. This was the first time he was going into her house.

"Have you already had breakfast?" Kripa asked.

His stomach answered before he did. It growled. Kripa giggled. He followed her into the kitchen and sat on the counter, watching her make pancakes and sneaking her a kiss or two every now and then.

After they'd had their breakfast, Kripa excused herself to go and get ready for the day. While she was in her room, Angad heard some noises. She was talking to someone. Curiously, he followed the direction of her voice and the words became clearer.

"Aw baby...come on sweetie...I shouldn't bribe you so much...I feel like I'm spoiling you with my kisses!" She went on.

"Kripa?" Angad called out as he entered her room. She yelped and jumped, startled.

"You scared me!" She held out her cupped hands in front of him. "I want you to meet someone...Meet Dolce"

Angad looked at her hands and saw the light brown haired teddy bear hamster. Her pet. Angad smiled and stroked the hamster's head with the back of his index finger.

"Dolce?" he asked.

"Yeap. It means sweet in Italian."

"And how come I don't know about dolce?" he asked.

"You never asked if I had any pets...I've had her for a while...she's almost a year old." Kripa smiled sweetly at him.

"She huh? Well...I'm glad dolce is a girl otherwise I would have been a jealous man." Angad said jokingly to which Kripa just giggled and shook her head. "Go and get ready until Dolce and I bond...I need to talk to you about something...and then I'll drop you for your class at noon."

Kripa nodded, kissed his cheek and left to get ready. Once she was all dressed and ready to go, after a few kisses and romantic moments, they got into the car and drove off to wherever Angad was taking her.

This was the truth of their lives. Both couples were as different as white and black. Will they ever find the perfect balance?
