in hindi it is bhaiya..... so many people associate writing it as bhaji....
but it is a punjabi word.... n it is pronounced with a "p" as paaji.... b/ often it is written as bhaji....trust me... i m punjabi..... i knw
i agree with u. it is technically spelled bhaji in phonetic english if u translate from punjabi but pronounced paaji so its okay to write paaji on something casual lika a forumOriginally posted by: mittijalebi
i'm punjabi too and can speak it very fluently as well as read and write it.just like its spelled bhangra and not pangra its the same pronunciation when we say bhaji. the bh in punjabi is not pronounced the same way as the bh in hindi. so for all of you people who are getting confused with the bhaji as in snack......i hope this explains it.
bh is pronounced as something between b and ph but bhatinda is not pronounced patinda at all 😕 its pronnouced just like it is spelledOriginally posted by: DesiIFer
Punjabis pronounce BH as P. So bhaji becomes paji, bhatinda become patinda and so on.
Pajji is just fine. Nothing to worry about.
lol you are funny guy
Paaji is punjabi not English...in English Pa=Dad
Paaji comes from "Phraji" or Veer ji (Elder bro) in Punjabi
When you prounce the first word sound like P not B so Paaji
Punjabis dont use Bhai or Bhai ji..thats hindi
Dada is big bro in Bengali but in rest of India Dada means grand pa...dada means 'rowdy' or 'goons' in our language😆
Mota Bhai in Gujrati is elder bro...in rest of India it would be fat bro
obviously you dont know anything about Punjabi language....
paaji is correct
