Oh, this one I have no idea. Anyway. they showed a different story from the article above, so maybe that episode is for next week.
Today's episode was about rajgurus who have material aspirations, and in the process, undermine the fruits of their labor. The rajguru in this story was one Ashwabhatt.
A certain King was worshipping Kubera, and pleased, Kubera appeared before him. The king asked him for a golden palace on the banks of the Narmada. Kubera went and created one for him, and then gave it to him. The king was excited that his wife, queen Charulata, would be very happy w/ this.
Queen Charulata was observing karva chauth and waiting for her husband to return. Ashwabhatt suggested to her that she could take it in his absence, but she told him that her pativrata dharam didn't allow her to do that. However, the king arrived and broke her fast, and gave her the news about his palace. The queen was very happy, and the king asked Ashwabhatt to perform the rituals of the grihapravesh of that palace.
Ashwabhatt did all that, and as a part of it, gave the queen a pot w/ a coconut in it, and asked her to install it near the shrine. The queen went ahead and did it. The king offered Ashwabhatt his gurudakshina, and Ashwabhatt, seeing his opportunity, and after confirming that it was a pledge, asked for the golden palace and everything that belonged to it. The king was shocked, but agreed. Queen Charulata was shocked as well. However, he asked Charulata to leave w/ him. As they were about to leave, Ashwabhatt pointed out that Chatulata was a part of what belonged to the palace, and so she too was now his. The king was furious and wanted to slay him, but Charulata told him that as a pativrata wife, she couldn't allow his vow to be broken, and asked him to wait for her until she punishes the rajguru.
Shani is watching all this and says that Ashwabhatt is guilty of 3 things - greed, coveting a pativrata stri, and biting the very hand that fed him. He said that his dand-chakra will go into action very soon. In his original palace, the king is now praying to Shani and asking him what was his exact fault, and points out that if Ashwabhatt gets away w/ it, nobody would trust or respect rajgurus. He tells Shani that Shani is responsible for the dignity of his queen.
Shani says that since Ashwabhatt misused his knowledge & intelligence, he would be deprived of both. Suddenly, in front of Ashwabhatt, 2 white-clad people - one man & one woman appear. The woman introduces herself as buddhi, and the man as gyan. They tell him that since he misused them, they are leaving him. They then disappear.
In the meantime, Ashwabhatt tries to approach the queen, but she pulls a blade of dhraba grass and puts it on the floor, and warns him that even Ravan couldn't cross that. Ashwabhatt tries to anyway, and gets badly electrocuted 😆
Next day, the king is travelling, when he sees a public announcement that queen Charulata would be auctioned as a slave. He gets furious and grabs his sword, and his hands bleed. He then goes to his palace and resolves to kill Ashwabhatt, but Shani arrives there and tells him that he's going to set a horrible example if he does that, and assures him that Shani is protecting the queen.
The auction is on, and the queen is thrown to the floor by Ashwabhatt, and different bidders start the bidding. When it looks like there is a buyer, Shani comes and offers Ashwabhatt a plant that will give him all the gems he desires. Ashwabhatt demands evidence, and Shani shows him gems falling from the plant. Ashwabhatt is satisfied and sells the queen to Shani, and takes the plant, dismissing the other bidders. Shani then tells the queen that she's back to her old status as the king's wife, and is free to punish Ashwabhatt as she sees fit. She goes and slaps him hard, but Ashwabhatt is more interested in his newly found toy.
Later, Ashwabhatt is trying to get some more gems from his plant, but this time, only stones start falling. He gets furious, and Shani appears and tells him that he's been treated in a way identical to how he treated others. Then the palace starts changing from golden to normal stone, and Ashwabahu is shocked.
A number of rishis then arrive @ the spot, and tell Ashwabahu that they are all rajgurus, and that he's insulted their profession w/ his deeds, and so they are expelling him from their order. They then beat him thoroughly, and leave him laying on the ground. Shani tells him that he still has an opportunity to repent, but Ashwabhatt decides that he'll go and this time demand the entire kingdom from the king.
Shani decides that enough is enough and summons an (his? the color was white, whereas his is a black raven) eagle and tells him to complete Ashwabhatt's punishment. Ashwabhatt is limping down the city towards the king's palace, but the eagle attacks him & kills him 👏
Later, the king & queen are @ Shani's shrine, and thank him for doing justice.
Comments: Good episode. Only thing I found really strange - the personification of buddhi & gyan. And since they left Ashwabhatt, he started making all stupid moves from that point on.
Only regret - maybe it was implied - but I wish the king got back the golden palace he had originally asked for, since it turning to stone was just to rebuff Ashwabhatt. However, queen Charulata - if she's a pativrata, how does she stay w/ another man to make her husband's vow true? That one didn't make much sense. But glad she was secure.
