Yet Ajay is so underrated! I hate that, he is one of the best actors of today! He gets into his character he plays so well! Not to mention he is versatile too!

Movie Review Golmaal3: The credit goes to all who have performed in this movie especially the direction that is able to drive out the best of everyone.

Cast selection score is also hundred percent. Movie is full of fun all around right from the word go.

Ajay Devgn is an unkempt character with pierced ears, diamond studs in ears, skin tattoos, rough attitude, unique hair style and hyperactive.

On the other hand Kareena Kapoor has played a character so beautifully that it gels well with the team of men in the movie. Probably she is the perfect choice for that role to fit in her tomboyish role.

Tusshar has given a new definition to his capabilities with excelled qualities. He alone handily made some scenes so funny and at times too emotional. Probably by now he has learnt the art of running the show on his own.

Arshad Warsi is as good as earlier. Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemu are perfect and essentially woven add-ons. Ratna Pathak Shah is seen after a long period and is as pretty as before.

Mithun Chakraborty is a natural actor and so is Johny Lever. Prem Chopra is grown old but has not lost his vigour and style. The movie is a must watch to have tears in your eyes which will come automatically after laughing unstoppably. It can be stated as a perfect entertainer.

Rohit Shetty's unique direction style makes this movie more watchable and he has definitely given new heights to comedy. Rohit Shetty and Golmaal have become synonyms by now.

The continuity and flow in the script does not break the tide at any moment of time. This is the third in row after Golmaa, Golmaal Returns and now Golmaal 3.

Movie bounds you so tightly throughout that you will not like to miss any sequence in between.

For the first time a third in any series has been released or made in India. The movie has delivered more fun and enjoyment than its earlier two parts.

Ajay Devgn as Gopal and Shreyas Talpade as Laxman are siblings living together with Ratna Pathak Shah as mother (Geeta). Their best friend Kareena Kapoor as Daboo lives with them in the house.

There is another group of Arshad Warsi as MAdhav, Kunal Khemu as Laxman and Tusshar Kapoor as Lucky as three siblings with their father Mithun Chakraborty as Pritam.

Both Geeta (also known as Guddi) and Pritam decide to marry but the two set of siblings are purely in a hate-hate relationship.

The movie has lot of twists and turns with each twist giving you laughter and each turn giving you more laughter.

Rating: 4/5

Yet another good review!

GOLMAAL3 Movie Review
by Deepa Karmalkar

Film: Golmaal 3
Director: Rohit Shetty
Cast: Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar, Kunal Khemu, Shreyas Talpade, Mithun Chakraborty, Ratna Pathak Shah

Rating: ****

Verdict: Go, go, go for it! Enjoy the crackling humour of this madcap comedy.

Director Rohit Shetty has got the fun formula right for the third time. Yup, this Diwali he sets off laughter rockets and bursts wise crackers through the third installment of Golmaal. He sticks by his basic recipe of bunch of good-for-nothing pals (this time brothers), an autumnal romance and a pack of crazy cops and florid gangsters. He churns them all together to come up with a sumptuous serving of laughter. Slick action, snazzy songs enhance the momentum of the film further.

Gopal (Ajay), his stammering brother Laxman (Shreyas) and their pretty partner Dabboo (Kareena) con the gullible Vasooli (Mukesh Tiwari) into funding their wild business ventures which invariably go phut. Hot headed Gopal gets enraged at the sight of anybody's raised finger and launches into a fit of fistfight while Dabboo belying her glam quotient launches into a tirade of choicest swear words taking her assailants by surprise. Well this family is headed by a no-nonsense yet endearing mom Geeta (Ratna Pathak Shah).

Meet the other bunch of goofy characters – three brothers - Madhav (Arshad), Laxman (Tusshar playing dumb again), Kunal Khemu who are perpetually over drawn and their school bus driver father – Pritam (Mithun) keeps on bailing them out of trouble.
Gopal & Co get pitched against Madhav & brothers – both put up a skiing business which they end up botching up completely, next they both put up fire cracker shops – which they end up setting fire to and again losing it. When Pritam learns about the destructive rivalry, he decides to take it up with the opponents. But when faced with Gopal's mom he rewinds quickly to the past when he used to be a disco dancer and romancing this rich man's daughter. "Guddi!" lovestruck, he calls out. "Pappu!" she responds with romantic ardour. Now we know the two had been lovers torn apart by Guddi's rich papa (played out by Prem Chopra as a magnificent caricature). We are then treated to Mithun's 'I am a disco dancer…' number as a flashback.

Sample the cheesy humour – Pritam fighting with Geeta and telling her,"Guddi too to Buddha ho gay re…" The one liners keep going off incessantly, keeping you tickled through out. The autumnal romantic scene where Mithun follows Ratna furtively on his bicycle while she's riding pillion with Kareena is really hilarious. Now Dabboo plays cupid and gets the two love birds married. The newly weds bring in their sons and mayhem follows.

What circumstances bring the family together is what the funny flick is about.
Great production values, hearty performances especially by Mithun, Ratna, Ajay and Kareena add to the appeal of the film. Yens Seawall's wacky lines, Preterm's zany music and cute edit are a huge bonus.

But Shetty gets carried away with his never ending, mostly repetitive fight sequences. He could have kept the action snappier. Also the plot is see through yet it is engaging. On the whole – it is what a madcap comedy ought to be. A big dollop of fun which is made up of those melting humorous moments. Good job, Rohit Shetty.

Don't miss: PRO Parag Desai's straight-faced acting debut as a sketch artiste to whom Johnny Lever deliberately tells, "Baaratiyon ka swagat Pan Parag se hona chahiye" and his henchman corrects him saying,"Yeh artiste Parag hai."

Also the rolling titles that give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how Kareena actually rests against a triangular stand as she makes her entry standing a top a car!

Rohit Shetty begins GOLMAAL 3 with a few collage shots of GOLMAAL and GOLMAAL RETUNS. He has every reason to do so. After all, both clicked with the audiences and set the cash registers ringing. But they also bring with them a humongous set of expectations for GOLMAAL 3.

GOLMAAL 3 promises to be bigger. Not only the characters, the number of action sequences, gags are a lot more than the previous two editions. You also have a dog this time named 'Facebook'.

After GOLMAAL, GOLMAAL RETURNS and ALL THE BEST, Ajay Devgn teams up with Rohit Shetty yet again this Diwali. Their combination has proved to be very successful. Also, in the recent past, Ajay has excelled doing comedy and action, something which this film has aplenty.

The story bears resemblance to Basu Chatterjee's 1978 film, KHATTA MEETHA starring Ashok Kumar and Pearl Padamsee. Its plot bears no similarity to GOLMAAL or GOLMAAL RETURNS. Set in Goa, it follows the story of two groups who can't stand each other. Gopal (Ajay Devgn) lives with his brother Laxman (Shreyas Talpade), mother Geeta (Ratna Pathak Shah) and friend Daboo (Kareena Kapoor). The other group led by Madhav (Arshad Warsi) includes Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor) and Laxman (Kunal Khemu). Pritam (Mithun Chakraborty) is their father, who was in a relationship with Geeta. They meet after many years and realise their old spark is still alive. Daboo somehow gets them married, thereby bringing the two rival groups together. You also have a thief with a short term memory loss, Puppy (Johnny Lever) and his sidekicks played by Vrajesh Hirjee and Sanjay Mishra who are on a hunt to find a necklace.

Distribution of Reviews so far:
Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama: 4 stars "ideal fun ride"
Mayank Shekhar HT 1.5 stars
"Close to three hours is long time in anyone's life. It's longer still to pack into a screenplay. The filmmakers have six main actors to juggle with, and as many side comedians to lend parts to. There's a deadline (Diwali) to meet. Never mind the narrative, they'd be happy with as any corny antics and dialogues with whoever's available. You can cheat shots for actors not present. Shoddiness shows."

Nikhat Kazmi, TOI 3.5 stars "In an industry where sequels rarely work, the Golmaal franchise seems to have struck gold with its formula of making sense out of nonsense. If Golmaal-l was sheer fun, the second in the series took a slight dip in terms of merriment. Thankfully, Golmaal 3 sets the graph right by revving up the laughter meter and providing a perfect Diwali getaway for viewers who are hungry for some hungama this festive season. "

IANS 3 stars "Director Rohit Shetty tries his best in merging comic vignettes into one comprehensible film. However, had it not been for the funny dialogues, his lack of directorial verve would have shone out. He is spared the fate by some ingenious dialogue writing by Robin Bhatt ('Aashiqui', 'Sadak', 'Baazigar') and Yunus Sajawal."

Raja Sen, Rediff 1.5 stars "The best thing that can be said about Golmaal 3 is that it both enters and exits your system rather comprehensively, leaving behind nothing either memorable or of consequence."

Renuka Rao, DNA 3.5 stars "As expected (and promised), this film is all about wacky humour, well-timed farcical dialogues and brainless entertainment."

Sitendu Goswami, tellycafe.com 3 stars "The scene where the siblings threaten each other without saying a single word is a masterpiece in itself. This movie is highly recommended Diwali family entertainer that will paste a nice grin on your face"
