Monday 25/10/10 Episode No 131 - Archives ' Copy
Kalyana Mandapam - every one is welcoming every one - ore jolly.
Karthik is with his friends - has his usual weird accessories and a
friend asks him to remove all of it.. Karthik says that he wears all this only
to irritate Swathi - (hmm Tamizh serials le mattum thaan revenge kku
kalyaanam pannippanga !!) Finally chithappu comes and rips off all the accessories.
Friends make fun of Karthik but he says that he has one whole load of
tricks up his sleeves " to irritate Swathi, gotcha??" On the other side, Swathi is
happy and gets teased by her friends. She is left alone as she wants to change her sari -
antha door daddak daddak nnu adikkarathu !!!
A happy Sara with his friends - looks like he got out of the hospital and Shylu's
clutches - in the same order?? - Cyanide mom is fretting and some lady talks about
Cyanide daughter's wedding " enakku therinja payyan, inge thaan irukkan, come and
see him, please" C.Mom says that she has other plans. The other lady insists on
"boy seeing" and C.mom kaduppu adichufies. The other lady curses " un pOnnu kalyaanam epdi nadakkum nnu pakkaren.." C.Daughter goes to Swathi's room, some chit chat and
Vettu Ravi is shown that room. Some close up shots of C.daughter ( directorial touch aam !!! sagikkalai ppa) Swathi is about to be abducted. Apram antha great Kalangapuli, the thai maaman of the girls arrives - ore warm welcome - ivar joker aa?? Villain aa?? yarukku theriyum??
Swathi is made to smell some chloroform and gets abducted. She is obviously inside a
Vaazhai elai kattu - KS questions the movement but allows it to go. Swathi is gone with Vaazhai elai. C.Daughter shows victory sign to C.mommy. Time for the first JOdi to grace
the dais - Kavitha and Muthu look happy - so are one whole lot.....(Roja thought that all the 3 weddings will happen at the same time !!! Looks like it is one by one...in which case the first two weddings will happen and when it comes to the third, the story of the missing bride will come to light??? Tamizh might be forced to marry Karthik??? Eswaraaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Roja kku seekiram amnesia kudu ppa )

Nadaswaram in full force - everybody is dressed to the hilt in grand sarees - flowers, jewelry, all decked up, Kavitha comes and sits beside MK. They steal glances at each other, more nadaswaram, Kavitha says she is wearing a covering gold chain in case his brothers ask about the chain he supposedly gave her, he praises her thoughtfulness, she wants to know if they sell ice as well as rice and paruppu, he tells her he will be even more playful after marriage, smiles exchanged (all this is too good to last!). And I sat and wondered why Mr. el didn't do any playful talk while we were getting married - unfortunately, that was too many years back!
Next couple come down - Sara breathing a sigh of relief, looking remarkably healthy for a guy who had his stomach pumped out last night after taking poison, carrying a bouquet in his hand (I thought the bouquet was only for the reception! why are they carrying it in for the muhurtham?) Vasanthi follows, also carrying a bouquet - eljay, you don't know how they do it these days, so just shut up!
Priest asks for third couple - Karthik comes in, sits down, then Meena asks Tamil to go and get Swathi. Tamil walks down the aisle, all the way to the end, then turns left, then goes to the room where Swathi was dressing, opens the door, calls to her - no reply! Where are her friends? Now they also come in, everyone looks at the empty room, Tamil keeps calling her name in the empty room, then sees the letter on the table, reads it - Swathi has written it (did they show this yesterday>? If she was forced to write it, why didn't she write it in a way that would be different from her usual style, so that they would know something was up?)
Tamil takes the letter, goes back to the hall, walks down the center aisle (did she have to do this big drama? couldn't she have gone from the side and done this discreetly?), then calls her amma, who comes, reads the letter, and stands there frozen. Janaki is watching all this, comes up and asks them what has happened, and Meena gives her the letter. Janaki reads it, and bursts out with a loud Aiyayo! She goes wailing up to the stage, My kudumba maanam mariyathai ellam poche, en annan veetu kalyanam ippadi aache, and so on. KS asks what happened, AM shows him the letter, Janaki does more wailing, goes to Karthi, says Aiyo, enga veetu maapillaikku ippadi avamaanam (folks, these may or may not be the actual words, but I have no intention of watching it again, this was the general meaning!), unnai ippadi vittutu andha odukaali poittaale, and so on. Then she says that don't worry, your marriage can still take place, you can marry my daughter Prema, goes up to her daughter and says Prema dear, I said this without consulting you, but please do this for my annan's veetu mariyadhai's sake, etc. Paati steps in and tells her to stop, says that the three sons must get brides from the same family, there is still one more daughter. Prakash's mother steps in, says that Tamil is already engaged to Prakash, they cannot do this, and at this point, KS's niece steps in and says that they are the boy's family, they can do what they want (enna, boy's familyna enna vennaalum pannalaama?) Some big guy says that it is his sister's daughter, the marriage will have to stop, KS asks them to be calm, and wants to talk to AM, some guest steps in and asks the rest of the people to stop interfering and let the principal parties discuss this and AM and KS step aside to discuss this, along with Meena. KK takes Tamil's hand and asks her to come along, Prakash's mom tries to stop her, saying that they have already started distributing the invitation cards, but KK ignores her and proceeds to take Tamil with her.

KK takes Tamil with her ignoring Prakash's mom, who reminds Tamil that Prakash always defended her and stood up for her, even against his own family.
KS tells AM that they consider his father their God and they cannot go against his wishes, they know Tamil's wedding is fixed, so the only solution is to stop all three weddings. Meena and AM protest, saying that if they take their daughters back from the mandapam, how can they get married again? Your sons will get married, but our daughters? (I don't know where this idea took hold that if a girl's wedding gets stopped, she will not get married again, but if it happens to a boy, there will be no problems for him. Aren't the same rules applicable to both?)
Now KK takes up the emotional blackmail, saying that Meena calls KS her brother and KK her aNNi, she couldn't have asked for a better naathanaar, she loves their family and she would rreally like to see her three sons married when she dies. She talks of her two heart attacks, says she may not live long. Meena says the other family is equally close to them and have been very good to them, how can she poke out one eye to please the other eye?
Tamil speaks up and talks of how Prakash has been so loving to her and shown her so much paasam. Finally AM comes and speaks to Tamil, tells her to make a decision, but says she should think of her sisters, and goes out., followed by Meena. KK and KS also leave.
Now it is MK's turn to apply emotional pressure. He tells Tamil about his mother's heart condition, is about to fall at her feet, Tamil stops him, he says he is begging for his mother's life, and leaves. Tamil is under pressure and thinking.

MK also applies emotional blackmail on
Thamizh (sounds like a silly reason because his mother is dying
everyone should sacrifice their living). Thamizh has loooong flashback
on how her sisters love her, and how Prakash also loves her. She makes
a decision.
Sigh-nide madam and mother crying- Prema feeling her plan might go to waste...she is really sobbing (yay, to see)
Thamizh
comes in bridal wear, Prakash mum fuming with smoke out fo her ears.
Thamizh apologises to athai, and mil says dont call them athai and
mama. They scold her for being so kevalam and so quick to reject their
son. Thamizh apologises and says she is doing it for her family. Her in
laws spill all their frustration, and says they will never bless her,
and that their vayiru is eriyudhu and she will never live well. Meena
does RKO to them and they leave completely cursing and swearing.

and mother crying....prema's phone rings at that time, it is Vettu
Ravi, saying the girl Swathi escaped. Prema is shocked. (serves her
right)
Thamizh gets seated next to Karthik (yuck, avaL akka maadhiri irrukka)
All
3 men pick up thali, at that moment, Swathi runs in crying...Meena
starts beating her, and Swathi stops them, and tells the story. Swathi
says Vettu ravi was angry his goondas tried to misbehave towards her
(he is apparently an honest man even amidst evil). While he was
scolding them, she escapes, locking them in the house. Now everyone
knows the story, and Thamizh stands up from the kalyana medai since her
sister is back....thodarum
felt a bit bad for
Thamizh in this episode...she really doesnt deserve this, but sadly she
is going to be in BIG trouble with Prakash now!

Sorry for the delay friends.
Swati describes the adduction & her smart escape drama in flashback mode. Camera captures the shocked expression of her kith & kin. Thamizh is relieved , garland changes neck , Swati sits near Karthik & ketti melam , ketti melam , nadhas vidwans pichu odharing Anandham anandaham anandhame , ellor mugathilum paramanandhame. Friday marriage inidhe nadandheriyadhu. Nitya vaaiku mudhal sarkarai. Prema sitting alone & crying. Now KS wants to make amends for Thamizh , accompanies AM / Meena & Thamizh to Eka's house to explain everything.
Mallika Ekambaram [MA] angrily explaining the matter to her anni ..Inime andha Parama Eswarane vandhalaum I will not let my son to marry that Thamizh , the wedding is cancelled , throw the invitation on the dust bin. Even though I was never keen on this alliance right from day one graciously agreed to it for my son's & husband' sake. Nice insult we have got in return. Anni consoles her , offers to send jatagams of other good girls in their relation asap. Do that , says MA , but no Aswini nakshatra girl [ Thamizh's birth star] , don't want to see the face of any girl bearing that Aswa[sa]ni nakshatram..Ekambaram too busily informing people about the cancellation of wedding.
AM party arrive at Eka's house. Get out shouts Eka. His angry outburst brings MA out. Both husband & wife take turns in shouting at them. The insult tendered to them for their magnanimity was highlighted once again. All efforts by AM , Meena & KS to console & appease them go waste. Eka accuses KS as the main cause for all these happenings , naduvil magic thatha mandayayum serthu urutaraar. KS warns him to mind his language as regard to his Father who is a maha sidhar. Then pleads with him to reconsider his decision regarding poor Thamizh .[ Poor Thamizh..sariyana Trisangu position ]. No way shouts Mr & Mrs Eka.She is as good as second hand , our son deserves better bride. MA goes inside brings out the left over invitations & throws them on their face. Freeze on sad Thamizh's face.
