Is showing s** the only way to rise up?

Hello members,
Well this is a little sensitive topic i have opened!😊.....But i often wonder, is it the truth that only "SRK and Se* sells in Entertainment Industry"?
Well the above quote is not by me, but by all people related to the tv/b-wood industry!

Let's keep our discussion centred round this small 3 letter word-'s**'.....which though being small, has the world going round it!

I myself have noticed this thing that it's indeed 'this' that sells in tv industry, atleast. Here of course it's in milder form as compared to it's B-wood cousin, but this is indeed what sells here!
The story/script is indeed important, but beyond a point, to catch the viewer's attention, the makers often resort to 'it'.
And if you notice, there have been many shows which though started with a lots of promise to showcase social issues or some other un-conventional themes, but they ultimately came to the same safe shelter!

And there are still many shows, which took to showing glam, passion, love,etc. to resurrect themselves, since they were not able to survive on the theme with which they started off!🤔

Without being a hypocrite, i would say that I myself have been pulled in to watch a lot many shows (in past) when they incorporated the "glam" quotient in them!

Okay now you must be wondering how this topic is related to BHPH?😊

The thing is, when i saw the rankings of BHPH coming down and some shows with the initials 'G' and 'D' going up (which were down in rankings before), i thought is 'that' the reason why those shows attain such high rankings?! 'coz both of them are full of 'the thing' am talking about!
While Baat Hamari, being a decent family show, is not able to make that mark!🤔

What do you think guys?

P.s.: I have not intended to disgrace those 'D' and 'G' shows! As i said, i myself like watching ''glamorous'' shows. And i do watch 'G' sometimes. My comments are totally in comparision to BHPH.😊

P.s.: By 'se*' and 'glamour' i obviously mean those intense/passionate love scenes! Not the Emran Hashmi kinds, of course!😆

hi krishy i disagree with ur topic ... i dont know abt the other shows ur mentioning but definitely when talking about BHPH i can say one thing that the script is reponsible for watever rankings its getting..

it doesnt make any sense to me when the hero of the show doesnt change a bit even after so many episodes.. and when tara asked him to be a ghar jamai he readily accepted it 😡 atleast there i expected that he would be bound to his family if not to sanchi..

there is no logic in the show.. and thats y its getting a lower rank.. if they show any sense in the script automatically the TRP will increase.. 😊

actually dear, i agree with you partly! But you know what, i still believe in the above saying and that is because there are many other shows which have no script at all and are totally confusing....but are still surviving, and that is by showing love etc. scenes!.....The biggest example is the show i mentioned with the initial 'D'.
As for BHPH, well i agree...that it's dragging a bit now. But it still has a strong plot intact and the story line is light hearted.....but you know, it's not that "passionate", so it lacks behind!🤔..............BTW, it's the fault of Sony tv as well who shows step-motherly treatment to it's own shows, by never promoting them!!!!!.....

actually i totally agree with krishy...i have seen many mindless shows getting more trp than good shows like BHPH why simple because people are indulging more to watch those triping falling things that really not happen/........only see one time how it feels when you slip...

I totally agree with u.. These days the shows which have "that' factor in it only succeed and make more business..
Unfortunately, the mindset of the people is such hat the Glam factor only catches their attention.. Due to which the Promising shows which start with a good mature theme also end up showing "stupid melodrama' and "the cheap glam' factor to gain Trps..
I dunno abt the G ur talking about, but ive witnessed certain "M'" and "D" shows which started out to be very promising but then deteriorated from their track just for the sake of gaining TRPS which i think is sad...

On the other hand, if we see, There have been "very Few" shows which have actually started off with a good theme and decent story and did not go on the conventional glam and melodrama resulting in their shutting down like for example Rishta.com (yrf show) which according to my opinion Was "the best show made on indian tv" and had "actual good and decent content" and had something "different " to offer but The Cvz didnt change the track for the sake of the Trps resulting in its shutting down..😔

Contrary to what someone else has posted here, i think "BHPH makes complete sense" ..just because there are no never ending eyelocks, rona dhona, glam factor , drunkard scenes blah blah.." doesnt mean that the show doesnt make logic..
Its the peoples Mindset which doesnt make any logic to me.. Right now, in BHPH, if u give them bunch of over acted scenes and "that type" song sequences and see how the TRPs rise high 🤢

What i think is the reason behind BHPH ranking not going high is :

1. Peoples crazy thinking and topics of interest which i fail to understand .. frankly i feel thats very cheap and low of the people to give such nice decent shows like BHPH not even a chance..

2. as u said, Sonys pathetic promotional strategies.. Sony shows are mostly the most decent and watchable shows on indian tv but the problem is their bad promotion due to which they fail to work..😔

Anyways, talking about the characters in BHPH, i think they are the USP of the show and they shouldnt be changed at all..

I love shravan and Sanchi the way they are..
Shravan is shown as a dude whos out of college and blown away by crushes..so wat...Why should he change ?? .. Isnt that real??.. that happens to everyone.. Hes gonna undergo a gradual change like normal human beings do..
It will not be like ,the moment hes married, hes gonna become a boring sophisticated man and the most responsible guy on earth by magic ( a magic to gain trps😆) Everything in real life is gradual...
except the natural disasters which happen in "other shows" 😆

n Sanchi isnt a cry baby.. then well if i may ask... Do you girls keep crying all the time?? She is shown to be a real person..the intention is to show her as a girl from around us..Not a fictional overacting melodramatic queen ..😕 She is undergoing a gradual change in her personality which happens in reality...again no magic here 😃

anyways, coming back to the topic...
Wat i think is, Sony should improve its promoting strategies and the people need to change their thinking a bit and learn to accept "actual good stuff" as well..
Enough of "fake college stories and saas bahu fights and cry babies and macho guys entry" plzzz 😃

It actually pains me to see the "decent and close to reality' shows being dejected like this.. and the "blah blah blah disaster shows" gaining so much popularity..actually the shows which are working well these days are the ones which do not have any logic and dont make any sense..

I just hope that BHPH works well and remains the way it is.... i hope its fate is not like rishta.com otherwise im gonna be disgusted of the indian audiences and indian shows once and for all..🤢

At the end, A big HURRAY for BHPH ..May BHPH remain as it is and May shravan and Sanchi remain as they are.. and may the show do wonders.. coz frankly. its the only good show on indian tv right now.. 😃

No offence to other shows, but no matter what anyone says to me here.. the truth is, the other shows arent watchable at all.. Sorry but its the truth..

I just recently started watching Indian telly......well and I started with that overtly ridiculous "D" show and then "G" show....but that was long long back! I could not tolerate all that Trip-Catch-fall routine and those annoying background tunes and confused maateys shedding an Amazon of rivers all the time and so stopped watching that in a few week's time!



This whole "paasionate" couple jab is what I don't get ! I have grown up watching American telly caz hello I live here......and SO all that "passion" and "intensity" and "youth pheeeel" that they are trying to show------well to me it all looks weird and stupid and totally and absolutely CHEESY! Like High school musical cheesy! (No offence to HSM fans....😆 of course! Good thing Efron is cropping himself out of that teeny bopper image!)

Anyhow....so all that jab about Youth liking this so called "passion" and "trip-catch-stare" routine more than the STORY is totally BS! Or may be youth there like it😳 .....

I started watching indian because it looked different from my usual dose of entertainment😆 ...really very very different in some interesting way. However, the moment the show creeps in to that so called "passionate" angle...........I completely loose interest in it and the same thing that I used to like ......well that very thing starts to annoy the heck outta me!


Dunno about others....but I don't want this show to turn in to that stereotypical show NOR do i want it to shut down because it STANDS OUT!

oh dear u r talking about logic in indian shows?? state me atleast one show which has pure logic....if u really want to see the logic then the episodes should not be more than 25 to 30....I totally agree with u Krishy bcoz if u see any of the starone shows they solely depend on these passionate eyelocking, tripping moments(although i'm a big Mayur fan) the best example is the serial 'G' you have mentioned....i remember initially it started off with a different theme but trp's did'nt raise and when they started showing all the passionate moments which are totally "illogical" trp's raised....patha nahi kya mazaa doond lethe hai woh log in those eye staring and tripping scenes...bcoz i'm completely frustrated with the starone shows i started watching BHPH since it's very refreshing...there is an emotional depth and reality in both the characters of Saachi and Shravan and not like 'oh the girl is stunning so i should fall in love'

no one will come at exact point to hold you ....you will fall and get hurt badly ...lol my experience....

why shravan does not change after marriage .....i will ask why should he change? and that is also over night....like sanchi came as fairy and wave her magic wand and alllllllllllaaas.... shravan is completely different person....

no he is not...he is still same....irresponsible.....lost in his own world...

before also many times he put his family in emberrassing situation because of tara....when his family used to go to see girl and he never reach there....leaving his family in dispair...that time also he gave more importance to his so called love for tara over his family's respect....

they are creativng base of his character that how irresponsible and selfish at least for tara he was and how he change gradually because of sanchi and that is called....transformation.....and looks very logical...

we don't want to see timid, shy, submissive main female lead turn into....strong, courageous, super woman in one night that is call marriage...

and very logically and slowly they are developing sanchi and shravan's character....that how shy and reserved sanchi is chaning herself or bringing her real self when her life united with shravan...and vise versa....

young generation who does not understand the depth of the emotions and relation only spend time watching those so called glam show who does not have any story or anything.....in real life if the meet those arrogant kind of character i bet they will run away on first available moment............

Geet started with social issue and message and it was on verge of closing down because it was not giving TRP and suddenly they brough some mr. hotty and took story to PRide and PRijudice way....mr.darcy..way..and wow...its like hot cake.....

anyway....everyone has their own choice...but problem is at part of SOny too who is not promoting their show proparly.,..

So rightly said dear.😊......And although i won't blame the people or makers who watch/make glam shows, 'coz tv is for entertainment and teenagers usually like 'emotionally hollow but glamorously full' shows!😳....i myself have been like that......but yeah, the fault is on the part of Sony TV......BTW i really liked the reasoning you gave for Shravan's gradual transformation.😳

And about Geet...can't agree with you more!🤔....A few months ago,TB had started publishing news regarding the closure of Geet....and see now, it's raking so high trps.....but on what basis?😆----> Those extremely hot passionate scenes which you can't even watch with your parents sitting beside you!😳........😆

@Rishta.com- 😭...don't even ask me how bad i felt when i came to know that it won't have a 2nd season!😭......i always say, it was a show for the 'Classes'....the 'Masses' won't like it naturally!.....And unfortunately, Indian TV survives on masses!......But i guess, had YRF people launched their show on Star Plus or Colours.....Rishta.com would have created history!!......'coz the show had a novel concept, so it NEEDED promotion....and Sony is toh THE BEST in promoting shows!!...so uska wo haal toh hona hi tha!....
Anyways, i too really hope dear that BHPH remains the way it is! It really hurts to see a good show changing it's track line just 'coz of TRPs, especially when the viewers are 'loving' the original track!
