I just recently started watching Indian telly......well and I started with that overtly ridiculous "D" show and then "G" show....but that was long long back! I could not tolerate all that Trip-Catch-fall routine and those annoying background tunes and confused maateys shedding an Amazon of rivers all the time and so stopped watching that in a few week's time!
This whole "paasionate" couple jab is what I don't get ! I have grown up watching American telly caz hello I live here......and SO all that "passion" and "intensity" and "youth pheeeel" that they are trying to show------well to me it all looks weird and stupid and totally and absolutely CHEESY! Like High school musical cheesy! (No offence to HSM fans....😆 of course! Good thing Efron is cropping himself out of that teeny bopper image!)
Anyhow....so all that jab about Youth liking this so called "passion" and "trip-catch-stare" routine more than the STORY is totally BS! Or may be youth there like it😳 .....
I started watching indian because it looked different from my usual dose of entertainment😆 ...really very very different in some interesting way. However, the moment the show creeps in to that so called "passionate" angle...........I completely loose interest in it and the same thing that I used to like ......well that very thing starts to annoy the heck outta me!
Dunno about others....but I don't want this show to turn in to that stereotypical show NOR do i want it to shut down because it STANDS OUT!

But ya, you are right, there is certainly a different mind set of youth in India and that in America.😊 And it's all 'coz of the different cultural values of the 2 countries.😊
Why else do you think that shows like- Rishta.com and Mahi Way don't work here?😊
Because here we have been used to watching Ekta Kapoor's type romantic love stories, where a VAMP is a must!🤔 But i don't blame her for making such shows! 'coz may be you don't witness it, but here, inspite of it being 21st century, the society still believes in those age old rituals! (the bad ones included🤔).....So you see, the whole thing is different from the grass-root level!😊....That's why we( Indian youth) have different imaginations/definitions when we talk of romance! 😳
But above all this, it's one thing which can never change- and that's 'Quality'.😊 A bad quality thing SHOULD never be accepted, never mind how well packed it's from outside!😊 But here, it doesn't work! Here, the thing which glitters is ALWAYS considered a gold! now you may call it a bad luck or anything, but it's a fact!
That's why even very poorly scripted shows work here, provided they are promoted well; while the ones with real goodness, trip over just 'coz they don't SHOW OFF!
