From the bubbly Kittu in Sahara's Kittu Sab Jaanti Hai to the dreamy Kokila in Sab's new show Papad Pol, Ami Trivedi who was recently seen in Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bolo believes she is lucky enough to bag another comedy show on Sab. TellyChakkar caught up with Ami to know how much she relates to Kokila.
papad Pol is almost like a comeback show, though you were seen in Sajan Re Jhooth Mat Bolo…I would say I am lucky to bag this show. When I did Kittu, the character was more my age, I could identify easily with the character. But Kokila is very different and I am glad to play it.
This is your second show as the lead after Kittu Sab Jaanti Hai, how different is Kokila from Kittu?Completely different! Kittu was me, her thoughts, her principles; her actions were more like me. I would behave the same way if I were Kittu. However, Kokila is completely different, someone I have never played so far.
you are trying a different genre altogether, something, which many actors find difficult to portray. How difficult do you find playing a comical character?I believe it is extremely difficult to make people laugh. I am a part of Sajan Re so I can say it is not easy doing comedy. It is a challenge for any actor to do a comedy show. It is easy playing a normal character in a drama series probably but comedy is definitely tough.
How is your relationship with Swapnil Joshi considering he is known for his comic bone?It is extremely easy working with Swapnil. It is not my first show with Swapnil because I am also working with him for a show on DD which requires us to be together. That too is a comedy show. Papad Pol would be my second show with him. However I cannot comment much about Papad Pol now because it has just been two days I have started shooting with him.
Tell us a little more about your character Kokila?Kokila is a dreamy person. She has high ambitions and aspirations. Kokila lives and builds her own world. She also has many expectations from her life. She wants the perfect guy for herself. The perfect guy in her definition would be someone who is a mixture of all Bollywood characters. She will eventually get married to Swapnil in the show. There are many nuances and expressions unique to Kokila the audiences will know once they see her.
You have a different look in the show, tell us about that?Yes, I have a different look. As of now, Kokila is not married but when she does, she will be seen in Gujarati saris. Personally, I have never been seen in saris on screen. I have a very long choti that touches my feet. Even in the posters and hoardings, you can see the long choti that has already become the talk of the town.
Are you also looking at movies or reality shows?Yes, definitely! Why not, but that is future. As of now I am concentrating on Papad Pol and Sajan Re on Sab (smile[/align]
