heya guys i just came back from the cinema hall!!!just caught Rajneeti First Day First Show!!!!
i know there is a separate topic for all reviews....but this is not a critical review i'm posting...its a personal review as an audience...so i hope this topic won't be closed...(mods pleeeeeeeeeeease let it remain!!!!!)
Rajneeti is an adaptation of the Mahabharata....a beautiful one at that.
you will fall in love with Samar Pratap...the innocent boy who doesn"t want to understand the intricacies of politics...and wants to keep the demon in him inside....you will fall in love with him as he is forced by circumstances to become the master conniver....
you will fall in love with his eyes...so filled with grief,with sorrow,with frustration,with a diabolic,revengeful look....yet sad...because he never wanted to do what he was doing......
you will be in awe when you discover his masterstrokes one of the other....and his transformation from the boy who just wanted to get his Ph.D done and settle abroad to the demon going around causing mayhem.
Ranbir Kapoor's is the best thing about this film.watch him ,guys.laugh with him.cry with him.live the transformation with him.
Katrina's role is short,but she lives up to it,as the feisty Indu,head over heels in love with Samar,to the hurt Mrs.Indu Prithvi Pratap,so used by the one she loved most,Samar.watch her for her expression when she sees Samar hug Sarah,and realizes that Sarah occupied that coveted place in Samar's heart she so desired.
Arjun Rampal does justice to the eccentric Prithviraj Pratap...feisting on women,pampering his Chote(Samar),silently loving Indu and finally giving up his life.At times it was like watching Arjun the Supermodel,but he was good.his best performance till date.
Nana Patekar was BRILLIIANT.from guiding everyone to becoming the perfect Krishna for Samar,he is what we call an experienced actor.
Naseeruddin Shah had barely ten minutes,but he was very good.from his sober demeanour to a gulty man,he was indeed very good.
Manoj Bajpai was the true Duryodhan,power-hungry...a person who could do anything to get his throne.
Ajay Devgn cud have been given a little more screen time,considering how good he was as Karna...vindictive,rebellious...yet soft-hearted.its a beautiful scene when he refrains from killing Samar even he has the chance,just because he is his younger brother.
a very cute role is that of Sarah Thompson,the love of Samar's life.its only around her he becomes human,and a smile lights up his face.
note-for the romance part,RanKat have a really cute chemistry...but if you wanna find true love,watch it first for ranbir-sarah and then Prithvi-Indu.
the movie belongs to Ranbir Kapoor,though.i'd be shocked if he doesn't win the Best Actor In A Negative role awards.
i'd rate it 20 out of 10!!!do go watch this movie!!!
