Seems like we talk a lot about moral standards and Indian culture and so forth on this forum. I came across a very interesting historical document, which seems like a mirror image of what India has become today. I hope that the foundation of India never changes, which are its moral standards, customs, culture and teachings. Take a look and please feel free to share whatever your thoughts are about OUR changing nation. (just keep it healthy 😉)

Very true about our India. IMO, India would be at the top as far as culture, heritage, values and spirituality is concerned, but too sad that Indians themselves dont realise this and try to immitate Western culture, when the West itself is looking @ India and appreciating it, and trying to copy India in several aspects like Meditation, Ayurveda, Yoga, etc.
Maybe its a case of 'Grass is always greener on the other side'!

I thought it was very interesting because what he is saying to do to bring India down is what is going on in India today. "everything foreign is better" . Indian is changing fast, and though at some point its great, I just hope that the changing ways don't change the foundation. A house can be build in all different ways but if the foundation isn't strong, it will only come crashing down. Our strength is our moral and eithical standards, and that is the only thing I believe sets India apart from all other nations.

Our culture is very rich..you know there is a popular saying " 100 mein 90 beimaan, phir bhi mera desh mahaan"...the main obstacle in our progress is corruption and nepotism...
But I am sure, still there is a little hope left..only we need selfless leaders like them to lead the country...
when Obama passed the health care bill, he was not 100% sure that he will succeed, but still he tried, because he had promised that to the masses. He sort of put his presidency at stake, but still followed what he ahd promised, without thinking of the consequence...this is what is needed in a leader. When our country leaders of today think of anything, immediately their main concern become the vote bank and that stops them from taking a positive step.

@ taral i loved the post
Indian culture is rich and diverse and as a result unique in its very own way. but we are loosing identity by imitating westerns . In fact taking gud points of them we indians generally r picking their negative points and they r picking all the gud points😆 e.g. Yoga , healing by meditation got more famous and researched in westren countries .

u r so right...u know, my trainer, who is an American, she loves everything about India..she goes to eat Indian food every weekend, she loves our dresses, she is just all for India///..its not only her, there are so many foreigners who goes to India for Vipasana classes etc...to visit Varanasi, to get a feel for the Indian culture.
our gym now is full of yoga and meditation classes...the Zumba class was dropped to make room for a yoga class...that shows how rich our culture is...

Instead of protecting our culture we used to go gaga over westerns culture.Every culture has itz gud and negative points and we should have to accept the gud points widout loosing our own identity and culture .SEE the post also hw he noticed the weakness here and talking about advantage from here lol

That is exactly what I am scared off. That "wanna be westerner" notion will bring India down, not as a country, but the true essence of India tha we are so proud of. I have lived in the USA almost all my life, yet I try to hold on to as much as I can. My sisters have went to school in India so they have the ablity to read, write and even understand customs much better then I can. However, my mother has instilled almost every moral standard possible from the indian culture in us. Thus, we are who we are today and I am very proud of it and THANK MY MOM FOR EVERYTHING (I LOVE HER, I CANT SEE HER THIS MOTHER'S DAY 😭, NO VACATION 😡). I don't want to be American. But I rather be Indo-American. As much as I am a ABCD sometimes (clueless😆), I am just as Indian. That balance needs to be created in India also, so that we can pass our customs down for generations. But looking at teens not only in India but here in the USA, I am so disappointed. Number one being the respect they give to parents, zero! And I am not saying all, but many. Its just not India, its all the little Indias we Indians have created all around the world. From Jersey City, NJ to Little India, Singapore, India is everywhere and instead of being proud and holding on to that special x-factor that sets us apart, we are hell bent over to changing it.
