Yes this is one of her best well known songs. This is quite a difficult song to sing as well. As usual she sounds very sweet.
Full 10 for me.

Ok lets start rating

First of all, this is a very exceptional performance for anyone's first album. 👏 I'll go ahead and say I don't think anyone in indian singing HISTORY has gotten off to the start Shreya Ghosal did with her first album in Devdas.

And this was one of her best in Devdas. She showed that amazing voice to the world for the first time. Showed maturity throughout the song. It appeared her high pitch was not good early in her career. In the part,
Tu door jo tha to paas hi tha
Ab paas hai to door hai kyoon

She went high, and her voice kind of got thin.
However, she was great in so many areas. I liked
her the most in the end after Udit came and she
sang her lines for the last time.

Overall, I was struggling between 8 and 9, but
I decided to give 8, because though it had a lot of
9 moments, it wasn't all 9, and the songs that get
9 are the ones that stay at the 9 level throughout.

So

8/10

I disagree with ssk on the high pitch portions. I didn't think her voice thinned much and she did a few harkats in the high notes with a lot of precision. What I find missing in her early renditions was vibrancy - as I said before, her voice was sweet but characterless, reminiscent of Anuradha Paudwal and the young Tulsi Kumar today. It is evident that Shreya hadn't developed a filmi style fully - apart from a few places where praiseworthy attention was given to the lyrics (my fav example of this was when she stylised 'Kang-nah!'), the performance relied largely on hitting the right notes and that's it. The fact that the song creates a mood of longing despite a slight lack of focus on lyrics by Shreya is a testament to the beauty of the melody created by Ismail Darbar.

So, with the nitpicking done, I end up with the same score as ssk: 8 out of 10!
