Update for 10/11/05

This episode was mainly meant for the result of the brahmashtra round.

The show started with all the brahmashtra participants singing the song Tanha dil with Shaan. (all contestants dressed in white with candles- looking nice).

Then each gharana came forward and sang a song together.

The first gharana was Jai ho (AS)- Rajeev, Hemachandra, Himani and Raktima. They sang "chote chote shaharon se.....dhadak dhadak". Rajeev started it a little off........hemachandra was very good. Among the girls- i would say not very impressive- Raktima was nasal and hence i thought did not suit the mood of the song- Himani was ok but i expected her to be better.
After the song, AS came - The singers introduced themselves in different clippings......and then all the other candidates said something about them...one word kind.....then AS commented on the strength of his singers. He said that the public will vote for them if they are good singers.

Next Gharana was ID's- Twinkle, Debojit and Nihira- Rok sako to rok lo.....i was quited amazed at their song selection- but anyway- Nihira was very good as usual- you can never find any faults in her singing- Debojit was also quite good- Twinkle was, in my opinion, not very good- but she made it up by her performance.
ID came and praised their performance after the introductions - about nihira he said that she is from Lata M's land and is very good. Debojit "tension" kumar- will keep his laaj and twinkle is not just good looking but also good singer.

JL' gharana was the next in line- Sharib and Swananda- Chand tare...from yes boss- Swananda was very good- sharib...i don't think this was his kind of song but he was ok.
Introductions were followed by JL saying that you only need two to win and they have them- swananda was compared to asha b....

Last was Vineet from HR's gharana-not sure of the song- i thought he did not sing very well- voice did not sound as smooth as other days. Himesh said that he has full faith in vineet who has started copying his clothes as well. Himesh said that he was excited to find out which two contestants will join his gharana today.

Some drama on the results...........Finally Munjal from Hero honda and Zee tv incharge came and announced. First, Salman's choice- in that among girls ujjaini was the choice..among boys - there was a tie between Aishwarya and paresh.

Now the audience results..the percentage of votes were announced

Sanchali- 6%
Aishwarya- 11%
Joyeeta- 13%
Dilshad- 18%
Ujjaini- 19%
Paresh- 30%

(I am not sure about the percentages....anybody sure let me know.....will make the changes...but sure of paresh's percentage).

So, Paresh and ujjaini are the winners and we have two more contestants added to the Rock gharana.

Paresh and Ujjaini getting a big chuck of public votes indicate how people are going to vote in the agnipariksha round. Stage appeal (looks, personality,performace) is going to count more than the "voice" appeal.

It is clear now that the "Rock Star" Paresh will come much ahead of Hemachandra and Debu and could very well win the C2005. Amongst the girls Twinkle and Himani, with their "glamour and glitter", will steal the show and "poor" Nihira and Swananda will be pushed to the corner.

Sad state of affairs... This show has lost its meaning. I think Gaj-ji should change the name of this show to something else. It is no more Sa Re Ga Ma Pa as merely the sur do not count anymore here.

I think its not fair to leave it for the audience to choose the best in Agnipariksha round. If you look at the history of public voting in such shows (FG, II), looks is the only criteria most of the people go for. I really feel sorry for the SRGMP show. They are doing this just to gain popularity. The purpose of the show has completely taken the back seat now.
I think, good singers like Swananda, Nihira may get eliminated earlier than Twinkle, Ujjaini & Himani, if public poll is to decide the fate of the singers. In the boys too, Paresh may continue his dream run to reach top 3!
It would have been nicer, had they formed a panel of judges & jury to decide winners (anyone remember Zee Cinestar Ki Khoj?)

Hey - was this announced in the episode yesterday? But why should it be like that??

Did anybody notice Twinkle crying yesterday and Sanchali consoling her? Sanchali asked her to keep quiet. Twinkle had no reason to cry. Did anybody comment badly on her when each contestant was supposed to give their opinion about others in one word. I think, Joyeeta behaved badly, she said she does not want to comment on somebody (at least her looks and expression conveyed it).

This was clearly mentioned in the show yesterday- as HR's gharana got the max votes- he has these two contestants as brahmashtra.

Twinkle was crying because sanchali was voted out.......i think it might just a little drama....

The comments on some of the contestants were strange- i am putting some that i remember

Nihira was doll, good singer....for most of them

Swananda sweet, reserved....so on

Vineet was naughty for most

Twinkle was Herione, star...

Sharib was rock star

Some of them said no comments on some....

OK.. I might have missed that part becoz of the power cut 😕

So now we have the final listing as:

AS: 4 singers - Himani, Raktima, Hemchandra, Rajeev

ID: 3 singers - Nihira, Twinkle, Debojit

HR: 3 singers - Ujjaini, Vineet, Paresh

JL: 2 singers - Swananda, Sharib

I thought some of the comments on the singers was quite rude. I had seen some episodes for FG and I fear that SRGMP singers could soon resort to similar bashing techniques to influence the voters!
