During the battle of Mahabharat, a Brahmin appears before Karna when he is about to die having been pierced by Arjuna's arrow, while trying to lift his chariot's wheel. The Brahmin requests for some Dhaan(offering) from Karna. Karna was puzzled as he thought, if I was about to go to the Battle-field I could have given a Yatra-Dhaan or if my life was not ending I could have given him a Jeevan Dhaan, but at the moment I dont. have anything to give to him. Karna, the supreme man of charity, cries that he does not have anything to give this Brahmin.
The Brahmin reminds him that he can give him the mountain like punya, the Karmaphal which he has accumulated throughout his life with his matchless Dhaan. Karna had given Kavach and Kundal Dhaan to Lord Indra. Karna feels happy that he has now got something to give this Brahmin. He spontaneously does so without any further thought. And at that moment he sees the Brahmin transforming into Lord Krishna.
Why did Kanha do this? Why did he ask Karna for Dhaan even at that desperate moment? Why did he take away all his punya? Is it a cruel act of Krishna? No. It is very easy to get misled by such erroneous thoughts or misunderstanding. It is actually an act of karunya by Lord. Throughout his life Karna indeed did limitless Daan. But he had not performed them as an Arpan(offered) to Lord Krishna. This limits the benefits he will eventually derive out of that punya. But Krishna by asking for and accepting all his punya, makes Karna do the supreme dhana, that of donating all his punya to Bhagavan Himself. This elevates his Daan to a supreme level, as a Bhagavath Arpana.(Krishna Aarpanmasthu). To bless Karna with his bhagya is the real intention of Lord Krishna, while He himself risks being seen as heartless. This is the true karunya nature of God Sri Krishna.
At this juncture, Krishna induces Karna to ask whatever boon he wants. And Karna asks whether there is any boon bigger than dying in the lap of God Krishna with the vision of His Divine face.
Lord Krishna here says that .. "I take upon Myself the burden of acquisition,of new things, and preservation,of old things, of those who worship Me with single minded devotion and who are permanently merged, equipoised, in Me."
Those who worship Krishna, with one pointed devotion, love to Krishna only, He will take care of their well-being at all the times. We should offer all our Karmaphal to Sree Krishna, even if we are accumulating the Punya with lots of Dhana's and Dharma's, the resultant Phal should be offered to God.
God takes care to take these karmaphal from us, to guide us to His Dhaam directly, avoiding a Punarjanam(rebirth).
Hopefully this track is to show how Shastriji passes the test of his duty as a pitha and his responsibilty towards his daughter.........Every Pitha can sacrifice for his own blood, but to go the exteme of sacrificing one's punya for an adopted daughter is sure a test for Shastriji and I am sure he will come out with flying colors.........And this also would be his true Pysthaap/Pryachit for remaining quiet or not fighting for not fighting against the society who did not allow Rads to enter the temple of God(radhika who is the true devotee of Lord Krishna, now Shastriji has to get the same Krishna murthy from his temple to temple of Daksha) and also his Pryachit for keeping quiet, when Amma constantly abuses Radhika and accuses her of being from lowe jaath.(caste)..............(Sri Krishna says: "In the beginning men had but one caste known as Hamsa" .In the Bhagavadgita, the Lord proclaims; "The four castes were created by me to function according to individual qualities and inheritance".)
Lord Krishna says: He who does his duty in consonance with his innate potentiality incurs no sin"..and since Shastriji is doing his duty, i.e. marrying his daughter in a manner that no one points finger at her, I think he is incurring no sin, but punya.............
Hence according to me, this is not only praychit (penance) but also ultimate test of faith for Shastriji., similar to the ultimate test what Dev gave during the kshama Vrat and Radhika had given many a times earlier like Dandavat Parikrama...........Also, this opportunity, I think, Kanha has given to Shastriji to return the favors of Radhika...........Radhika ke kitne rinn hain iss parivaar per, usse utar ne ka mauka mila hain Shastriji ko.................
My naman to Shastriji.........................I will end my post with following lines from the aarti:
"Tera tujko arpan kya laage mera..........Om jai Jagdish shahare.................."
Your thoughts....................
