Friends,

I was thinking about what are the Pros/Cons of such Reality shows on TV...

Here are few of mine:

Pro - All the cons of the storyline serials are actually pros for such serial..

1) The Biggest Pro is THERE IS NO EXTENSION !!!!!!!!!!!! & End is in sight!!

2) No Issues like completely unrelated current track vs Original storyline (if there is any)!!!

3) No self- sacrificing irritating or larger than life characters to "Jhelo"

4) Get to know the true nature of the participants (even if the show is scripted!!)

Cons

1) Do anything for TRP

2) Few people (Telecom company, serial makers) make too much unaccounted money from the SMS etc.

3) No accountability on results.

....

I will add more as I think about them.........

Good post sme123. I agree with the pros but differ with the cons no2 and 3. The money is audited by reputed auditing firms both at the telecom cos and the channel house. In cons I think the high degree of aggressiveness, manipulativeness and use of expletives is undesirable.

for me ....the biggest advantage of a reality show is it will reach its end within certain time limit as u already mentioned

i dun get addicted to reality shows at all .........like in soaps if i get intrested in any and feel bad when my fav show bcums a torture ....here ...even juss while watching it in breaks will do!

its highly unpredictible ....sum amount of suspens and thrill is alwayz there........soaps r pretty predictible now a dayz ...i feel i m the writer of teh show sumtimes!!😆😆😆

disadvantages ...............they show obscenity sumtimes to garner trp cuz of which its difficult to watch it wit ur family!

i dun agree on they earning on sms's as a disadvantage ...cuz thts their business ......they create a show to make money ....and anyway its upto us ..whetehr to waste our money there or not
