Top 10 Movies On Romance On The Road
Romance on the road. Don't we all love that kind of stuff? You go on a journey, meet a good-looking and like-minded person and hope something comes off it. Usually it doesn't.

Jab We Met:
Jab We Met is a modern-day story of two drastically different people from irreconcilable backgrounds who meet on a journey to Bhatinda. Geet (Kareena Kapoor) is on her way to marry the love of her life Abhimanyu. Aditya (Shahid Kapoor) meets her on the way and helps her out of a difficult situation, little knowing that he will eventually have to escort this bundle of troubles to Bhatinda and later Shimla.
They travel through Rajasthan to Bhatinda to Shimla and somewhere along the line discover love. One of the biggest hits of 2007, both Kareena and Shahid are superlative in this fun flick.

Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin:
This classic remake of Chori Chori and It Happened One Night is the story of a runaway heiress Pooja Dharamchand (Pooja Bhatt) who is on her way from Bangalore to Mumbai to meet her love. On this trip she meets an out-of-job journalist (Aamir Khan) who offers to help her through the journey with discreet plans of using her story to earn a good buck.
Sweet little cupid strikes and the two fall in love on their journey amidst beautiful locales and great music. Romance can't get sweeter and you can always look it up for a great evening with your sweetheart.

Chori Chori:
The original makes it to the list as well. Here Kammo (Nargis) is the rich, spoilt daughter of her multi-millionaire dad who is worried she might marry a guy who is after their wealth. She however runs away from her father's disapproval to marry the love of her life - a Casanova pilot.
But on her journey of four days she meets Sagar (Raj Kapoor) who changes her from a brat to a soft-hearted lady. The father is elated with this change and agrees to her marriage with the pilot. But it is not long before Sagar returns to change things and get the woman he knows belongs to him.

Mann:
A womaniser Dev (Aamir Khan), who is ready to marry a rich tycoon's daughter for her money, sets sail to sow his wild seeds. But this journey on a cruise from Singapore to Bombay changes his life as he meets Priya (Manisha Koirala). While they initially become very good friends, Dev and Priya soon truly fall in love with each other.
Dev goes back a changed man and begins life afresh, trying to build his life and fortune brick-by-brick to marry Priya. The desperation, the intense love, the romance, keeps you hooked. And yes, the ending is An Affair To Remember.

Just Married:
Just Married , directed by Meghna Gulzar, is the story of a married couple. No, they are not yet in love. Esha Deol and Fardeen Khan are a newly wed couple in an arranged marriage and they fall in love only on their honeymoon. It's a journey to Goa, which turns out to be a voyage of ups and downs as they get to know each other better.
On this trip they meet many other couples with different stories and they come back having learnt a lot about love, marriage and togetherness. An interesting story with a lot to teach married couples as well as lovers.

Bunty Aur Babli:
This corny tale, inspired by the narration style of Asterix comics, is the story of two runaway lovers Bunty (Abhishek Bachchan) and Babli (Rani Mukherjee). When they set out from their houses they are lovers of fame, fortune and freedom. Fate brings them together and instead of becoming a business czar or a beauty queen (as they set out to do) they land up becoming master con artists. Their frauds win them not only money but also a lot of fame. In their journey across the country they also fall in love with each other and eventually get married. Great cast, superb performances and rocking music.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge:
In this romantic hit of all times, no one's running anywhere. In Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge , Raj (Shahrukh Khan) and Simran (Kajol) come across each other on a beautiful trip to Europe. This is Simran's last trip with friends before she gets married to a Jat in Punjab. But on this trip she falls head-over-heels in love with Raj.
Raj also goes bananas and does everything under the sun to win back the girl he met on an eventful trip. This film literally has everything - comedy, action, romance, family drama, locations! Easily the most-loved love story in recent times.

Bombay To Goa:
Bombay To Goa is an adventurous love story with a twist. Mala (Aruna Irani) is a wannabe film star who has just witnessed a murder for money. She runs away from her parents and the murderer and boards a bus from Bombay to Goa. On this adventurous journey she meets Ravikumar (Amitabh Bachchan), who falls in love with her. He protects her and accompanies her throughout the journey.
This love culminates at the end of the journey as Mala reaches home safely and into the hands of Ravikumar. A popular romantic film, this movie is also great for its music and characters.

Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge:
Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge belongs to the David Dhawan era of filmmaking when foreign locales were the USP of many romantic comedies. Sapna (Karishma Kapoor) runs away from her idiosyncratic uncles to have an independent time on a holiday abroad. On this trip she meets Raja (Salmaan Khan), who is out there only to make her fall in love with him. But Sapna is unaware and after some catfights and comedy, she does fall in love with him. The romance develops on this trip and they come back home to convince her uncles to marry her to Raja. It's a romantic twist of tales with good music, laughter and love.

Hadh Kar Di Aapne:
This is another slapstick romance set in Europe where Anjali (Rani Mukherjee) and Raju (Govinda) are both pretending to be someone they are not. It is a comedy of errors where the two fall in love with the beauty of Europe and with each other.
But thanks to the appearances they have been making, serious confusion ensues and the two are separated even before they return. But like all comedies and romances, it's a happy ending for the estranged lovers who come together after all mayhem is cleared.
