Radhika rushed past the street. she had spotted a cab at last!
But the relief disappeared from her face when she found the owner of the cab stupid enough to leave his cab empty on the middle of the deserted street! "Damn damn damn!!!!!!" Radhika grumbled to herself.

A car came and stopped beside her. Dev asked "Need help..... again?!", with a teasing smile.
"Thanks but no thanks! I can manage you know!!!!" retorted back Radhika irritated....
Saying this she runs over to another cab speeding up the street. She lifts her thumb asking it to stop.

"You???!!!!" both Radhika and Dev exclaimed at the same moment.

"hey???? Now don't tell me that you know each other, or do you???" Said Max, confused.

"Yes!!as a matter of fact We do max" Dev said. "We even hugged each other you know", he added mischievously.

Radhika was startled. Firstly it was beyond her faintest expectation that she would land up meeting Dev once again, and that too through a common friend. Secondly, she didn't want Dev to spill the beans about her helplessness the night before..... she felt embarrassed ...... She didn't want Max or Cherry to know about her stupidity'..

Cherry was Max's wife. Max was incidentally Dev's colleague. He was in the same forensic department as Dev's and had been his pal ever since he had been Dev's team-mate during their first years as Forensic medical examiners.He and Cherry had been married 2 years from now. Radhika had been friends with them ever since she moved over to Sydney'..

would she ever forget the immense help and support they had been to her????? God knows how she would have managed even for a day, if it hadn't been for their kindness and help'..

"Hugged???? Wohhoo!!!!!" Max teased, eyeing both Dev and Radhika.... "What's cooking between the both of you??" he continued, thumping Dev on his back.

Suddenly, Cherry's head popped n the room. "Dinner's ready people!!!! Come on in."

"Thanks a lot cherry!!!!!!" Radhika said aloud in her thoughts!!! She felt relieved; at least that stupid Dev would keep his mouth shut now hopefully.

"I'll help you serve" she said.

Soon Max, Cherry, Dev and Radhika were sitting together on the dining table, begging with the starters.

"So'.. how did both of you meet???" suddenly Max said.

"Huh??????? Ooohhhh.....uumm......eeerrrrr car!!!!!!! Yes!!!!! Uuuhhhh my car broke down, so and soo..I'..I'..I asked him to give me a lift, and he obliged!!! Yes!!!!that's how we met..... right" Radhika replied, even before Dev could open his mouth.

"Huh?????????!!!!!" Dev exclaimed with utmost surprise.

He was about to open his mouth to tell Ma and Cherry the reality, but withdrew his decision, when Radhika gave him a disapproving sort of a look.

"Oh, yeah.that's right.it was only a matter of chance'" said Dev.

They resumed their dinner. Max, Cherry and Rads were chatting away, when Radhika noticed how engrossed was Dev in his dinner. He was simply eating, eating and eating away! "How gross!!!!", Radhika thought. "Strange guy!!!!"

"You'll rot your inside, if you eat at this rate Dev" said radhika> she just couldn"t help herself!!!!
"am sorry" said Dev with his mouth full. "I forgot to have lunch today!", he smiled.

"Gee, Dave!!!! When do you plan to improve????", cherry asked, amused.

"As soon as he gets married and settled down with the perfect girl. Isn't it boy????", Max asked fondly. He was very fond of his friend.

Dev gave one of his attractive smiles and and shrugged.

"I really have to go now Max!!!! My car broke down , today morning, so I need to take a cab. I should really get going now!!!" said Radhika.

"Today morning??? but you told us that it broke down yesterday when you met Dave???!!!!" cherry asked.

"huh!!!! oh yes!!!! how stupid of me...I mean...my car broke down yesterday", radhika replied nervously.

The four of them had been sitting in the draing room, chatting away. Radhika glanced at her watch. It was almost half-past 11!!!!!

"But......tomorrow's a Sunday Rads!!!!", cherry replied, a bit disappointed. Radhika was undoubtedly one of her best friends!

"But I don't have a transportation", radhika began to protest.

"aahhh, Dave'll drop you home. Won't you Dave???" Max looked at Dev questioningly.

"uh yes sure!!!!!! Why not???!!!!!!" Dev replied.

"No, that's not necessary Max, really!!!! I can manage!!!! Trust me!!! I should get going now then guys!!!

Good night!!! And thanks again for the deliciously lovely dinner Cherry!!! Muah"

She had been standing on the street for the last 10 minutes hoping to get a cab'.without avail!!!!!!

A car came and stopped beside her. Dev asked "Need help..... again?!", with a teasing smile.
"Thanks but no thanks! I can manage you know!!!!" retorted back Radhika irritated....
Saying this she ran over to another cab speeding up the street and lifted her thumb asking it to stop.

Dev was still waiting for radhika. Patiently. But he didn't look towards her. He sat facing the window beside him.

And sure enough Radhika came....or rather.Radhika HAD to come.

Dev heard the door of the seat next to him opening with a hesitation.

"She didn't manage to get a cab quite obviously." Dev chuckled to himself.

"She's........... I really don't know what she is!!!! Strange!!!! Haha!!!"

"So.you had to come didn't you??" said Dev.

Radhika said"yeah'..I'..I didn't quite get a cab'..so......"

Dev drove up to Radhika's home. She had given him the address'.but didn't speak a single extra word during the whole of the 20 minutes on the car!!!!

The car came to a stop at last. Radhika climed out. She began to walk away, Dev got the ignition on. He was about to drive away when suddenly radhika turned back and said "uummm Dev'th..thank you. Good night" and walked away abruptly.

Dev drove away.
