I agree with all that has been said about how all this oh-not-so Mayank. But, ab kya karein. Damage is done. How about hoping to get something good out of this so-called date? Imagine, Mayank does all this and Nupur is initially very excited, happy and showers Mayank with praises in her own style. Mayank is also very happy seeing her happy. His purpose to go through all these pains is served. Then, Nupur notices him being uncomfortable in the outfit that he is wearing or some injury on hand that happened while handling the horse. And, she thinks about all the times in past they spent together without any such things present, like beach scenes or a'bad trip scenes and realizes she was very happy even then and understanding that she is happy not because of all the OTT stuff, but because of the person with her. And, hopefully, M and N have nice conversation and Nupur voices all these and tells him to be just him.

That will be a nice end of the date.

Well I guess it depends on how you perceive Mayank. Personally I don't mind this deviation in Mayank's character it is quite fine with the storyline, thus far I like it. Actually not just Mayank in general all characters change even in general people's personalities change. I mean I am not the same person that I was 5 years ago, now I speak my mind rather than being subtle. I argue rather keeping quite. It is nice seeing Mayank's character development, he is going out there for his girl at times and it is quite nice seeing Nupur becoming shy at times.

Very well said Anu! Being in love doesn't mean you lose you identity or do silly romantic stuff.. Mayank, a practical guy was way beyond this and they have butchered this aspect of Mayank's character.

Yes, the way they both held hands during the rain, so subtle yet so sweet and endearing. The way he covered her hand, she carries on to cover his hand with her thumb and then Mayank covers that bit as well with his pinky finger. How sweet and how adorable was that scene. Can't they just continue showing such beautiful stuff? Is it necessary to move on to extravagant things? And if it is.. then why? 😕 I just fail to understand the reason he's doing this lame stuff!

See yaar! In any show...The actors most of the time copy sumbody..

But I personally dont feel that Mayank is copying sumbody...

Yeah I agree that We want Mayank but I guess u are feeling this because we've always seen Mayank in Akru and saroo mood...And now he has becum Romantic...So people are like "Its nt Mayank..He is copying srk"

So I think that Srk is the only actor who expresses all type of role...And if Mayank expresses all type of expressions so We're thinking dat he's acing lyke Srk...

Mayank has its own style and its looking like he's copying Srk but in actual he's not....

The way Mayank's character is being butchered we might soon even see Mayank coming in a black jacket singing "Mujhko pehchaan lo.. main hu kaun..." The difference will be instead of a car like SRK this time Mayank will come on a safed ghoda to impress Nupur..

At bold....nowhere in your first post have you stated that Mayank is an insult to SRK's characters. But since you have cleared that is your thinking now, I'll take it as ur opinion.

All the movies you have mentioned are some of the finest SRK films and just because Nupur likes SRK doesn't mean that every single thing he is doing is SRK-style. Just because SRK has made the "main hoon naa" dialogue infamouse doesn't mean every other person who goes mouthing that line is trying to act like SRK. Now will you say his wink in today's episode is SRK-style?😕 Because I do know a lot of people who wink! The hand-holding scene, since you are at the comparsion...SRK did that in DDLJ when Raj was singing Jab Pyar Kiya tho Darna Kya and secretly grabbed Simran's hand. What Mayank did is such a copy, according to you? well I disagree what Raj and every SRK character did was Different and what Mayank is doing for his date is his own interpretation of how Nupur's fantasy should be fulfilled.

And just like Nupur said Mayank sab hai par sabse zyada Mayank hai, that is what the creatives are showing. It's only your topic title that makes Mayank not Mayank anymore but an "SRK clone" which I think nobody can ever be. You say he is some sort of bad version of an SRK character and in the same breath you say Mayank is trying to become like Raj or Rahul, whom you love. Isn't that contradictory? Anyway, I'm not trying to convince you of anything. Your views are just your views. But, yes referring to Mayank as any infamous character of SRK, whom one may not have total knowledge of is wrong. So if you are sayign Mayank is not doing anything SRK character like, then why not stop referring him as Raj, Don, or SRK clone? From how I see it, it just seems like you ARE forcing yourself to see Mayank like SRK or one of his characters. 😕

Neha referring to your topic, I never got the Mayank-Raj comparison personally speaking! 😕 The problem is the show and Nupur keeps alluding to this 'Raj' factor itself to justify Mayank going all out-of-character and over-the-top with this date... So we too use the same reference while explaining Mayank's behaviour, afterall thats how the show alludes to him, right??? But when you think about it, had it not been for the show, none of us over here would be comparing him with Raj...

Raj is different from Mayank but an iconic character in his own right, I don't like his name being used by the show-makers to justify Mayank being so OTT and OOC, because Raj never acted over-the-top and his romantic gestures were certainly in-character...
