Betiyaan has deprived us of such potentially explosive scenes like Saras cat fighting with Kajri for slapping Kiran, Menka ripping into Rasik for selling Jhanvi & now this - Menka being dragged of kicking & screaming! How disappointing that the creatives just didn't think of this?
How can Menka forget that Yuvraj took away the life of her suhaag??? After all that, she still stands up for him?? What bakwas!!!
Yes , u see , there is no dearth of women who do such tamashas to get their way in India .............and serials like Betiyaan , in their bid to show good sanskaars and catch the pulse of the masses in India for their commercial success often show the leads bending before such tamashas , and in a sense , encourage this nonsense .
My point is , if u r showing nonsense , show how to nip it in the bud too . Show a tamasha , but show how that tamasha shud be effectively dealt with too . That will not only be entertaining but it will reduce evil in society too . Like show us Jhanvi brushing Saras aside and having a cat fight with Kajri and pulling off the gajras from Rasili's head . Ur so right in saying that Betiyaan deprived us of potentially explosive scenes . Frankly the TRPs wud have gone up , the show wud be a hit .
It is sad but there r many selfish women who take advantage of their experienced years and instead of using them for a good purpose , they use it to pressurize innocent youth into giving into their selfish demands . Or they pressurize their husbands . Like give my spoilt son a larger share in the property . Or , give my spoilt brother money to start a business . Make the new bahu apologize to me for something the poor thing did by sheer mistake .
I know of one very selfish lady who did a big tamasha exactly at dinner time every day in the house when her new bahus had just entered the household . Everynight when dinner was served by the bahus , this lady sat in the bathroom with a sour face and began washing utensils . Their maid wud actually come every night sharp at nine to wash these utensils after their dinner , but this aged lady purposefully did this tamasha . The poor bahus wud repeatedly entreat her to come and sit at the dinner table , but she wud ignore them . Then the two sons wud go to call their mom , standing in the doorway of the bathroom and entreating her to stop washing the utensils saying that the maid wud come within the next half hour . Then the lady wud start saying carry on , eat without me , the maid servant will give notice , the amount of utensils is more now , im reducing her load etc etc . The hot dinner wud get cold , the poor new bahus wudnt eat till this elderly woman came and the sons were at their wits end not understanding why their mother is behaving like this . They repeatedly told her . the maid wont give notice , we r both earning now , we will increase her salay if required , but u come and eat with us . But No . She wud go on washing the utensils till the full house cooled their heels and wud get up only when the maid came ................so that the maid wud scuttle off and gossip in the neighbourhood that the aged lady is doing menial work now although two bahus have come .
Purpose of that lady's actions ? To remove that maid servant and make the two bahus do the washing of the utensils too . That was her real purpose and so this nightly tamasha .
Now one day the youngest son lost his temper . He was an engineer , who poor thing came home after a hard days work just for one meal in the house and everyday this squabbling , this tamasha and a cold dinner . He didnt even have the mood to romance his new wife after this tamasha . One day he snapped , he entered the bathroom , grabbed his mother from under the arm pits , made her stand forcefully and dragged her out of the bathroom and plonked her in the chair at the dinner table . Upon this the lady made a big tamasha and called relatives saying i was insulted in front of bahus , this is what it has come to etc etc ..........but the younger son firmly told his aunts who sided with his mom that this cannot continue , bas . Sheis accusing us of where r sanskaars etc but where were her sanskaars when each night food , which is God in our Hindu culture went cold ? If u encourage her merely coz she is ur sister , take her with u and bear her responsibility . Call me bad if u want , ill bear it , but this every day tamasha will stop , I want peace in the house at any cost .
He was criticised a lot , but a lot of people knew that lady's nature very well , and they supported him . I felt really bad for him , he was a decent chap who had a shrew for a mother . Point is , in this case the bahus were really good , and once he showed this firmness , the dinner ime tamashas stopped !
Aged people rightfully deserve respect yes , but they shud also be their age and act it . If they do nonsense and use their grey hairs to cover it , it shud be nipped in the bud .
