First and foremost this is not a debate on the existence of God nor is it a religious debate. Just to clear the air about assumptions that may rise from the topic. This is a really interesting game on 'The Philosophy Magazine's website'. Basically what it does is test your belief in God or lack thereof for logical consistency. That is the game tests you with questions to see if one of your own beliefs contradicts another one of your own beliefs. So really in this game, you may or may not end up being your own worst enemy. Again this does not judge if you are right or wrong for being a believer or an atheist. It just tests whether your thought process is consistent.

Take the test here.

Here are my results:

"You have been awarded the TPM medal of distinction! This is our second highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.

The fact that you progressed through this activity being hit only once and biting no bullets suggests that your beliefs about God are well thought out and almost entirely internally consistent.

The direct hit you suffered occurred because one set of your answers implied a logical contradiction. At the bottom of this page, we have reproduced the analysis of your direct hit. You would have bitten bullets had you responded in ways that required that you held views that most people would have found strange, incredible or unpalatable. However, this did not occur which means that despite the direct hit you qualify for our second highest award. A good achievement!"

If people are curious about the direct hit I took and my answers, I can send it via PM. I am not posting it here so as not to spoil the game for anyone. Once a few people have played the game I will post my results.

Also once we are done playing the machine how about challenging each other on our beliefs. To keep this completely philosophical and not religious - we will use only concepts no proper names that is no names of any religion, deity, person etc. We can do this only if people are interested in debating in this manner. Remember this is not to be a propagation or defense of your religious beliefs, but a means of challenging yourself for the consistency of your beliefs. This is not for people who are unwilling to have their belief systems challenged or who can only debate on the basis 'Because 'X' states so'. So we can continue on this part if people are genuinely up for it.

Hmm not many people seem to want to challenge their beliefs.

Right now I am busy celebrating them addressing God as "she"😆
I have looked at the link, RTH. Will participate when I have more time at my disposal. It is quite interesting and novel idea for a debate. Count me in....but give me some time😊

My results:
You have been awarded the TPM service medal! This is our third highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.

The fact that you progressed through this activity without suffering many hits and biting no bullets suggests that whilst there are inconsistencies in your beliefs about God, on the whole they are well thought-out.

The direct hits you suffered occurred because some of your answers implied logical contradictions. At the bottom of this page, we have reproduced the analyses of your direct hits. You would have bitten bullets had you responded in ways that required that you held views that most people would have found strange, incredible or unpalatable. However, this did not occur, and consequently, you qualify for our third highest award. Well done!

It's ironic that I can see all three hits coming when I was making my selection for some questions. I knew of the contradictions but still made some of the selections using my heart instead of my brain. It's hard to choose rationality over faith when it comes to certain questions - at least for me it was. If I had used just my brains, I know I would have come out unscratched😆

A direct hit would have occurred had you answered in a way that implied a logical contradiction. The bitten bullet occurred because you responded in a way that required that you held a view that most people would have found strange, incredible or unpalatable. However, because you bit only one bullet and avoided direct hits completely you still qualify for our second highest award. A good achievement!

@ bold - Yeah i held the view that most people find strange was the rapist one. As the Question was logical as the rapist held the view god wanted to do it and all it was correct for him to do on the basis of his beliefs. Yeah i agree it was weird but on basis on his beliefs he was right to carry it out, lol oh well i recieved No hits and only one bullet.😃

Battleground Analysis

Congratulations!

You have been awarded the TPM medal of honour! This is our highest award for outstanding service on the intellectual battleground.

The fact that you progressed through this activity neither being hit nor biting a bullet suggests that your beliefs about God are internally consistent and very well thought out.

A direct hit would have occurred had you answered in a way that implied a logical contradiction. You would have bitten bullets had you responded in ways that required that you held views that most people would have found strange, incredible or unpalatable. However, you avoided both these fates - and in doing so qualify for our highest award. A fine achievement!Battleground Analysis

The fact that you progressed through this activity being hit only once and biting very few bullets suggests that your beliefs about God are well thought out and almost entirely internally consistent. Because you only suffered one direct hit and bit very few bullets, you qualify for our second highest award. A good achievement!
