Britney caught croaking

Britney Spears only lip syncs as her prerecorded song is played. Her live singing is turned down during the performance. Watch her video with only her real voice...it's not singing, it's croaking.

Interesting. sounds funny. 😆 Normally it is not easy to sing, dance and perform at the same time and it is easy top slip up on the lyrics and timings.

Agree with all who have mentioned that KK/Sunidhi are the lucky few who had exceptional talent and were able to get away with no training! Training can only take them higher! I am sure its also true that singers like Kishore da did pick up some form of 'on the job' training over the years. BUt in today's world where the onus is more on technology I dont think this is really possible. After all some singers with a great voice do is record something which is later corrected with technology! Where then is the scope for training???!!
Ofcourse only training and no talent does not help at all!
I am probably digressing 😆 but ... I know a number of parents (I think I am also going to be one of those 😆) who push their kids into learning classical music just for the heck of it! They even give exams and clear them and get certificates but cant sing and in fact dont even grasp what they are learning!!! So classical training does not come easy; u need to research and find a good guru who is willing and capable enuff to teach you! I also know 'gurus' who are great singers and who only sing and do not impart and let u learn/sing 😊

As far as I know, Sunidhi is trained right from childhood

Out of the top 4 today, Shreya is more traine dthan Sunidhi but Sunidhi is not much behind

Shaan and KK are not traine din classical but Shaan was singing diff kinds of songs from a young age. so his exposure to music is quite vast. I guess KK is like Kishore da- his voice may have natural range

but classivcal singing is an sset- that's why shreya and shaan and sonu win awards, and KK and sunidhi doesn't.

Minty, as far as awards are concerned, HR won over Sonu in Filmfare. I am still to get over those goof-ups when Sonu was passed on for HR😡 KK also won an award for Aankhon mein teri ajab si over Sonu this year. I feel all Sonu numbers were far better than the numbers that won (except for aankhon mein teri. I liked this one as well). Therefore, one can't use awards as a yardstick of ones singing talent.

@ minty

when Sunidhi won meri awaz suno on DD she wasn't trained at all, I distinctly remember her singing sajna bin chain na awaey (NFAK) in semi finals..? Then she was advised by swara personified Lata ji to complete training before she takes into commercial film as she was too young but as fate had it she jumped on the bandwagon and completed her training only recently (on job as many said here).

compositon goes flat not the singer here, there are quite a few songs where you find good mukhra and then composer lost interest. (LP in 90s)

yup I agree with you there...it's very common nowadays that the mukhra is very catchy and the antara is boring. very common with HR compositions.

We have all sorts of examples of singers in bollywood who became successful with no training in IC, started training after they became successful, or were very well versed in IC before they landed in bollywood.
There is lot of chori ka maal compositions these days from infinite countries. It will be good idea to be conversant with Korean classical, Hong Kong classical and so on. You hardly see any raga based compositions these days. Harkatein, murqian, in some of the songs are inspired from western music.Examples includes many songs sung by Kunal ganjawala. In fact, Abhijeet once commented on the new harkatein these days saying he would never be able to do that. There is some trend towards sufiana which may not be everybody's cup of tea to sing. In one of the interview Kumar Sanu commented that "doing too much oooo aaaa eeee take away the sweetness of the song.
Can training in Indian classical help with the songs above? Not sure about that. But you definitley need training in the current trends these days to be successful.

You absolutely dont need knowledge of Classical Music to sing in Bollywood, I might even say in this day and age you can spend that energy somewhere else(like learning how to do maintain stage presence, how to develop networking) and make your singing career much better
why else would a Kunal Ganjawala have more hits that Parthiv Gohil?(Just in the frame of the classical singing topic, Kunal has a great voice)
