Seeking balance: Deepa Parab (TOI Photo)
Actresses on most major soaps on the telly are happily married or are going to take the plunge.

The marriage of a Bollywood actress is said to spell the end of her career, with Aishwarya Bachchan having to field questions on whether she will continue to work now. But in the world of TV, that doesn't seem to be a concern at all. Actresses on most major soaps on the telly are happily married or are going to take the plunge, they don't feel that marriage has any adverse impact on their career.

Barkha Bisht
Currently working in Doli Saja Ke and hosting Popkorn Newz on Zoom, she is planning to get married to her co-star and boyfriend Indraniel Sen Gupta, with whom she worked in Pyaar Ke Do Naam, Ek Radha Ek Shyam .

Since the television industry mostly caters to families, my getting married would not affect my career, she says.

Roshni Chopra
She recently tied the knot with director beau Sidharth Anand Kumar and says that life has taken a new turn. She is currently doing Kasamh Se and says that her marriage has only done good to both her life and her career.

Ever since the unit got to know about my wedding, they all help me take time out for my personal life. They give me a lot of space and I feel glad to be part of such an understanding team. So the question of being insecure about marriage doesn't arise, she says.

Rajshri Thakur
She started off with Saat Phere, which is the only soap that she is doing. She got married to her college sweetheart Sanjyot Vaidya soon after the serial started and feels that marriage is the best thing to have happened to her.

I have never faced any issues regarding my marital status. I get along with the whole unit and am lucky to have a family that has supported me throughout. I have never regretted my decision and I see a wonderful career ahead, she says.

Deepa Parab
Currently working in Thodi Khushi Thode Gham, she is also planning to get married this year to a computer engineer.

For her, marriage is a blessing and she believes in her decision. I don't really agree that an actor's career comes to a halt if she chooses to get married. As an actor, I am expected to give my best and that is what professionalism is all about, whether or not I'm married, she avers.
