Every human has some golden rules drilled into their heads when they are children, no kid is an exception, one of the rule is "don't raise your hands against elders", I'm so sure everyone of us heard this from our parents when we were kids, and at some point we'd say the same thing to our kids. When we growup this golden rule absorbed into us in different dimensions. We strictly know our limits with certain people.

The scene shown yesterday, shouldn't be judged at any cost as that needed for the story or the particular situation or they wanted to show how mad/upset that selvam character was with that particular accusation or sivagami character's talk is unacceptable. We can stretch the general rules upto some extent for the sake of the story, can't completely demolish them. There are different ways to make the situation worse instead of make that selvam character slap a lady who is more or less his mum's age, happened to be his mum-in-law, infront of her husband and grownup kids. No matter what ever the reason, THIS CONCEPT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED AT ALL COST.

The only outcome of that scene was selvam's character suffered fatal injuries, because that character fall from a summit of moral strength.

Nowadays in some of the movies, alterntive endings are available, like that if we can get an alternative episode for the previous one, that'd be real
ly nice.

Anavaraikum nandri updates kaaga.
this serial has been picking up in a fast phase. but what happen on this previous episode, yentha ore karanathakum accept pannavei mudiyadhu.
where are the values of not raising hand against women? that too a slap to a lady who is the same age of mother? adukema idha yengaiyavathe? it was a shock to see this episode. as said by netu vani, there are many ways to make the problem big instead of using this slap. everyone one watch this serial, not only women but men. not only adults but kids. and this kind of scene being shown only encourage others to think its not harm to do the same. yennalai indha serial innumei yeppadhi parkaporene teriyalai. i cannot see selvam as how i used to see him. director has completely brought down a character that we all look high upon.
selvam character changing to "uppu pottu thinnirava"? appadina, you have to slap adults? i am very sorry but i totally cannot accept this. and selvam cannot be blame for this character just because he did it out of love for his mother?. totally cannot be accepted. raising hand on a lady is not allowed and this too a lady on your mother age. further more his has slap a lady who who husband standing right beside him. uppu poote sapaderane does not mean you have to show in slap. he could have ask his FIL to control is MIl or he could have just ask them to leave. i believe if he had chased them out, it would not be as worst as slapping her.
overall, i am giving up watching this serial now. i would rather just read the updates than getting my BP boiled up.
happy new year 2009 to vani ponnu, giriadimai, isaitamil and everyone here.

A big thanks to you, Rajammah, for echoing my thoughts and feelings. This story was going well, but the language used has been going downhill and now the last two episodes, well, the less said the better. I hope the director and producers get the message that we are trying to send them here is that they have to tone down on the violence and language and convey their meaning in a better manner. I don't think they have realized the impact they have on the audience, but it is time they did.

Another thing came apparent to me after the slapping scene was that Selvam did what her husband should have done It seems as though u support physical harassment. A husband need not slap to control his wife. A harsh word or stare is more than enough. I am totally against this slapping😡

as with Bhagyam (Poonga slapped her for harsh talking about her mahalakshmi) but for Sivagami there wasn't anyone to control her, This is too funny.😆 So has she been like this always?😕
as a result Selvam slapped her. Dont justify.. u seem to talk like director's man😊
On the other hand, imagine the situation if Bhagyam could stand up? Archana-kku leftum rightum nichayam vizhunthirukkum! Aana hand raise pannuvala against her MIL? This is what is called well brought up. Selvamkku periyappa nermai solli kuduthaar, nyayam solli kuduthaar... aana periyavangala respect panna solli kudukkaliye? 😕

Thanks Nets and Vani for your updates😊
I dont know whether this serial is worth watching from now onwards.😕
Why cant they show this as dream/nightmare of Sivagami?😉

Enna annoo ippadi elaam panuveenga-na naan usual mathri oru sentence comment-eh kudithiruppen.😃 Naan onum husband adikirathu sari-nnu sola varala, just a comparison-kku use paninen and naan Kumaran oda man-ah? No, I was just supporting him for the character sketch of Selvam and this was the main thing that I was trying to get across in my post, but ena ariyamale I went overboard..

So here is a one liner this time rounding up my main point - selvam character could have done such a thing (and still be a positive character), but what he did is unacceptable!😉
appadaa enoda saying-a ippavathu correct-a understand paninaa sari!😃

Yes, Archana should have stood up for her husband at that point. In fact, she should have stood up for her husband a long time back, when her mother poured the sambar or rasam or whatever it was on Selvam's hand. The least she could have done was do her usual "Niruthunga", since now she is aware that Selvam already knew the reason for her marriage being cancelled earlier and had been magnanimous enough to never raise the issue. There should be at least some gratitude for him in her heart.

On the other hand, Selvam also has no right, absolutely no right to raise his hand and slap his MIL, no matter what. His MIL had absolutely no right to tell him that he was not an ambalai at all.

Overall, these are the reasons this serial has become a third rate serial in my opinion. As someone else has pointed out, this is being shown at a time when children are present, and some teenagers may also be watching. Even if all these factors were not present, I feel such scenes of physical and verbal abuse, if seen over a period of time, will subconsciously be absorbed and accepted, both by husband and wife, and at times of extreme stress, then violence will be the result. This was a totally unacceptable scene, even if it is somehow explained by the director and producer.

Happy New Year to all in the section.
Dec 31st, 9am:
Mrs. M : " Giri, I want you here sharp at 6pm and you can't go until the cake is cut at 12 am." Giri, vidhiyai nondhukittu boom boom maadu madiri thalai aatara - pocchu Anandham and TMS paarkka mudiyadhu.
Kids : "amma, comeon where is the song? get us the karoke fast..."
Giri urgently sends msg to Vani and Netra, who kindly help her out with websites🤗( my s-i-l was truly impressed with our IF network👏)
7.30 pm : Giri's mind is revolving around Anandham and TMS. No escape. Time flies.....
Jan 1st ,1 am :
Mr. Giri : " If you go near the computer.. appuram theriyum sedhi..."
10 am : GA eagerly switches on the computer, but the modem refuses to light up.
Giri repeatedly calls BSNL - " connection ellam seekiram varum, porumaiya irunga, madam"
12 pm...... 2 pm..... 5pm.... 11 pm BSNL continues to make fun of GA - "aey, enna GA ? net connection venuma? veh veh veh". GA is seething in anger.
Jan 2nd - 5pm. BSNL is finally showing some sympathy and lights up the modem. TMS enna aachu? GA rushes to the section and reads the episodes....
GA makes urgent calls to Mrs. M, Mr.Giri and BSNL - Thanks for saving from watching all this kind of 'hand raising' violence irrespective of age and relationship. It is simply disgusting.
Thanks Netra and Vani for your efforts, but I am sorry this had to spoil your mental peace.
