All in all the writers gave us a really great 100th episode last night...it was action packed, funny, emotional, angsty and memorable...👏Let's start with Katherine who was the highlight of this episode.
She's on her death bed but she still manages to be that kick-ass woman that she's always been. A survivor. While everyone was doing shots remembering how much bad things happened to them because of her, Stefan was the only one that sat at her bedside and was there for her. He didn't say he forgave her but out of everyone he understood her for who she was and why she was that way.
The episode was entitled "500 years of solitude" - Kat has been on the run doing everything she needed to do to survive and she made no friends only more enemies. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried when Stefan gave her peace in what we thought were her last moments. When she said she doesn't deserve to be loved...I really felt it for her. She had no one and she may be strong and a big talker but I believe that she wanted that more than anything and I loved how the memory she came back to was her parents death because since we'd gotten her story in Season 2 it was clear how much her family meant to her.
Kat's one of those characters- flawed like Damon...she's not the nicest person...but she's a dynamic character that has so many layers that you can totally understand her if you're being objective.
As for the end, what happened there was something I REALLY didn't want to happen. Because Kat sucks at being Elena and it's only a matter of time before someone figures it out! And Kat was supposed to pass through Bonnie. When she doesn't isn't that a BIG giveaway? 🤔
THE RETURNS:
Me getting nostalgic to see Jenna and Alaric, even Vicky, John and The Originals! It was really great bringing everyone back in some way to give us that little sense of reunion and nostalgia. 😳
THE DOPPELGANGER PROPHECY:
Stefan and Elena really meant to be? I'm not sold on this...frankly I'm glad that Stefan pushed Elena not to give up on Damon and really Matt was right...pining after her for years and then he just lets her go? Buck up Damon and stop feeling so self-loathing. Damon blamed Katherine for every bad thing he's done and really she's connected to all the Mystic Falls gang but I believe that every one has a choice and are responsible for their own actions. Kat may have made him a vampire but he could've chosen differently in how he lived that undead life...just saying-
But back to the prophecy and that memory Kat had of her seeing Stefan for the first time and how the feelings were indescribable...it's a maybe that the prophecy might be true but I'm not totally convinced.
THE ORIGINALS RETURN:
KLAROLINE:
FINALLY! Yes us Klaroliners have waited with bated breath for this moment...I just wished Klaus hadn't promised never to return...So no more Original/TVD cross-overs?
I loved the traded lines and Klaus asking Caroline to be honest with him... and her showing him how she really felt about him ☺️
Even though it feels like they just gave us that moment to please our ship feels I'm happy! That Caroline admitted that she doesn't hate Klaus as much as she pretends.
TYLER: He's back from New Orleans. Out of all the characters they've killed off on TVD I wonder every time why Tyler is still around...he seems to serve no purpose to me...(NOT A FAN). Out of all the characters Tyler's usually the one around least...I don't see his necessity...I would rather have Alaric still be around instead of Tyler (my opinion...no offense to Tyler/ForWood fans)
-*-
Rebekah rescuing Matt...I know she has a thing for Marcel on The Originals but I've always liked Matt and Rebekah together! 😳
-*-
Elijah wasn't there really just Damon messing with Kat but we saw that she did truly care for Elijah...her face lit up when she saw him.
A really good well-rounded episode that I won't soon forget for one big reason (Klaroline 😆)
A FEW THINGS TO NOTE:
-I'm sure the blood taken from Stefan and Elena will come into play soon enough...they played it off as nothing but I feel it's important.
-There are spoiler pics of Nadia and Damon confrontation so I think it becomes clear really soon that Kat's in Elena.
-Will Stefan lose that compassion when he realizes what Kat has done? Possibly...we all know how crazy everyone gets when Elena is in trouble And one other thing I liked in this episode was Elena forgiving Katherine...it seemed poetic somehow but I'm sure it became null and void the minute Kat took over her body *le sigh*
- Delena will soon get back together I think...
and that's all my thoughts 😆
