First it was her denial phase where she strongly held her hope that her brother will come back to life. Then when Bonnie explained the whole process told by Shane (Silas) of releasing every monster that is stranded in purgatory away from peace by dropping down the veil, grief struck Elena when the truth slowly sunk in and she began acceptance took over that Jeremy really is dead and she has lost him forever. Then when Damon told her to switch off her humanity to not feel the pain of losing a loved one, Vampirism took her over. It was as it she was a robot with no feelings or care. Her emotionless phase where she held her and her brother's broken photograph was very touching, yet she felt nothing since the vampire inside of her had taken over. đ
So today in terms of the layers of a character, we really got to witness many sides of Elena in a single episode and it was very well done đ. Nina Dobrev deserves many accolades for portraying so many emotions so beautifully. âď¸
Nina was really the star of the show today âď¸. Hats off to her for understanding and enacting the depth of Elena's character magnificently.đđź
