Why did Damon destroy that room?

Was he angry that Stefan had killed Andie? Was he still reeling under the shock that Stefan - his nice goody-goody sweet little brother could claw his bloodbath side again? Was he hating Stefan for becoming something diabolical that Damon only used to tease him about but never believed that he would like to actually see Stefan dripped in somebody's blood?

Maybe its all of the above or maybe its not. Damon is not easy to comprehend because he doesn't talk. He doesn't talk about what hits him , what hurts him , what moves him. Nothing. He hides every ounce of his feelings - be it for Stefan or Elena or himself - in bubble baths , champagne and tall glasses of bubbly. You can't really say what is going on inside Damon at this point when he has lost Stefan to Klaus and is trying to take care of Elena and maybe everything , including himself. But two scenes in this episode - with Stefan and Damon alone in Stefan's room , ravaging it gave away the chinks in his armour.

I know many people thought it was Damon's dark sarcy humour when he just sensed Stefan , without even seeing him and smirked at him - you don't call, you don't write. Yes, he was smirking but he didn't have to say those words. He could have said something much worse or crude looking at what Stefan has become. But no. Damon used these words and it shows that Damon misses Stefan's presence in his life. A time when Damon and Stefan were beginning to rediscover what they had lost - when they were beginning to bury the dark behind them and above all , standing up for each-other and trusting each-other. A time when Damon had his 'family' back - BOOM! Suddenly , all that mending work was lost with one werewolf bite and one suicidal sacrifice. Of course it hits Damon that Stefan is no longer around him - not lurking around the house , not making plans with him , not talking to him and not sermonizing him. That 'You don't call, you don't write' came from that lonely elder brother who should be hopping around Elena now that Stefan is gone. But that is not Damon's character. Elena is with him , around him but Damon is spending his life trying to look for Stefan , tracking his every move , hoping against hope that Stefan can be brought back. And i refuse to belive the surface fact that he is doing it for Elena. No. He is doing it for himself and his little brother.

Secondly , when Damon entered Stefan's room , totally zonked by what he had seen of Stefan , he was ravaged by thrashing feelings and an emotional upheavel of hatred , guilt , remorse , frustration and pain. He feels guilty because he thinks that he is responsible for Stefan's state. Its not his fault that a werewolf bite with a dollop of a sexy Klaus twisted his and Stefan's destiny . But how do you live with the feeling that somebody is dying so that you can live. Somebody has gone and dived into darkness just so that nobody takes away the light from you? And in Damon's case , this 'somebody' happens to be his Stefan. Damon can't blow his nose into tissues or let out that sinking feeling to anyone and he can't afford to be weak either. Every day , ever second, he lives with the hammering thought that Stefan sold himself to Klaus for him. Somewhere he feels that Stefan is lost because of him and he must find him. But he cannot voice any of this. The anger that resulted in ravaging of Stefan's room was at Damon's own helplessness and Stefan's refusal to take any help. Just look at Damon's face when he is unable to break that guitar and stands over the lamp. Its his realization and accepted anxiety that what if Stefan , as in good Stefan delves so deep into the monster inside him that Damon never sees him again? And how is Damon supposed to help or save Stefan if Stefan refuses to be saved?

You know what showed Damon's love for Stefan in this episode? That entire route map and tracking of Stefan that Damon has been doing for months without fail and it doesn't even concern Elena. That Damon destroyed Stefan's room in an emotional lurch because he can't deal with this slap from Klaus that he has taken Stefan away from him. That the first thing Damon tells Stefan upon seeing him is-" You don't call , you don't write."

Ironic, isn't it? Damon always used to tease, ridicule and jibe at Stefan for being weak , for not accepting the devil inside him and for being a apology in the name of the vampire. And today when Stefan has become what Damon always wanted him to be , Damon can't deal with this version of Stefan for more than 5 miliseconds. Fate and its really dark sense of humour delivered to Damon.

We can scream Stelena , Delena and the blah because of that universal pull towards a man-woman's love and its tests. But lets admit it . TVD's greatest and deepest relationship is THE SALVATORES. A story of two brothers who were , who are and who will always live in each-other - in love , in hatred , in life , in death and beyond it.

Love and luck always,❤️
GOD bless everyone. 🤗

I shall start with your last line, that regardless of whether we are Stelena or Delena shippers, one thing that neither set of fans can deny is that these two brothers are just as incomplete without each other as they feel their favourite couples are. Chaks and I were just wondering yesterday how Damon had managed to survive without Stefan for 15 years. Maybe relying on the fact that somewhere at the back of his mind, he knew Stefan was there and was what he'd always been and was known to be.
Now, it's been just a couple of months, yet, Damon is missing him more than he probably had in those 15 odd years. Reason can be because more than his physical presence, Damon misses what his little brother used to be once and what he has been forced to become now all for his sake.
Yep! Somewhere, Damon does blame himself for the fact that both he and Elena have lost Stefan, maybe for now, maybe for longer, maybe forever. That uncertainty is what kills him and what scares him is what he might see/hear Stefan do next as an obligation to repay Klaus for his blood which saved Damon's life. No letter, no call, Damon was aware of Stefan's 'ripper' avatar but what had exactly become of him was something he was still assuming. He feels helpless because despite his best efforts, he is not being able to bring Stefan back and when he destroys that room, breaking everything associated with the Stefan he misses so much, we see that hollowness and emptiness he'd been hiding inside him all these months finally coming out as he lets go of his strong facade and succumbs to his emotions for his brother as he sees all his fears come true.
Stefan was never weak, Damon isn't being weak. They're just vulnerable. No matter how much Damon ridiculed Stefan, truth was, he loved him and still does and changes are never easy too accept specially such drastic ones.

maan i needed thios topic soo much to went out my feelings !!!!

thanks for giving me the chance..
now let me start with the line i love the most ... no matter if we r delena or stelena shippers.. the one the that none of us can ever deny is that the brothers are incomplete without each other!!!
itsa just like what klauss said..
u can never stop caring for ur family..
as to why damon broke stefan's room
here's what i think

ya he was upset about andy n sorry and upset and angry about what stefan has turned himself into .. but i think the sentiments that were tortouring hin the most at that time was GUILT

guilt abt being responsible for what stefan's has turned into..
guilt abt being such a jerk to him when he was with him before this whole klauss werewolf vampire mess...

remember during his dismissal condition from that were wolf bite???
the first thing that he said to elena there was not i love u ..
it was tell stefan that i am sorry ..
he feels guilt for his past mistake
he feels guilt for the pesent state of stefan
he feels guilt that elena is suffering coz of it all n nothing like that would have happened if not coz of him

add to that the newest guilt of being some what responsible for andy's death
n there u have it , an explosion !!!
these two seasons the thing about damon for which i am sure is that the thing that tends to torture him the most is his guilt feelings.. he starts reeling underneth them ,,, always

according to me thats what made him loose it at end of epi 1..
n from how the things have started looking i think only that can save stefan now
GUILT...

ps- man i love myself when i start writing such essays🤣

Poco🤗
For a moment I didnt know whose post I was reading then i thought to myself that I know this style of writing. It has to be Poco!😳
Anyway lovely post as usual sweetie. And I agree with pretty much everything you said. I think we all have our couple that we love in this show but to me the most fascinating aspect of the show is the relationship between the 2 brothers. Im a sucker for sibling stories anyway(I guess its cos Im so close to my own) but the story of Damon and Stefan has to be one of the most intriguing ones I have witnessed.
I love the growth in their relationship from hate, to reluctant companionship, to uneasy alliance and eventually to trust. And beneath it all is the deep love between the brothers that shines through. And what better proof of that is Stefan selling his soul to the devil to save his brother.
And Damons frustrations and anger all burst out while he was thrashing his brothers room. The brother he relied on to always do the right thing gave up everything including the girl he loved just to save him. And now he is feeling helpless to help him. Imagine his guilt.
I think the story is going to only get more fascinating from this point onwards and I for one cant wait to see how the brothers will deal with everything thats going to be thrown at them.
Take care sweetie.😳
P.S. Your new username is so intriguing...Im guessing you love pink and choclate(me too😛)
Oh and i do hope you start posting again on the IPKKND forum soon. I miss your posts!

I agree with everything you said. More than Stelena or Delena it is the bond of the Salvatore brothers which is chemistrylicious, meaningful and ofcourse keeps the viewers glued to the screen.

Like Neetz said we were discussing it the other day that how Damon who hated Stefan's boredom was shocked and in pain after seeing his monstrous side which he left years ago for good. Damon might claim that he hates Stefan and cannot forgive him for turning him into a Vampire but the truth is that he could never stop loving him only and his concern for his brother is greater than his anger.

Like us , or say more than us, he misses his little brother and the way he used to poke him, irritate him, make strategies with him and above all STAYED with him.

The Salvatore brother's is the usp of this show. Their bond, is strong. Where there is love, there hate also.

Damon does not want Stefan to change into that monster. He know how Stefan becomes when he flips. So now he is scared for him. He some how feels guilty, that because him Stefan became that monster.

If anyone had even an ounce of doubt about Damon's love and loyality towards Stephan it was cleared in the episode.
They cleverly set that cleared with Tylor suggesting Damon might not be interested in finding Stephan to get Alina... but by the end of the episode it was clear that Damon also chose Stephan over Alina just like what Stephan did the end of last season!!
