Feel really bad for Jeremy...... i mean his been through a really rough time..what with loosing his parents and all.... but im hating the way loopy vicky is treating him.....

'loopy vicky' - haha! epic nickname. I think I'm mad with Jere on some level though. He's not the only one who lost someone. Elena lost her parents too, Jenna lost her sister. But Jere's taking it the hardest, and Vicki is not helping.

Tyler and Mr Tanner are both ......Mr Tanner more so than Tyler...how dare he talk to Jenna like that...teri toh...

I know! how dare he right? But the guy's acting is brilliant. got to admit that. And Michael (Tyler) is just so nice to look at.

loved Stefan and Elena's eye flirting......made me blush and grin like an idiot......... *my ma was mega freaked out*......... but yes it was defo very twilighty.... not that there's anything wrong with twilight.... i happen to like both twlight and VD... BUT the men are much more yummy in VD ...

no comment on the Twilight thing? haha. just know that I don't like it - so to refrain from an argument or whatev (though I hope it never comes to that, I like you too much!) let's not bring it up? and RPattinson and TLautner are good looking too, in their own way. VD boys are just hotter. *fans self*

yes, even though caroline sometimes doesn't show it, she does value her friendship with elena, more is shown toards the end of the season

I know right! She's the most underappreciated character on the show, I think. I really hope she stays as sweet as she is. I love Candice's portrayal of Caroline!

actually at this point, I don't think even he realises he still cares about Stefan. I think on some subconcious level, he loves his little brother, but after resenting him and hating him and torturing him for so long, he's forgotten how much Stefan used to mean to him.

preens, thank you, I took those screencaps. unfortunately, they weren't so clear. *pouts* and I think Matt still has strong feelings for Elena - he'll be a good friend to her, but she was his first love, I don't think that'd go away so easily - though from the finale, it's obvious he really cares about Caroline too.

Now, I think the second epi was a bit weaker than the pilot. I loved the first five minutes, I actually thought they were going to make it into a running theme, having a murder a week, before the title card. 😆 Anway, neat segue into SE thoughts which mirrored each other. Good contrast, also kinda showing that however mushy SE want to be, the reality will always catch up with them. Sorry, but since I hadn't read the books, that whole SE voiceover seemed like it had too much of a Edward-Bella hangover. Again, I agree with you both. Cute eye-flirting, but it's just not building up into something strong. I liked SE towards the end of the epi, with Stefan's ever-so-famous epic quote. I know I sound repetitive, but I wish we could have seen that epic!

it was somewhat weaker. personally, I feel after the pilot, the next four five episodes were a bit on the weak side before it picked up again. but I think that built up the story for the show itself, rather than having a series of strong standalone episodes, and no strong plot to hold it together. some episodes would need to be a little slower, a little less epic, so to speak, in order for the main story to move along. I think this was necessary to build the relationships in the show, and the smaller storylines. personal opinion. (: and I agree with the EB thing on the SE, to some extent. having read both stories, and watched both - SE still are stronger imho. we may not see it, but SE talk before jumping into anything. attraction is all well and good, but there's more to them than that. unfortunately, they never (or hardly ever) show that to us. I hope they do next season.

I love Jeremy-angst! Jeremy is SO cute, and I wanted to bop Vicki on the head for her inability to freaking chose! Sorry, but I kinda feel sorry for Jer in this whole thing. It seems that whichever girl he likes just ups and dies (Hmmm... he has that in common with the Winchester brothers doesn't he?! 😆)

ohmygod, I never connected that! haha. 'cept not all - no wait, she died too. damn. maybe Jere's secretly a Winchester! :O and Adam was a Gilbert. 😆 glad to know I'm not the only one who has violent tendancies towards Vicki!

I liked Jenna's storyline too. I loved that they showed how hard the current situation is for Jenna. I also would like to point out, that the epi seemed to have taught her nothing whatsoever, because of all the times later in the season Elena spends nights/days out of the house, without Jenna knowing a thing. 😆 But I do give Jenna props for trying. Her worry for the children is endearing, and I think that's why Elena's and Jeremy's parents left her in charge in the first place, and not Uncle John (righteous man and all, but GIT!) Also, 'Parental, authority, I like it'? LOVE that quote. Loved Steven when he said it. Loved Jenna throwing an apple at his head. 😆 One of my favourite parts of the epi!

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Elena uses the 'spending the night with Caroline/Bonnie' excuse all the time to get Jenna off her back. Plus, Jenna's a student too, so there's that. She tries, we see that. [Thank God they didn't leave Elena and Jere with John! :O but I can't see him wanting to take care of them anyways. haha.] Steven's delivery was brilliant, no question there, thought that apple must have hurt. I wonder how many takes that took. 😆

Another one of my favourite quotes from the epi is 'You know the closest you'll ever come to humanity is when you rip it open and feed on it' I'm not quite sure why exactly I like this quote, because everytime I watch it, I get a bit faint-headed.

oohh, it really shows how psychotic Damon is, I think. and that that's really how he sees it. - but then we see the change in him later, too. so maybe that's why?

I loved how they keep on building on Caroline's character every epi. From someone I initially dismissed in the pilot, I was actually hoping that Damon doesn't kill her at the end of the epi. Her encouragement of Elena was endearing, especially after her little outburst at the end of the pilot. But, I think a smile from a certain Salvatore brother had something to do with that. 😆 Poor Care, really! Another thing I loved was the bond between the 3 friends. On one hand, Caroline is getting her confidence up to carry through with Stefan, while I loved Bonnie's little 'she loves texting' hint to him. It's so sweet the way they care for her.

I really love Caroline. Couldn't dismiss her, ever! Candice is too bubbly and bright for that. xD I love how they keep showing these bouts of insecurity with her, and then showing that despite all that, she's there for her friends, always. She's strong for them, even if for herself she may not be. And Bonnie is awesome, she's the supportive best friend, always.

I for one, loved the little rooftop showdown with Stefan, Damon and Vicki. We knew Damon was bad news with his thoughtless killing, but this part showed how little he valued human life, and how truly psychotic he seemed, more so, because at that point we didn't know he had a plan. I agree, Kayla Ewell was fantastic in this epi.

I know! Ian played that scene so well. I was freaked out. I seriously thought they'd have Damon kill her then and there. Kayla was fantastic though, switching between freaked out, scared and then drugged out of her mind.

Overall, at the end of the epi, I didn't really feel satisfied. The opening sequence built it up for more... So, I think I'll rate this epi a bit lower than the pilot - 3/5.

Awesome analysis once again, guys! I don't think you need me to tell you how much I loved it, that's a given.
