Also klaus always fear his parents. They are the only one who makes him tremble in fear not because he is weaker than them but because of his horrid past with them.
But there also the fact they are more evil and scary than Klaus. Her mother in the video mentioned says I forgive you klaus only to plot to kill him the next second.
It really sad that klaus believed in it, and was happy that he got his family reunion except the one person he hated the most his father.
Only elijah was suspicious of his mother or else his mom plan would have succeeded too. If it not for the stupid elena Gilbert that is
