I was watching the episode and KD's too quite ways of responding was something that irked me. I was like, "Lo! The Majnugiri strikes again!" But then, after a few seconds of thinking, I realized my fault. It's not basic Majnugiri but it's completely natural for him to act all so...timid, if I'm allowed to use that word.
Flashback to KD of initial episodes. Haughty, risk taker, not giving a damn and answering attitude with maha attitude - that's KD. I'm sure we all miss that KD, despite me not personally being too fond of him as a character. But still, I don't think I'm the type to turn a blind eye to anyone's goods despite not generally liking them. ANYWAY! Yeah, the KD back there was different than KD here. No, I'm not saying about this guilt regarding Kiya and "wanting his Buddy back desperately" wish but it's more to do with his family situation. First, he was all he was because he knew despite doing anything, as long as he wasn't clearly proven to the culprit, he was safe. Scholarship student, honor student, one of the brightest of RA - as long as he had those tags, his ideas for pranks or his "illegal" doings would be overlooked.
Not anymore. More than Kiya, more than his friends, he is now indebted to his Baba. His situation of being the prized student of RA has changed into being just a regular student of RA. He is now the same fees paying student, despite having those tags to him. If he is not doing RA any good, RA is not obliged to keep him in. His timidness, I guess is his Character Development. From a carefree youth to someone responsible and mature. More than anything, he cares for his Baba who did so much for him just to fulfill his wish of being in RA. Yes, friends and Kiya are a big part why KD wants to stay in RA but his biggest wish is to get education from an institution which would ensure that his future is bright rather than a big question mark.
So yeah, I think now I approve of his majnu type antics as long as he is in this current situation of being indebted to his father. But please, after all is back to normal, when his scholarship is reinstated, his father's debt covered and KD gets his respected position back in RA, I want that haughty attitude wala KD back. This bheegi billi thing, meh not working. KD tou sher hai! He is meant to roar! 😃
In short, it's all mind boggling but it's all Character Development. Cheers! 😛
