For once, I can safely say that Ranveer was the hero of the episode. I haven't seen the episode but I just read the WU and rushed to make this topic. I can totally understand his hatred for KD as well! His hatred was the only illogical thing in his very logically crafted character. Once, it was mentioned that he hated KD for his "Angry Young Man types attitude in the era of Happy Go Lucky" but it seemed too weak to be held as a strong reason. But today it was proved that KD's attitude really is a big turn off for Ranveer, not just for him...his attitude is a big turn off for me as well! At least, for the past few episodes.
KD's mantra in the current track is, he'll win alone and he will lose alone.
Ranveer's reply to that is, he'll lose if he is alone.
Huge difference. Taking a Harry Potter example, that Harry was accused once that he liked playing hero. Though Harry denied it, deep down he did feel that unconsciously, he liked all the attention that feeling of doing everything on his own. I think this feeling has made a house in KD's mind as well. He has always been hailed as a hero, someone who knows all the solutions to the problems. He likes that feeling that his words are pondered upon, followed by all. Hardly anyone steps up to him, without being turned down by his supporters, and says no, dude you are wrong. That's what we shouldn't be doing. Such things, boost his ego. Hence, the result.
KD's ego is very dangerous. Consequences will be seen in the wrestling ring. If, he had taken Ranveer's advice, he had gone to JJ, things would've been different. He could've gone to JJ and explained his side of the story that school asks for fees, he can't afford it. If JJ can help him get a part time job, because KD is one smart boy. Topper and a scholarship student, he could easily get a job. There were many ways in which JJ could've supported him. But again, that ego. His massive ego kicked it and voila!
Not only this, he is persistent in many things. Kiya's track as well. He is sorry, he wants to apologize. I agree, that's all well. But he refuses to see what the other party is feeling. I might be flamed for this but heck! He is acting like an immature, selfish JERK! (terms usually reserved for Ranveer fyi). He refuses to stop and stand in Kiya's shoes for a while. Some people have this thinking, if they'll persist, they'll get what they want. It's all KD being more stubborn than sorry IMO.
I'm watching a Korean show. Taking it's reference. A & B were best friends! B's dream was to be a football player but in a fight, accidentally A broke his leg and B can never play football in his life. 1 year later, they've met in another school. A is apologetic and he is silently acting like a slave for B, in any way to get his apology. B, though stops him from coming in front of him ever again, says he hates him, says A's action is not worthy of forgiving...actually cares for him. Silently, deep inside...he has opened that door for forgiveness. He might actually just forgive him, for stripping him (B) off his dream of a lifetime.
A can be KD.
B, Kiya.
But situations are different. Unlike B, Kiya has not yet opened any door to forgive KD. But KD's persistent ego refuses to acknowledge it. Had KD acted a little smarter, he would've given Kiya some space. Let some time heal those wounds. Had he put some faith in his silent apology and this belief that all will be alright in the near future, things wouldn't be so bad. Kiya is not yet healed from Opening Ceremony fiasco and then Banga trouble kicked it. She, atm, hates KD and KD kept springing in front of her. I salute Kiya's patience for still being verbal with him rather than slapping him left right center!
The stoneface avatar of KD had sense, which current KD is missing. He doesn't have sense enough to act his age, he doesn't have sense enough to put some trust in others, heck! He still doesn't have sense enough to trust his own trust in things!
It's about time KD gets a reality check. I sincerely hope, he loses in the match. I sincerely hope, the mound of his ego gets a massive crack. He is in that age, where if one gets a big stumble...only then they learn to walk while having their sight on the ground. KD needs to have his back back from the clouds to over his shoulders. He is just 18 anyway! Realistically, this could be his big moment to learn to let go of the ego and act a little modest. These two things are drastically needed in KD as a human! If the makers are still adamant on making TBP as a unique show, they will let KD stumble and fall and be hurt and realize the value of friends and a mentor he can trust. But if they make KD a mahaan hero by triumphing in the fight and in a blink solving all this issue, then that would disappoint me. Massively disappoint me because they are making a character into an un-human like hero. Superheros in comic books make mistake for Heaven's sake, why are CVs putting KD above them!
At least, after all that happened, Ranveer has learned his lesson that friends are not to be taken granted for. That they are special and to be valued. Chalo, his track wasn't focused and just swished by in the episodes but at least, it did wonders. My Rockstar redeemed himself and a LOGICAL character growth is the result! 😳 This is KD's big moment. KD tou always gets focus, even if it's unwanted...hopefully CVs won't ruin this chance and end up redeeming him as a human rather taking the superhero path and end up screwing a human character into something other wordly
Phew, made a long analytical post after AGES! Felt good! No flames and jootas and chappals please.
