Education is very important. School, however is another matter.
Teen years is one of the most important phase of a child's life. This is the phase where they make choices of good and bad, when they decide to choose their future path, and how they want to achieve their goal. They are also the years of waking up to stress, tween emotions, hormones and memories that may want to stay buried deep in embarrassment or shame.
The Buddy Project entered into rough seas, as the new Principal took over the reigns of the school. A Principal interested only in the power he can garnish, rather than in the development of his students. His only goal is the destruction of the "Buddy Project" and had laid claim to the chair of Principal, and so far he has done very well.
It's interesting as I caught up on the show, how every wake of life is politically driven. In fact I was having dinner with close friends and we were discussing our children, schools, teachers and the school board. At one end of the spectrum we have teachers who swear to protect their students, until their last breath, have done so, and on the other end are people like the Principal, who would harm his own students to reach his goal.
The show has progressed very well indeed. If the Alpha competition brought the eight warring buddies a little closer, now the misunderstandings and the threat from the Principal have become a catalyst in exploring their feelings and support for each other. It has actually brought an unwritten truce between Ranveer and KD. The unreasonable demands of the Principal, has become a net to fish out their capabilities and the instinct to fight for what belongs to them and rightfully so.
I like the way the show brings out the various facets of human nature - from the young to the old, from the rich to the poor, from the arrogant to the humble and from the calm to the storm. And we expect our children to survive on their own, as they get caught in the tornado of these economic and social disparities. Even as they fight their way in the confusing maze, growing into young adults, instead of lending a hand, we push them away for our own selfish reasons and ego.
The rift between Panchi and Ranveer is very sad to watch. Yet it is a perfect platform for Ranveer to analyze his fears and insecurities. Panchi, hurt by her 'buddy' is indifferent and Ranveer needs to fight back for her trust and friendship. KD and Kia have their own trust issues to sort. Individual issues aside, all of them now have to fight for their privileges that were snatched away from them in the guise of punishment.
Now that they have made peace with Mr. Jaitley, he is their only ally and savior, to support them in the fight for their rights. Education and the welfare of the students of Royal Academy have been pushed behind bars, as revenge and power are ruling the head of the school. Now it is left to Jaitley and his entourage to get their necks out of this noose and expose the Principal for what he is really worth.
The show has still retained its flavor and I am thoroughly enjoying watching these teens go through various hurdles, resolving issues, supporting their buddies and looking out for each other, as they try to overcome their own individual fears.
