So, back with another analysis because I kind of liked the episode.
The first scene instantly made me slap my forehead. I hate pitying the character but cannot help but pity Bihan. The expressions in his face, the delight at entering the house again, the excitement everything, everything literally broke my heart. These people including Thapki do not deserve this innocent guy. However the way he entered the house holding Thapki's hand, unconsciously admitting that it is the right way told me that it isn't long before we find them inside the house or better away from each other. Why would they show the Grih Pravesh so symbolically? That too with my favorite BGM used on Thahaan, the Mangalam one.
The look on the faces of family members instantly made me want to destroy my television. Cvs why do you guys have to destroy every character? Like they are so happy that Bihan is here, the same people who never thought that his judgment might be right, the same people who let him go just like that, who made his wife the maid of the house and who never even considered it right to tell him the truth or what his feelings would be if he ever found out, the same people who needed a request from his wife to let him enter for the party. Then came Preeti's slip of the salary Thapki will receive. Truth be told it's frustrating to see him so unaware, he is the lone person ignorant of the things around him, the one who will be the most hurt at the knowledge even. She notices His smile as he rubs dadi's leg, his happiness, Thapki, unawares to herself, is content in his happiness.
Bihan, like a child who is allowed to help in something very important is so very happy as he works for the party. But his eyes find her, his happiness lying in the fact that she is here with him, inside the house, accepted even for a day by everyone and as the balloon bursts and with it her laughter his eyes glint with happiness. Her eyes meet his sparkling ones and notice his happiness and instantly she is content. As Bihan promises to her in his heart that everything will be fine, that they are happy with our presence here and soon they will call us back Thapki is more realistic. In a way his happiness scares her but she is content with even a fleeting moment which has his smiling face. She promises in his heart that he will be back with his family but reluctantly says that she won't be there when it happens. Why the tears? When you were so very ready to go to your house when you were thrown why you are sad now? Thapki doesn't notice the shift in her heart. But the mood for separation is being set so subtly by the creative's and the entire scenario is so very heavy as if something big is going to happen at anytime.
Shradha, the unlucky witch, she always reminded me so much of Maleficent. And today as she sat before the mirror reveling in her fantasies the image became more vivid. But her dialogues shocked me today, I always told that I understood her plight as a wife but never have I ever imagined that she would be in love with Dhruv and so soon. But we cannot call it illogical as we all know love is a strange thing and it works in stranger ways. Pity bubbled up as the scene progressed and she danced with Dhruv's shirt. Unrequited love is too much of a punishment and if you have a taste of it you will not wish it for even an enemy.
Typical husband and wife scene made my day. The way Bihan had a look at Thapki and went speechless spoke volumes as to where there relationship stands at the moment. Thapki has looked even more gorgeous in several occasions and Bihan had showed subdued to subtle reactions in those occasions but today his reactions were so explicit and the way Thapki didn't seem to mind this indicating her unconscious acceptance. Then comes the fun part, his attempt in vain to make her notice him, to hear words of appreciation from her mouth and her total ignorance of his attempts at grabbing her attention and when she finally makes the comment he is disappointed beyond anything. Truly hilarious moment is when he asks her whether she is making fun of him. Bihan you do look handsome it's just that Thapki doesn't like admitting it.
I love Suman bhabhi. She is truly sad about the situation they are going through. I do hope the Tabela actually looks good on valentine though (Scope of something romantic) Suman Bhabhi's advice sets them thinking but it is Bihan who thinks about the advice in his own unique way. A way to celebrate love but even better one to celebrate takraar. The objects sent me on a trip down the memory lane. His confidence as he gives the bright red rose to her and her hesitance as she accepted it spoke volumes as to what actually it symbolized. The flashbacks of the past were so fond, a treat to the viewers indeed. The mosquito coil, the gum and the cards all symbolizing their fights but Bihan's way of gifting her, the fact that he remembers all the instances suggesting how close she is to his heart.
Thapki's dialogues were ominous, the way she told that she won't be with him forever as he says jokingly that he has many things to give her for years. But Bihan didn't seem to understand the significance of the words. He is a "live in the present" kind of guy so he brushes it off and in the same humor gifts her cracker. She amuses him as she so rightly gives him another symbol of their takrar, the gun. The flash back here is my favorite, the beginning of their unique story, one of the first moments they share. But in the next scene, Though I never even had an idea of what the cvs wanted to show the first thing which came to my mind was Guns N' Roses hence the heading. But the scene was beyond my understanding. I guess they wanted to show how far they have come. The rose symbolizing Thapki and the Gun Bihan (innocence and destruction) Very poor allegory in my opinion. It wasn't anything remotely related to Guns N' Roses. However afterwards when Thapki leaves his amused "Gazab" was so very entertaining and immediately brought a smile on my face. The rest of the episode was not worth my time except the way Thapki is agreeing to everything painstakingly just so that Bihan would have a good time with his family. The separation track is a sure deal folks in addition something bigger is lurking around the corner and we look at each other blankly as nothing is known to us post the dance lol.
PS- (to those of you who don't know, Guns N' Roses was one of the most popular American Bands in the 1980s, I loved the songs especially their track "Patience") Probably the creative's didn't mean a thing but the term Gun N' Roses is so very well connected with Love (meaning Love is destruction and conversely Destruction is love, yeah a bit intense for TPK)
