On an aside, why has ITV stopped making love stories? How did we go from Geet, DMG, Love ne Mila di Jodi, IPKKND, Ishqbaaz, DBO, JR to the current 2 FL 1 messed ML, numerous vamps, numerous leaps and never ending family drama.

agreed! All of a sudden its only 2 sisters 1 guy, ema, cheating, 2 wives nonsense. The quality has degraded to unimaginable depths.

Song still has some good ones but others have degraded like anything. There is no sense in what they show.

also I believe all these ppl just annihilate the serials for trp after 100 epis so they started making nonsensical storylines from the start only

They decide the high voltage drama they want and then think on how to get that drama from current storyline.

They could just as well have a 100 episode contracts for different prime time shows like the web series model. Obvs I know it's not going to happen but they could have have each season for 100 episodes, once the 100 episodes are up the season ends and a new show starts in the prime time slot. It'll give enough time for writers to create a decent story line and enough continuity and curiosity for people to stay hooked on to the show. Like the web series model, If the TRP is high enough in the first season then the show will be continued on for a second season, that way the channel will consistently get their TRPs and the show makers will actually get a chance to produce something decent.

To add this this I also find that there’s so much negativity and so many evil characters in today’s shows, with nothing to offset this.

The Brar brothers and the Monga sisters aren’t shows to be very close. Gary is just evil and ambitious, while Seerat is willing to happily step on her family and sisters for move forward. It’s so easy to manipulate Seerat and turn her against Sahiba? Her own sister?

When I first saw promos of this show it gave me Ishqbaaz vibes. The sibling bond in Ishqbaaz was so precious. It offset the parents not getting along. They could have shown something similar here. Instead we get the same cliched things mentioned previously in this thread, namely rich people behaving poorly and love triangles.

You are right. I guess many of us expected it to be similar to Ishqbaaz cos of 3 brothers and sisters casting.

Used to love the kitchen scenes and nok jhok in Ishqbaaz. While in TMD, getting a light scene without much uproar itself is a big deal. And on certain days especially, one doesn't want so much negativity from a daily soap.

Looks like they are running parallel storylines but there is no continuity between each characters' plotline, very very slow or negligible character growth. I read by someone yesterday, that the ML and FL are a good looking pair with good chemistry after a long time, I agree. But unless, the creative team uses them properly, with good scenes, what's the point.

Yeah Ishqbaaz so much better... this ph is problematic .

I did not watch ghum but I am sure that there also the no. Of negative episodes and toxic characters would be high.. the general tone of the serial be the same..

For myself I have decided never to watch anything from this ph

Remake can be butchered this bad.. wonder what they will have as original script.. probably nothing..

It has become so difficult to even scroll through episode clips and precap clips on IG. It's so insufferable, specially after Darji had a flip and the whole family reprimanded Sahiba for something as trivial as working, knowing full well Darji actually promised her it would be okay.

I haven't watched Tere Bin more than the IG clips but the whole backlash thingy and them changing the storyline only ruined the whole thing. They shouldn't have gone ahead with that track at all, could have done so many things - Meerub could have left after Murtasim refused to believe her in the sister runaway track. The whole shebang of marital r*pe was unnecessary and now when they've edited it - it looks so stupid asf, because they didn't reshoot or anything.

Ishqbaaz was actually the last show I watched the LONGEST and sometimes I still keep going back to it for some fun early episodes.

ITV has become unbearable for some reason.

Yeah either they should have trusted their original script for tere bin..and went ahead inspite of backlash.. or just do a reshoot of things..

The edited stuff is BS .. I don't known if I am watching the same serial after that change..

Thankfully I am not the only one to think so..

The last show I enjoyed was channa mereya it was okay.. negativity did not stay long so I could look over the obvious flaws.. but yeah tmd is just going down the rabbit hole..

First the episodes were horribly slow... then they introduced tracks which they could not do justice too and characters flipping like that.. every episode to me feels like being done by diff writer .. with no sync to past episodes..

Dialogues are poorly written...

150 episodes almost but we don't know what's going on wrt love stories for any of the jodis..

But atleast there was that clout around TB, wonder when we will have something like that from itv ... itv content is going bad to worse really...

Earlier the ITV couple always stayed together no matter what the situation. They never got married to someone else or had extramarital affairs. Somehow ITV respected the sanctity of the marriage, which I feel is gone now.
I liked IPKKND but Gul brought up this horrible toxic ML - bechari FL trope. And the shows nowadays are taking it to another level, especially Vankar's shows.

Shows like Sasural Genda Phool, Kuch Rang Pyaar ke Aise Bhi, YUDKBH, MJHT were such a treat to watch. I used to be an avid Madhubala fan till RK pulled that fake wedding stunt and I lost interest in the show. Such a guy can not be redeemed in my opinion. Similarly, started watching UD on Rangu and then it went downhill so badly with ML's ema.

It makes me wonder why we are getting more and more regressive with ITV nowadays. Why are we teaching our kids that it's okay to get abused and cheated on by your partner?

What ever happened in the end, at least in the beginning, some of the scenes really had good progressive dialogues, and his acting justified that. And uppar se banda hai toh dashing 😁

Naagin season 1,3 male leads are also good, supportive...
