Of course Seerat can refuse. Just like Angad could have said no to marrying Sahiba. Instead he convinced her, then abused her, tried to rape her, threatened to leave her and made her collect proof to earn the right to live in his house and is now acting like marriage is the saviour of all lives. He should see how much Sahiba is enjoying with him before suggesting marriage as a fix.
Seerat is still in love with Garry, her abuser, if she says yes due to money it is deplorable but if she ends up saying yes because a lot of women find it hard to fall out of love with their abusers , it is understandable and that is entirely on Angad because he decided to Kickstart this.
Sahiba and Angad have seen Seerat try suicide due to Garry , Angad was talking about how Garry cannot respect women, Angad has seen Garry misbehave with Sahiba and provoke him to rape her and Sahiba should keep calm about an absolutely terrible decision when Angad can rant and abuse her as per his wish. He constantly forcefully drags her across rooms but her raising voice is where we should draw line over a decision that anyone with sense can figure out will ruin Seerat more. In fact Sahiba should give him one tight slap first for forcibly holding her hand and dragging her 24/7, who gave him the right, he can also try holding her a bit gently but of course womens words are always worse than mens actions.
Sahiba is hysterical as she cares about her sister who she saw try committing suicide due to the same man Angad is fixing wedding with.
Seerat in heartbreak attempted suicide, Angad in heartbreak attempted rape and physical abuse on Sahiba, maybe that is why he does not think marrying Garry will ruin Seerat. Because him and Garry are not really different, his anger was because Garry stole his love.
Seerat loves only herself as per the story on the screen. Right now she is more like kicking herself for losing Angad and is feeling sorry for herself.
Both Angad and Sahiba's intentions are fine. Angad wants to "fix" his brother and Seerat's issues AND he is not the brightest bulb in the family. Sahiba wants to protect her sister.
For me - Asking Seerat to marry Garry is like asking a rape victim to marry the rapist (AND Garry is one - having s*x with someone under false pretenses/promise to marry is rape under the law). I still don't agree it is Sahiba's job to scream Nooooooooooooo. No one listens to screaming banshee. She needs to convince Seerat and her parents to say no, instead of screaming at Angad.
