GEC Watch: STAR Plus gains 18 GRPs; increases share to 27.3 per cent
The leading channel in the Hindi GEC space, STAR Plus, has gained 18 GRPs over the last week, as per the TAM data (C&S, 4+, HSM). The channel's relative share has increased from 26.7 per cent in Week 42 to 27.3 in Week 43. It has garnered 379 GRPs and six of its shows have made it to the list of Top 10 shows.
Viacom18's channel, Colors, has maintained its No. 2 position. The channel saw a decline of 11 GRPs and has clocked 250 GRPs. The relative share has decreased from 19.3 per cent in Week 42 to 18 per cent in Week 43. Two of the channel's shows - Uttaran with 5.2 TVR and Na Aana is Des Lado with 4.56 TVR - have made it to the Top 10 list this week.
This week saw Sony taking the No. 3 spot. The channel, however, lost 13 GRPS and registered 208 GRPS in Week 43; it clocked a relative share of 15 per cent. At No. 4, Zee TV has garnered a relative share of 14.6 per cent, with 203 GRPs. Only Pavitra Rishta on the channel has made it to the Top 10 list in the latest week.
SAB, at No. 5, has registered 118 GRPs in Week 43, with a relative share of 8.5 per cent. It is followed by Imagine TV, which has recorded a relative share of 6.9 per cent.
STAR One is at No. 7; the channel's relative share has jumped from 2.8 per cent in Week 42 to 3.1 per cent in Week 43. The channel also saw an increase of GRPs from 38 GRPs in Week 42 to 44 GRPs in Week 43.
DD1 and STAR Utsav have garnered relative shares of 2.7 per cent and 1.8 per cent, respectively; while Sahara One has garnered a relative share of 1.7 per cent.
On the list of 10 most watched programmes on Hindi GECs, Bidaai on STAR Plus rules at No. 1, with a TVR of 5.9. It is followed closely by Saathiya Saath Nibhana (STAR Plus), with a TVR of 5.68.
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on STAR Plus is the third most watched programme, recording a TVR of 5.66; it is followed by Pratigya on STAR Plus at No. 4 with 5.26 TVR; and Uttaran at No. 5 with 5.20 TVR.
The other shows on the Top 10 list are Kaun Banega Crorepati, Sasural Genda Phool, Tere Liye and Bidaai
