Anu's feelings changed...?

hey all i dont get one thing and i was wondering if any of you could explain it to me....
Anu loved taani before he left right? but nupur said that for 8 years she has been giving him birthday gifts so Anu got a girlfriend as soon as he got to USA? He forgot about everyone back home so quickly.....so if thats the case why does he still have such strong and the same feelings for laboni...but not for taani???
im so confused

he has the same feeling for Taani now also he said many times that he care about taani more than everyone and he can't see taani sad..

as he said to taani "I love you but i am not in love with you" but he love taani more than nupur its just that he don't wana understand that he is in love with taani 😔
