Hey Guys,
I was thinking "Tere Liye" is an awful lot like Devdas and Parineeta. It has more of "Parineeta" to be precise. "Tere Liye" is a tale of two childhood best friends whose familes were also best pals. However, given the turn of events, the relationship between the familes turn sour. Devdas, anyone?
"Tere Liye" is a tale of two best friends who get married to each other in their early days. One of them leaves the other and the other one waits for her other half for years, still being his "Suhaag". Parineeta, anyone? (But yes, in Parineeta they get married when they are older)
Love,
Prapti

Interesting idea...I was thinking that Tere Liye might be based off of Barsaat.

For those who haven't seen it, Barsaat is about a rich Bobby Deol and a poor, naiive, cultured, Priyanka Chopra that were childhood best friends. Once they grew up, Priyanka fell in love with Bobby, but he didn't feel the same way. Because of family pressures, he ends up marrying her anyway. On their wedding night, Bobby leaves for America. There, he falls in love with the modern Bipasha Basu. They decide to get married, and Bobby Deol decides to come back to India to get a divorce from Priyanka. Lots of drama happens, and in the end Bobby and Priyanka end up together.

reminds A LOT bout devdas to me...specially one of today's scene too..where laboni tells shekhar tht her daughter means a lot for her & tht she will give tani better stuff...like u knw the whole laboni-shekhar rich-poor discussion today reminded me of paro's mom & devdas's mom's convo when dev's mom insults paro's mom for being poor & not accepting the relationship.

in devdas two families were never so close and never thy were friends like this
tere was always their status and reput fr dev's family and paro fr them was a daughter, grl frm the family of dancers
And parineeta it was whole different story, the guy assumed tht grl married the othr guy hence binded wth his ego he went to marry otherr but bfr the othr guy clrd the thing
so i really don't think it is mixture of any

I have not watched praineeta so i can't say ... but i have watched Devdas and i do not find similarity between the storyline at all ... just because Anurag and Taani love eachother and are seperated by corcumstances does not make it similar to devdas, not for me anyways 😆 Because there have been countless films and shows on this theme

I hope they dont go the devdas way and marry Taani to someone who is a mismatch 🤢 and seeing her unhappy Onu goes mad

Whatever they show i don't want either Onu or Taani ti be married to anyone else
