All of just 19, actress Anupriya Kapoor surprises you as she talks much more maturely and sensibly than her age! With her long lovely tress and dimple smile, she seems like a shy girl in public. But once you speak to her personally, she is a completely surprise package – fun loving, frank and lively Anupriya was in Ahmedabad to promote her new television show – Tere Liye which is based on childhood love. This was her second visit to Gujarat and she loves the way the people here live their life to the fullest.
In real life does she feel that on e can love someone in childhood and then later get married to him? "In Childhood one can have a crush but not love..At that age, you can sacrifice for someone but no understand the emotions and responsibilities one has during love and marriage" says Anupriya. In her school days she was a very matured kid, a teachers favourite and couldn't relate to the wannabe girls.
She plays the lead role of Tani in her new show with small screens chocolate boy Harshad Chopra. They have hardly done few scenes together but the chemistry between them is very visible. "I get several hate mails from female fans. They don't like to see us together but I am sure we as a onscreen couple will sink in their mind gradually. He is a very sensible and talented actor – we discuss things together and share good rapport. He gives me my space – though being my senior in the industry, he doesn't treat me like a junior." She says.
Acting was never on Anupriyas platter. "Since I was a kid I wanted to be a lawyer or hotelier. I was inclined towards acting but never thought I would get roles in television. I learnt Bharatnatyam for few years and have also done theatre," she informs. As the industry is not considered safe for girls, did she also experience some unexpected situations? "No I haven't across anything like this but I have met all sorts of people. I feel if one is talented and knows how to draw a line then she is safe in the industry. Television industry is very transparent; no one can do anything without your consent. A girl has to be determined, clear, strong and maintain her dignity if she wants to survive safely in this industry," says Anupriya, who has earlier done shows like Seven, Rishta.com and Miley Jab Hum Tum.
In coming future she wants to do something better and bigger. "I have always grown in my career. I started behind the camera and now I am facing it. I want to maintain my level and only move ahead in life because my fans expect a certain amount of progress from me and I cant let them down," she says.
The real Anupriya has "always been more matured than my age. I never had boyfriends. I was attracted to guys but never thought that I wanted to be their girlfriend. I was never conscious about my dressing and love to shop from anywhere."
After a long hectic day, Anupriya unwinds her day by doing a lot of gymming. "I am a complete fitness freak. Whenever I am free, I spend time with my grandmother and pets and cook for myself in very little olive oil and less fats. I love to eat whatever I cook – the best I cook is chicken and rajma chawal," she says on a parting note.
