Actors on safety in Mumbai
Mumbai is home to tinsel town celebrities. Everyday stars go out to party or come home late from a shoot. But do they feel safe after the recent death of two courageous youth, Keenan Santos and Ruben Fernandes, who were stabbed for fighting against eve teasers. We ask these stars if they feel safe in the city during late nights and how to keep yourself safe…
Showing 3 of 8 imagesPrevious Next
Harshad Chopra
I grew up in Mumbai and looking back, as a teenager we used to feel pretty safe in Mumbai. We could travel free during anytime of the night. Now, it isn't the same Mumbai. It's shocking. It has become like any other metro city with such incidents happening. If you ever face any situation like this, please don't get into it because you don't know what you are dealing with. Sometimes, it's better to let your ego go and avoid unnecessary arguments with such people.

Rumours irritates me: Harshad Chopra

Television's Chocolate cupcake Harshad Chopra has charmed many a female fan with his on screen Romanticism and is still remembered as adorable 'Prem of Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil' and Anurag of 'Tere Liye'. He has a flattering female fan following who are attracted towards his charismatic identity. He is currently seen playing the male lead character of Mohan Galla in Imagine TV 'Dharampatni.

Adorable actor takes up the random quick grills:

One person whom you like to date from this industry?
I wanted to date Divya Bharti, I really loved her when I was young, was devastated when she died. I also like Kajol's softness and her smile, she is too brilliant I respect her a lot.

A rumour about you which you wish comes true?
I don't want any of the rumours to come true. Rumours irritates me because it means that some of my fans and friends must think I'm lying. I believe Journalists need to be reminded of their role to provide accurate, reliable and timely news about actors. I hate when someone starts a baseless rumor like I am dating or can't stand my co-star etc. I really dislike rumours.

One thing u can't survive without?
I'm really lazy, I could sleep all day. It's one of my favorite things to do and can't live without.

One fruit you resemble?
I think I look like Papaya or may be Apple.

One cosmetic enhancement you are okay with?
Cosmetic enhancement na baba na I don't even want threading my eyebrows. I shall stay the way I am (laughs)

One actor you'd like to exchange your wardrobe with?
I think everybody's got better choice of dressing then me.

One song you're ashamed to admit you like?
There are so many (laughs)

Which part of your body do you treasure the most?
Eyes, because they never lies and it reflects what you're within. Actually I treasure my entire body.

If you could invite one actor over dinner, who could it be?
Rajeev Khandelwal and his Manjiri, they recently started their new journey of marriage filled with love.

One advice given to you that you never followed?
You better know it.

Please tell..
That I don't pick up the phone

One word that describe your personality?
Dreamer, I dream a lot even when I am awake. If you ask Aasiya Kazito describe me in one word, she would say 'Thinker'. She said I always sit in thinking pose.

A funny name that someone has used on you?
Kunal Kapoor calls me 'Gawar' and one of my friend calls me 'Gondiya'.

One annoying thing about yourself?
I tend to irritate people because I am stubborn when I am convinced. I believe in this: either convince me, or get convinced by me.

anupriya kapoor

Born on 26 November, Anupriya Kapoor is a number 8 (Saturn) person in numerology. Like all Sagittarians, she is ruled by number 3 (Jupiter) while her destiny number adds to Number 2 (Moon). Since she is ruled by number 2, she is automatically ruled by number 7 (Ketu) since both these numbers always go hand in hand.

Anupriya will now enter the 22nd year of her life, which indicates health issues especially on a mental level like bouts of depression and loneliness.

Wearing a pearl set in silver of around four carats on her smallest finger on a Monday will help her take decisions of life in a much more cool, calm and composed way.

Her current name vibration is also not adding up on a positive number and so she should ideally spell her name as 'ANUPPRIYA KAPOOR' with immediate effect.

Prime time switch

Some telly hotties jump from one show to another as lead characters with effortless ease

Amrita Mulchandani

On prime time television, where superstars are a rare breed, there are some actors who manage to switch channels and shows and even find instant acceptance in their new avatars. Not for them the pangs of waiting for dream roles even as they are forced into a sabbatical. What makes these actors get out of their image trap with such effortless ease and slip on to new roles so soon
Actors are repeated when they are good, have freshness left in them and the right attitude to work.Channels also need to approve of the popular actor when hes signed in as the lead character in a show. The average shelflife of a TV actor is three to five years,so he/she makes the most of the telly stint, says creative producer Siddharth P Malhotra,as he goes on to add,Often TV actors are not repeated as leads because success goes to their heads and channels and the production houses find it difficult to work with them.
So what works in favour for actors who are repeated as leads in TV shows Some shows need fresh faces and some require known ones.Plus,it is not necessary that fresh faces always work.Established and popular actors are repeated based on their professionalism and acting experience, besides, they also add value to the show.I have repeated actors who not only fit in their characters but are also thorough professionals, says producer Rajan Shahi.
Do actors who move on to newer lead characters consider themselves fortunate I didnt want to be seen too frequently on the small screen, thats why I never did cameos.Confidence and positive attitude are my forte.Unlike other TV actors Im not insecure since my parents supported me completely when I was on a break and thats what worked for me, says actor Rati Pandey.
Actor Aditya Redij says,Whenever Ive been given a chance,I have proved myself as an actor.I am glad that producers who have faith in me repeated me.I feel good performance is what keeps an actor going. Actor Kritika Kamra admits that her hard work has paid off and has given her another lead character to perform.I am lucky as producers and audience have faith in me.
In an era where remote control junkies decide the fates of their telly idols, keeping the audiences faith is all important indeed!

Harshad Chopda

Harshad Chopda is one name in the TV industry that doesn't need any introduction. He is a star and has fans in all quarters of the world. Furthermore, he is also featured in Tellychakkar.com's elite list of the most desirable men in television this year. An actor who can charm with his striking looks, impressive attitude and enchanting voice, Harshad has always been perched pretty high on the popularity chart. Till date, everyone remembers his spirited performances inLeft Right Left, Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil and Tere Liye .

Currently, he is seen as Mohan in Imagine's Dhrampatni (produced jointly by Endemol and DJ's A Creative Unit). The show initially garnered a lot of media attention and critics believed that it will add a new leaf in the history of Indian television. Sadly, things did not turn out as expected. Dharampatni has been crawling on the TRP ladder ever since its first episode.

Tellychakkar.com talked to Harshad and he said that he is not happy with the progress of the show. He believes that there is nothing wrong in the concept, but the flaw is in the process of execution.
"When the script was narrated to me, I was very excited to play Mohan. I only say yes to any show if I find my character to be challenging enough. I actually live it. But as the show progressed, there was a problem with the way the script got executed. It was not impactful enough," shares Harshad.

Furthermore, Harshad also feels that the show's low TRPs have got nothing to do with the fact that it is being aired in a comparatively lesser known GEC like Imagine.

"I don't think so. And if it is at all a reason, then it is very sad. Viewers should give importance to the script, not the platform," opines the handsome hunk.

Furthermore, the worst part is that he has put in so much effort to play Mohan, yet his friends come up to him and ask what he is doing these days.

"I feel a pinch when I realize that people don't know about my show and my character. It is quite saddening," says Harshad with a heavy voice.

However, he is hopeful that the show will do well in the future as he believes that it still has the potential to do wonders.

And he is so committed to Dharampatni that he is not even going to take an off to party on the New Year eve. "I believe shooting is the best way to celebrate," ends Harshad.

Well, Harshad we hope that your show does really well in the coming year!!!

TV actors wish Salman Khan a very happy birthday!!!

Salman Khan

On the other hand Harshad Chopda, who is seen in Imagine's Dharampatni, doesn't know what he will do when he would meet his idol. "If I plan things in advance chances are I will screw it up; so it's better I don't decide anything and instead wait patiently for the fateful day," he smiles.
