Before kunj and twinkle's marriage was arranged and before they even met one another, usha made kunj promise that he would not treat his wife the way his father treats her, and that he would be good to his wife. We never, and i say never, saw that side of usha after that scene. The usha they showed in that scene was introduced to us as a woman who was caring and good-natured, as well as a woman who would go on to seemingly be a nice mother-in-law as she taught her son to be a gentleman and to treat his wife with love and respect, but the cv's never showed that side of usha and completely took a u-turn with her character since her introduction and that particular scene. She's more oppressive towards her daughter-in-law than her husband.
I have to give it to manohar, he is a very modern-thinking man and believes in giving the youth of today liberties whether that be his son or his daughter-in-laws.
Manohar has never been small-minded as usha, as he proved when he defended kunj's decision to finish his education in front of usha, or when he handed the responsibility of the new family business to twinkle, or especially before twinj marriage when anita called that boy's mother to instigate manohar against twinkle's character and he didn't believe the woman and said that society always blames girls for everything. I'm lost for words at how horrid usha has become, and especially in today's episode where she shamelessly sat gossiping with pallavi about twinkle and bad-mouthing her, despite pallavi not even being a family member.
