Chapter 4
Twinkle entered Kaushik's room fuming with anger. She shut the door behind her with a bang. Mr Kaushik was startled by this. He looked up and saw twinkle's face red with anger. Kaushik got concerned by this and asked her," kya hua twinkle? Tum aise itne gusse mei kyu ho? Sab theek hai na?." Before twinkle could explain the matter at hand to him, kunj entered the cabin and cut her off in the middle," sir aapki ye jo pyaari reporter hai na inko bauhat jaldi gussa aa jata hai, mano gussa toh inki naak pe sawaar ho" Kaushik couldn't understand what was happening so he looked at both of them confusingly and said, "akhir hua kya hai? Koi mujhe ye toh batao." Kunj replied making himself comfortable on a chair kept nearby," ab kya batau mai aapko sir, maine socha ki ab jab hume ek saath kaam karna hi hai toh kyu na thodi dosti ho jaye. Akhir achhi rapport maintain karni padegi na hume. Kyu haina sir? Kaushik didn't find anything wrong with his statement so he nodded his head showing his agreement. Kaushik added," ha bilkul sahi kaha tumne, issme kaunsi itni badi baat ho gayi?" Kunj further elaborated," Badi baat hui sir, badi baat hui, aap aage toh suniye...fir maine inse kaha ki ab itni formality ki toh koi zarurat nahi hai." Kaushik asked,"matlab?"
Kunj continued with his side of the story," matlab ye hai sir ki maine inse kaha ki Miss Twinkle Taneja ya sirf Miss taneja bada hi formal sound karta hai aur itna boring lagta hai bolne mei toh kya mai aapko sirf Twinkle bula sakta hu?". " bas fir kya tha sir, ye toh mujh pe bhadak gayi ekdum. Aap yakeen nahi karenge sir, ye itna bhadki hui thi ki mere laye hue bouquet se mujhe maarna wali thi." Kaushik gave a look of disbelieve toward Twinkle. Kunj was lying so effortlessly that it didn't seem like he was making all this up. He was a natural at this.His innocent looks came in handy too. Not wasting any more time he continued," Maine apne aap ko inke keher se bachane ke liye inka haath kya pakad lia, ye gusse se mujhe dhakka dekar, darwaaz guesse se mere muh pe patak kar yaha aa gayi".
aap mujhe bataiye sir," kya maine kuch galat kaha ya kia? Mai toh bas apne aap ko bacha raha tha". He was such a pro at lying. He did it with such ease that anyone would have fell for it. He did it so innocently that Kaushik immediately fell for his drama.
Twinkle couldn't believe it. She was getting more and more irritated. Kunj was fully enjoying this, he continued in a dramatic way,"sir, inko agar mera inhe naam se bulana pasand nahi tha toh sharafat se bol deti. Itna bada issue banana ki koi zarurat nahi thi... mai yaha sirf aapki request pe inki help karne aaya tha, warna mere paas offers ki koi kami nahi hai". Kunj lowered his eyes and said in a serious tone," agar inak yahi attitude raha toh majburan mujhe..." he got up from his seat, and gave a stern look to Kaushik. He was having so much fun but he made sure Kaushik falls for this.
Twinkle also got up from her seat and said, almost barking his head off," ha to jayiye na Mr Sarna, kisne roka hai aapko? I'll be better off without you anyway". She folded her arms and turned her gaze away to the other side to calm herself down.
Kaushik very innocently fell for kunj's drama. Not a soul could have imagined that this was all made up by him because of the intensity with which he narrated the whole thing. Kaushik looked at twinkle and said scolding her," twinkle ye kya baat hui, koi itne bade journalist ke saath aisa bartaav karta hai bhala? Apologise to him right now". Twinkle looked at him with utter disbelief, "par sir...", Kaushik added cutting in between," I said now twinkle!"
Somehow controlling herself from bursting out, she said looking at kunj," I'm sorry". Kunj shrugged his shoulder and said, trying to control his laugh," bol toh aise rahi ho jaise ki koi ehsaan kar rahi ho? Thode pyaar se boliye na... aap roz breakfast mei karela khati hai kya?" kunj turned away his face trying to showcase anger on his face but was dying to laugh out loud seeing twinkle's expression at that moment. Twinkle took a deep breathe to compose herself and said, "Sorry".
Kunj:" itne pyaar se bologi toh kaun gussa rahega, chalo aap bhi kya yaad rakhogi ki kiss dilwale se pala pada tha, maaf kia aapko".
Kaushik turned to kunj and said," aur aaj se mai tumhe lisence deta hu, tum isse naam se bula sakte ho". Kunj still continuing with his acting pointed towards twinkle and said," par sir, kahi fir se ye..." Kaushik assured," trust me, woh kuch nahi karegi." Kunj added," agar aise baat hai toh mai ek aur permission chahta hu sir, kya mai inhe aap ke badle tum bula sakta hu?" Kaushik agreed," sure".
Twinkle was still in shock. She couldn't understand what was happening. She had come here to complain about him and yet she was the one being complained about. She stood silent witnessing all the happenings quietly trying to measure his audacity. Kunj turned towards twinkle, he had a wicked yet cute smile on his face, he said loudly still looking at her," thank you sir".
At that moment, Kaushik got a phone call and he took their leave to attend to it. Twinkle was fuming with rage, she gave kunj a stare powerful enough to send a chill through one's spine and murmured, "Kitna jhoot bolta hai ye... apna kaam nikalwane ke liye tedhe medhe tareeke use karne se abhi tak baaz nahi aya. Mujhe hi jhoota bana dia issne toh." She continued murmuring to herself "acting toh aise kar raha hai jaise ki agla Oscar iss ko milne wala hai, jee toh kar raha hai ki iska gala daba du."
"Toh daba do" kunj's sudden reply startled her. She looked at him with a jerk. Kunj was leaning on a chair and playfully looking at her. She looked at kunj with disbelief. Kunj continued," Gala dabane ka jee kar raha hai toh daba do". She looked at him with shock. She thought to herself," isko kaise pata chala?" He made a baby face and came near her, still continuing," agar gala dabana hai toh daba do, kamsekam maut toh tumhare baaho mei naseeb hogi... fir chahe jahannum hi jaana pade toh koi gham nahi..."
He said it with such charm and intensity that she immediately fell for it. She was lost in his eyes, with an unknown attraction she started to walk towards him and was about to caresse his cheek. Kunj understanding her feelings forwarded his cheek to her," choone ya fir kiss karne ke liye you are always welcome" he said teasing her with that killer smile of his on his face. Twinkle still lost in him, lowered her eyes blushing heavily. Kunj huskily said," hayye! Inn palko ko yu na jhukao meri jaan, dil pe churiya chal jaati hai..."
Twinkle suddenly snapped out of her bubble and was brought back to reality. Pushing Kunj back a little she said," kitna bada drama kiya tumne abhi sir ke saamne, meri koi galti na hone ke bawajud mujhe data padwayi aur sorry bhi bulwaya... Ek number ke dramebaaz ho tum... nautanki kahike. "Kunj casually replied," ab ye toh Kunj Sarna ka style hai." And winked," kya karu baby, aadat se majboor hu". Kaushik entered the room at the moment. He addressed both of them taking his seat," achha hua tum dono yahi ho, maine Kunj ko welcome karne ke liye kal ek party rakhi hai, so make sure tum dono kal free ho." They both nodded their heads and left.
Yuvraj had returned just in time for lunch. He straight away went to twinkle's cabin. Twinkle was on her chair, resting her head back. Kunj wasn't there at the moment as he had some errands to run. Yuvraj pulled out a chair and made himself comfortable besides her, putting his hand on her back he said," bauhat pareshaan lag rahi ho, kya baat hai? Kahi usne toh kuch..." twinkle dissapointingly said," naam mat lo uska, dimaag kharab karke rakha hai mera... jabse aya hai apni harkato se irritate kare jar aha hai mujhe." She got up from her chair and moved towards the window," bina kaam kiye hi mai itna thak gayi hu ki kaam karne ka bhi man nahi kar raha" Yuvraj consoled her,"Don't worry, main hoon na tumhaare saath.Usey main koi bhi ulti seedhi harkate nehi karne dunga, I promise.Achcha ab chalo kuch kha lete hai, mujhe bauhat bhook lagi hai aur tumhe bhi lag rahi hogi na?" twinkle nodded her head in agreement and left with him to the canteen. On the way twinkle looked at Yuvi and said," tum mera kitna khayaal rakhte ho yuvi...", yuvi smiled back at her.
While in the canteen twinkle said," babaji kitni thakaan ho rahi hai... Kash mera banana smoothie mil jaye abhi toh kitna achha hota." Yuvi was about to call the waiter to order her smoothie, when the waiter came upto them and handed over a glass of banana smoothie to twinkle. Twinkle got really happy and excitedly exclaimed, "wow meri smoothie." She then confusingly asked the waiter," ek second humne toh abhi tak order nahi kia kuch, fir ye kaise aa gayi?" the waiter pointed towards a man, who turned out to be kunj, to the dismay of both twinkle and Yuvraj. Yuvi was jealous beyond extent.. Twinkle tried to look angry but somewhere deep down she was happy to know that he still remembers these small little things about her.
Kunj came over to their table and addressed twinkle," mujhe pata tha ki tu bauhat thak gayi hogi, issliye order kar dia maine". He then turned to Yuvi and said," abbey kaisa dost hai tu, apne best friend ko itne saalo ke baad mil raha hai, gale nahi lagega mere? Kahi apne dost ko bhool toh nahi gaya tu?" Yuvi reluctantly got up and hugged Kunj and asked, "Kaisa hai tu?" kunj bluntly replied looking at twinkle," apni jaan ke bina kaisa ho sakta hu." Yuvi was blinded by rage but chose to keep quiet. Kunj looked at both of them and continued, "waise tum dono toh mujhe yaha baithne ke liye invite kar nahi rahe ho, issliye mai khud ko hi invite kar leta hu". Saying this he pulled out a chair and sat along with them. All this while Kunj kept talking to yuvi, who was hesitantly answering him back. Twinkle didn't utter a word during that lunch, she kept quiet all that time. They finished their lunch. Kunj turned to yuvi and said," ek kaam kar mera bhi bill de dena, akhir itne saalo ke baad aya hu... itna toh tu apne dost ke liye kar hi sakta hai..." yuvi half heartedly paid his bill.on seeing yuvi's condition, kunj amusingly said to himself," mauke pe chauka maarne ki gustakhi ki hai tune, ab bhugatna toh tujhe padega... aage aage dekh tere saath aur kya kya hota hai..."
All then left for office.Twinkle's mood was already spoiled,so in order to make up to her,Yuvi proposed her for a dinner date.After a lot of requesting,Twinkle reluctantly agreed.Kunj listened to everything from behind the door.
It was the afternoon time, A peon slowly came towards Yuvi's car.He kneeled down very suspiciously beside one tyre and after looking on both sides carefully,he punctured it.In the same cautious manner,he returned and addressed a man,"Maine aap ka kaam kar diya hai Sirjee."The man gave him a 500 rupees note, the man was none other than Kunj.He gave a very wicked smile and thought to himself,"Mere moujudgi mein tu meri Twinkle ko dinner date pe leke jaana chahta tha na? Ab ja." After a tiring day's work, Twinkle and Yuvi came out of the office and moved towards his car.He suddenly noticed his car's punctured tyre.He kicked that tyre,"Oh s**t! Is tyre ko bhi abhi puncture hona tha?"He tried to mend it up as Twinkle waited by his side.Kunj was watching everything from a distance and went into a flashback.
FLASHBACK
"Kunj tum apni iss khatara bike ko bech kyu nahi dete?" said twinkle sounding a little irritated. She was impatiently waiting besides kunj who was trying to fix his bike. On hearing her comment kunj got up and said," dekho twinkle tum mujhe jo chahe bol lo, mai sun lunga par meri bike ko kuch mat kehna... Ye meri khud ki kamaai se kharidi hui apne liye pehli gift hai, kitni saari pyaari yaadein judi hai iske saath." Twinkle jealously said,"Bike ki baat aayi to main baby se Twinkle ban gayi huh? Kabhi kabhi na tumhaari ye bike mujhe meri sautan lagti hai.Ek baar shaadi ho jaane do phir dekhna sabse pehle is bike ko thikaane lagaungi mai." Kunj was again about to say something but twinkle stopped him by placing her finger on his lips,"Ssshhh!"She came close to him and caressed his face and looking very deeply into his eyes, said,"Main tumse bauhat pyar karti hu Kunj.Tum mere liye meri zindagi se bhi zyaada aziz ho aur main tumhe kisike bhi saath,kisi bhi keemat mein nehi baat sakti." Kunj smiled sweetly and pulled her towards him by her waist and was about to kiss her,but Twinkle pushed him back,"Yahaa tak ki tumhaare is khataara bike ke saath bhi nehi,samjhe?"She made a cute face and Kunj smiled contently looking at her. Seeing her smile made time stop for him.

Kunj smiled thinking of those days," hayye, woh bhi kya din the..." and promised looking at twinkle," dekhna baby mai who din wapas le aunga, sab kuch theek kar dunga mai... sirf tumhaare liye," he paused and corrected himself, "nahi hamare liye.. ye tumhare kunj ka vada hai tumse".
On the other side Yuvi had just failed in his last attempt to fix the tyre. It was getting late and it wouldn't be easy to find a mechanic at this hour of the night. Yuvi suggested that he'll drop twinkle home in a taxi. To which twinkle assured him that she can go home alone. After a lot of convincing, yuvi agreed to let her go home by herself with a condition that she'll call him as soon as she reaches home. Twinkle agreed. Before leaving to get a taxi she enquired as to how yuvi would get home, he said he'll manage and twinkle left.
Kunj was still observing everything. He thought to himself," Mere saamne meriwaali pe line maar raha hai" and said mimicking Yuvi's voice,"Main tumhe taxi se ghar chor du?" and then continued,"Abey hat! Uske liye main hoon na.Bada aaya." He went behind Twinkle very silently without letting Yuvi know about his presence and when she got a taxi,Kunj ,too, followed her home secretly with another taxi.
