Imma try my best to argue for both sides. I know the timeline in the show is different but bear with me for arguments sake. 😊
Twinkle Taneja:
Daughter who loves her mother. Eats less when she lies to her. Spent a night out in the rain trying to punish herself. Swallowed poison in the worry her mother might do so instead. Right now we have the image in our minds, right? (if you don't please try to pretend so I feel like I'm making sense 😆 )
Enter Yuvraj Luthra:
He's a bad boy, and he makes Twinkle fall in love with him. Now I'm quite young so I don't know much about this sort of thing, but don't most girls go through a 'bad boy' phase? (Atleast that's what I've learnt from Wattpad) it wouldn't have been very hard for Teinkle to infatuated with him. Also the fact that they were star-crossed lovers, essentially Romeo and Juliet, must've made him seem even more appealing. The struggle that they would have to go through would fuel and add fire to their love.
The twist in their love story is that he's more than just the bad boy with a pained past of losing his father, but he's a sadist that wants revenge. We've never really seen a scene about it, but how hard would it be to make Twinkle fall in love with him if he tried. He can fake charming and loving, the troubled soul, and at the time, Twinkle could've been naive enough to buy his act. He made Twinkle fall in love with him, and when you love someone, no matter the relationship, and as much as Twinkle blindly loved him, it can be heartbreaking to go against them, to accuse them.
Which brings me to my next point: Twinkle does not love Kunj yet. She cannot claim to know him, who he is, as person, because they haven't spent anytime with eachother on a clean slate yet. After the first two meeting they basically thought that the other was a dirty minded person. Any time after they cleared that misconception, they were focussed on getting rid of the other person, as they were already in love with someone else. They do not know eachother, and as Kunj said, it was just a little bit of friendship and a lot of trust, which broke.
The farmhouse incident. Imagine you are drugged, only for short yet traumatising moments returning to consciousness. You notice the coat of the person, significantly so you recognise whose it's is. You then find the same person on top of you, and remember how much you angered them before, and that they said to look at their anger. I know that it's an Indian drama and I know that it's fiction but if we suspend our belief for one moment and take a step back and see what happens in real life, it suddenly makes a lot more sense. Twinkle was in real danger. We want to believe that she believes in Kunj's goodness because we know the truth but she doesn't. And we can't do anything about that became she has every right to. We see stories like this in the news, young girls getting raped by men that they trusted, even more alarming and disturbing stories of it happening by family members, so why do we find it so difficult to believe that Twinkle thought so and believes so, because to her she has the proof she needs.
Twinkle agreed to marry Kunj for her mother's sake and my personal theory is that so she wouldn't be tempted to go back to Yuvraj again and risk hurting her mother. That doesn't mean she can feel fully comfortable yet because it's not entirely clear to her what happened. I'm sorry but I don't want any romantic scenes between the two until this misunderstanding is cleared.
Is the main reason why we've become less inclined to Teinkle is because she managed to fall in love with someone who is evil but not with someone who is the epitome of good? I still go on to say that what Teinkle had with Yuvi was an infatuation and I don't think it was true because it was so violent and unhealthy. Twinkle will take her sweet time to fall in love with Kunj, and when she does, it'll be true.
Oh, one last point- am I the only one who thinks the fact that she didn't want to change her name to Sarna wasn't such a big deal, I mean what she was praying seemed to be what I would feel. With all the other scenes I found them hilarious, I mean they did promise a tashan e shaadi, and that's what we're getting right? Call me crazy but I kinda like it when couples fight with eachother, I think it's kinda important to hold your own 😆
TBH I love both of them, and until Twinkle does something Maha stupid, I don't really hate her, same goes for Kunj too. They're both so different, that I think it's important to acknowledge their differences and love them for their own individual quirks. Then it would be fair on both, right?
(Okay, I'm really sorry for this super long post and my thumbs ache but I know I said I was gonna try and keep it unbiased but that kinda failed, so sorry about that)
