The Yellow ChairTwinkle was sitting in the middle of Kunj's room, staring at one spot for a long time.
Kunj had stepped outside of the room for a little while to grab himself some coffee. When he came back, he saw her in that same spot, her back hunched over, her chin resting in the palm of her right hand.
He followed her gaze and saw the object of her attraction - a chair.
"Twinkle..." He said tentatively looking back at her. "Are you okay?"
"That is the ugliest thing that I have ever seen." She said in a very disinterested tone.
"What are you talking about? You know my grandma got me that." Kunj spoke defensively.
"Your grandma needs to get a new pair of glasses because that is hideous!" She straightened her back, ready to fight. "I mean... look at it!" She gestured at it with disgust. "A yellow chair. Yellow! It doesn't even suit the decor of your room."
Kunj looked around his room but didn't see anything wrong with it.
"Your room is so calm and collected and composed like you and then we have this big, fat, ugly yellow blob. It's not even tucked away in a corner so that we might ignore it. No, it has to be put smack in the middle of the room so that it can hurt everyone's eyes." Twinkle complained.
"If you don't like it, then close your eyes. But we're not getting rid of it." Kunj spoke.
"Who said to get rid of it?" Twinkle said. "All I'm saying is that we should relocate it. To somewhere out of here." She said pointing at the door.
"Twinkle," He enunciated, putting his hands on his hips. "We're not taking it out."
"But Kunj, it's hurting my eyes." She pouted.
"If you're going to spend hours staring at it, of course it's going to hurt your eyes. What else do you expect?" Kunj asked.
Twinkle hmphed and looked away. Kunj sighed and looked up at the ceiling.
He looked at the chair and then back at Twinkle. He went over to sit by her on the bed.
Kunj poked her on the arm. She scooted away from him. He scooted closer and poked her again.
She looked at him irritated and slid back on the bed.
He followed.
Twinkle took a pillow and held it in her arms, still annoyed with him.
Kunj took the pillow away from her and laid his head down in her lap. He hid his face against her belly and hugged her.
"Kunj!" Twinkle yelled. "I'm mad at you. Stop it!"
She giggled as he shook his head against her.
"This isn't fair Kunj!" She said laughingly as he shook his head again.
His soft hair and the consistent movement of his head tickled her belly.
When he peeked up at her, he had a soft smile on his face. His hair was mussed and he had a certain glow in his eyes.
Twinkle melted at his sight and leaned down to kiss his cheek.
When she raised her head, she grinned at the wide smile he was giving her.
"Twinkle, we're not getting rid of the chair. But we can change the decor of the room so that it fits both you and me." Kunj said. "It's not just mine anymore. And the chair, yeah my grandma had given it to me, but it reminds me of you."
Twinkle tilted her head, slightly confused.
"It's bright. It's peppy, colorful, soothing and full of happiness. Like you." He elaborated.
Kunj touched her cheek as she blushed profusely.
"Sound like a good plan?" He asked.
Twinkle nodded her head.
"Sounds like a great plan."
She leaned her head back in to kiss him.
