Hi all. I've been really disappointed with the TMKOC writers lately. What kind of a spineless fool are they depicting Jethalal to be? The last time I checked, his character was supposed to be that of an intelligent businessman, who was a bit frustrated with every day problems of life. But, here, we have a Jethalal who cannot even utter a word against his saintly father. Otherwise, his father bullies him and he has to go on a bhukh-hadtal.
In an interview or something, I heard either Dilip Joshi or Asit Modi say that they try to depict Jetha having so much respect for Champak as an ideal example for society. That's fine. But, I hope they realize that this "overdose of respect" has now crossed the line. Afterall, what kind of a parent constantly bullies his child and publicly disrespects him?
I love TMKOC and will continue to watch it despite all of its flaws because it's a great, clean show that one can enjoy with family. There are of course, many positives of the show such as the fantastic acting by the major actors, respect to indian culture and in general, the positive message the show provides.
