From a reader of TMKOC in chitralekha

I have been reading Taarak Mehta's articles for past 15 years and I'm a big fan of him.
I liked the show initially but now it's going nowhere.

You know the articles in Chitralekha are so so good. Even still I go back and read older articles and they still make me laugh. I wonder why don't they choose articles from there instead of calling celebrities and showing stupid mahaanta!

There are so many interesting characters who aren't been introduced yet.
1) Mehta's Khadoos Boss
2) Manjari- Boss' wife
3) Sulu Masi- Manjari's mother, who becomes fond of Mehta and Jethalal family and becomes a very good friend of Champaklal

These were only to name a few. And the list goes on..

The heart of the Taarak Mehta articles is, nobody is perfect. Everyone has flaw. The life is all about living with people who are nothing like you, to learn something from everyone, how to live with limitations and still be happy. The articles never focused on how perfect or mahan someone is. Even older episodes were like this. That's why it still manages to make me smile.

But nowadays. It's going nowhere.👎🏼 It's high time to make it better.

Not everyone. But there's Popatlal, who's married to Mangala and he beats her.
The character equivalent to Sodhi(Quite a Minor character) is always drunk.

But then again, they have changed many things.

In originals,

Daya doesn't speak too much. She's always shy and Jethalal doesn't respect her decisions, etc.

Mehta's wife isn't diet conscious, but in fact, completely opposite. She's a fatty one! 😆

Sundar in theseries is actually like Mehta's boss' brother-in-law- Vibhakar from original. The original Sundar is a smuggler.


Babita's character name is Ranjan. She's known as Hemamalini of their society. Tapu knows that Jethalal has a crush on her, so he calls her Ranjan'Bua' to tease him!😆

😆 i m glad some changes were made...most of these would not have worked on TV...

True. Some changes are good.
But the thing is, Taarak Mehta had started writing Tapuda since 1965 or something.( I don't remember the exact year.) So the situations then and in 2008 is quite different obviously. But he's a genius to create such immortal characters. (Immortals to them who're reading it since forever.) 😊
