Swaran-Ajeet's letters to each other are an important part of building up this story and providing background/context of their relationship and the reasoning for why Bedi Saab handed Swaran's responsibility to Ajeet.

I will use this thread to post transcripts of the letters since the makers only show a few glimpses of the letters in the scenes so far....and to make my life easier, I'm going to call them Swajeet for ease of typing 😆

Swajeet Letter 1: Ajeet talks about his daughter

"Priya Swaran,

Kal Mallu ka janamdin tha. O Mallu, meri beti Malini - aathvaa (8th) janamdin tha uska. Dilli gaya tha na, toh wahaan Lajpat Nagar se uske liye pariyon waala libaas laaya tha. Bahut ziddi hai woh - maine sar pe baitha ke rakha hai...usne farmaaish ki aur maine laa di. Maine use sar pe baitha ke rakha hai, par betiyaan toh hoti hi hain sar pe baithaane ke liye. Yaad hai, tujhe bhi toh betiyaan hi chahiye thi na? Par tere toh teen bete ho gaye."

Swajeet Letter 2: Ajeet talks about his fav. songs and movies

"Aasha karta hoon tum theek ho, khush ho. Kal hum pura parivaar film dekhne gaye the. Waise toh Pooja ko film dekhne ka shauk nahin hai, lekin Govinda ki film hoti hai na toh bacche manaa lete hain. Sabko pata hai na mera chaheeta hero hai😆. Tujhe yaad hai? Hum sab woh ikatthe film dekhne gaye the - Do Qaidi aur woh gaana mere muh pe chadh gaya tha - Ding dong, O baby sing a song😆. Mujhe pata hai ab tu hasegi...yaad hai tu naraaz ho gayi thi mujhse, hain? Kya karun, Govinda mere abhi bhi chaheete hain. Tere Bedi Saab toh yeh sab sunte nahin honge. Waise aaj kal mera chaheeta gaana 'Hum' se hai - 'ek dusre se karte hain pyar hum, ek dusre ke liye bekaraar hum'. Sunke dekhle - bahut hi pyara gaana hai. Waise le jaa Bedi Saab ko bhi yeh film dikhaane - paarivaarik film hai, unhein achha lagega😆. Chal phir likhta hoon".

TFS - It's really nice concept of transcribing the letters rather than a summary. 👍 More clear perception is developed & comprehended.

I liked the nuanced toning of these letters like some form of comforting wala sentiment is developed as a reader & viewer.

In the first one, Ajeet's description of hanging out with his daughter -- I liked the specific line wherein he mentions his daughter sat on his head & how daughters are pride of their fathers via "betiyaan hoti h sar par baitaane k liye."

Second one has a nuanced layering of light-hearted moments as one reads through the letters, especially with him as a Govinda fan & suggesting Bedi saab a homely movie lol. 😂

It’s a pure and tight friendship they had.. they used to share every small - big moments in their life as they were best friends! 👍🏼

P.S. I hope we get to see Swaran’s letter replies to Ajeet.

@bold: Exactly....you feel the warmth of their relationship through these letters and that is why I'm so enjoying this trope in the story. I can only hope it continues to be nicely used in the narrative alongside all the other drama😆

I'm wary of how Ajeet's daughter will turn out whenever they show the grown up version of her😆....since he's talking here about how ziddi she is and he's basically pampered her so much, high chances she may turn out to be some kind of grey character....but I'm still hoping she turns out to be a positive force in Swajeet's life....Swaran always yearned for a daughter and I guess they will explore that aspect through her equation with Ajeet's daughter as the story develops.

Word....you get that actual feel of a true friendship through these letters....they didn't hesitate to share any details about their lives with each other - including everything about their spouses and children....this shows that their friendship was stronger than whatever heartbreak they felt over their love remaining unfulfilled....and they wanted to continue wishing the best for each other even if they were seperated.

Yes, I also hope we are shown Swaran's replies to some of these letters in the future...let's see how the makers explore that.

thanks AY ji for making this thread jahaan ill keep mandraaoing like ek time pe I was in yours and NM's gifs thread😆

these letters really are so endearing to read

and I know it's a common greeting in letters but jab Ajeet says his aasha karta hoon ki tum theekh ho khush ho it holds a different meaning...jo aadmi in all of these 30 saal has only that as his main concern❤️

also manifesting ki mallu...maaalu types nahi nikle *prays earnestly*😛

You're very welcome, GT ji :) Glad you liked the thread 😆....I enjoy transcribing these letters....hope we get more nice ones revisiting in the coming weeks :)

@bold: Aww yes, it hits differently when Ajeet says it like that cuz it just doesn't feel like a general "hope you're doing well"....he genuinely means it dil se cuz itne saal apart reh ke bhi fikar hi ki hai Swaran ki and always wished her well.

Oh I'm trying not to think about Mallu yet😆....woh trauma jab aayega tab soch lenge....lol
