Welcome - to thread 3

#2 was great for it saw the return of Viji (Cogito_Ergo_SumšŸ¤—) and the silent presence of Bubble (Soapbubble), herFF- The best of Things is one the the best FFs on SR - beautiful, takes off on the serial, quite close to the canon and yet brilliant in the way both the couples deal with what life has dealt them - the redemption of Ragini, the way Swara and Sanskaar fall in love, how Laksh matures and comes to accept his fault in the whole scenario and grows to love Ragini - my favourite FF. Maybe this thread will see a response from her.

Thread 2 also saw a new member - Piyali - welcome, sweetheart.

Note: I wanted to change the intro a bit, but too lazy to do so, if any of you guys have suggestions, do drop them in the SR DOTW and I will incorporate them herešŸ˜†

Swaragini was originally started off as the tale dealing with the incomplete love story of Shekhar and Sharmistha who have separated and moved on in life with their respective families but are later united by their daughters Swara and Ragini But soon it moved on to a tale of half-sisters and cousins, of sibling rivalry turning murderous, of love lost and betrayed, of vengeance turning into friendship, friends falling into love and lovers finding soul mates.

[Cannot resist mention here, the serial is dubbed in Arabic and aired on MBC Bollywood as "Wamin Alhabi Ma Qatal" Google translates as same as "It is love what is Killed" Any reader with knowledge of Arabic could give a better translation, but it is suitable, in a twisted way]

It was a story that pitted sister against sister, blood against blood and showed us that love can be found in the most unlikely places and at unlikely times.

An enchanting story of a man finding love when he had given up on it and a woman who stopped believing in its existence. Swara and Sanskaar are a magical, spellbinding couple, whose intense love story is undoubtedly one for the ages. It is for sublimely beautiful sagas like theirs, that ballads have been composed and epics written. They embody soul mates in every sense of the term. To see SwaSan, is to recollect the immortal lines of Rabindranath Tagore's great poem: 'Unending Love'

"I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times...
In life after life, in age after age, forever."

An unbelievable love story of a woman who fought destiny to win the man she loved, who did not hesitate to try to kill her sister (twice), who watched her parents break up and who descended to the depths of hell to keep him only to realise that he had never had and might never love her. And in one of the contradictions of life, it was only when she gave up on him that she won him over. Ragini and Laksh represented a love story of imbalances, her intensity pitted against his immaturity and her obsessiveness matched by his impulsiveness. RagLak depict to an earthly love, capable of dusty sandstorms when crossed and creating an oasis when at peace with each other. Their love story is synonymous with what Ragini says when she, for a brief second, realises the futility of love and of her love story with Laksh

"Mohabbat buri hai, kahe jaate hain, kiye jaate hain"

A serial which kept us hooked to the inane twists in the plots, the mind numbing tracks, some were downright ridiculousšŸ˜• and others demanded a suspension of logic to remain sane. Quite a few of us stopped watching it, though we never stopped our visits to this forum and some of us took to writing to overcome the angst and agony at the tracks shown. And once it ended, it has left a huge vacuum in our hearts and we still resort to writing to relive those days.😭

(credit - write up on SwaSan - Viji (@Cogito_Ergo_Sum - how we miss her, and Shru and a few others who no longer visit this forum😭)

And for all of us who are still unable / unwilling to leave their world

A chance to relive those days,

An opportunity to reminisce the times that have gone by

A reason to talk about SwaSan, Swaragini and this forum

A place to come back to for as Harshada (@lovetowrite) said,

"I miss Sanskar.

I miss Swara.

I miss SwaSan.

I miss Swaragini.

I miss this forum

It has been seconded by quite a few of us though Nimmi (@ Banjaaran) put it quite well "I miss my girls and friends. I miss myself; the one I used to be in the forum; be it being writer or analyzing or drooling or bashing or even fighting. This is home and I miss my home and above all my home mates. And yes the reason why we all were here... Sanskaar and Swara and SwaSan.

For when Harshu (a big squishy hug to you) posted this thread, we found quite of our friends here and that set me thinking, (not a very nice thing, it leads to complicated things, this thread being proof or ends up with my writing stories) a general discussion thread seems to garner more response than a story so how about having a regular periodical thread where all of us can talk our hearts out on one specific topic'

And that is how this was born😊

Where every week we shall select one topic to discuss it threadbare, anything thing under the sun as long as it is related to Swaragini. How do we select the topic, any of us can decide, I shall give the link where you can post the topic and the next Friday, the DOTW would be on that topic.

Well the avoidance of "Dwithya Vighnam seems to have worked, for I think I am in time for #3😊

Rules and Regulations seems so formal, but then we would need a few of self imposed guidelines, so here are we with:

1. Please maintain the peace of the thread and this forum.

2. Please discuss only the topic the thread has been prepared for, if you would like to discuss anything else, please post the topic in the SR - DOTW thread and we shall prepare a new thread for the same in the coming weeks.

3. Please refrain from making personal comments against the actors, this discussion is only about the characters of Swaragini serial and the tracks already shown.

4. Please do not discuss the actors' personal lives or off screen issues in this thread.

5. Please note that discussion about one character does not mean bashing the other characters nor does it imply that being a fan of one character / one couple must necessarily involve hating everyone else.

6. There would be topics / opinions with which you might not agree with or like. Please mention your disagreement / dislike in a polite manner. If is it difficult to do so, because of being emotionally vested in the serial or the character, just mention, "I do not agree". The rest will respect your opinion.

7. Finally, the most important, as the 13th century Sufi saint said, "Raise your argument, not your voice"

One final reminder, two actually - Please do not quote any post more than once, the increase tower of quotes makes it difficult to follow as to who is responding to whom. Further, please do not spam, there would be a new DOTW every week, so there is no need to complete one before the next one starts.

And now for the topic - I hope this generates even more discussionšŸ˜†

Any one will do, good, bad ugly - it could be one of those beautiful goose bump inducing dialogue that we relive over and over again. Or a shackle raising one - one which we desperately wish could be unheard - where our blood boils just thinking of it.

One that could be said by the protagonist and you feel like leaping into the TV sets and shaking them to senses. Or those uttered by an antagonist that makes you pause and think, "Hey, maybe that is right"

There must have been numerous instances right, when we agreed with what the villain / vamp of the season said, šŸ˜•and wanted to beat our heads against nearest wall listening to our lovable couple😔. S

o bring it out and let the discussion begin.šŸ˜†

And done - As Mark Anthony declared "Cry Havoc and let slip the dogs of war"
Okay that was absolutely over the top melodramatic of me

Anyway, bring out your tablets and let loose your thoughts, which dialogue(s) effected you the most.

Will send the pms - if not needed, let me know, I will stop for the next thread😃

Nynu my Dear šŸ¤—šŸ¤—

Ok here goes. My favourite, most memorable, most cherished, achingly lovely and goose bump inducing dialogue:

" Main tumse pyar karta hoon, Swara. Yeh pyar kab or kaise hua, pata nahi. Yeh pyar tumhi se kyon hua, pata nahi! Iss pyar ka koi manzil hai bhi ya nahi, pata nahi! But...I love you, Swara. Tumhare bina ab jeene ka soch bhi nahi sakta..."

Sigh. Double sigh. Triple sigh. A hundred sighs. ā˜ŗļø

It was that dialogue which will live on within me for years, even decades. Love...in its most intense, irrevocable and unquenchable form. And yet, a selfless love, one that sought only the happiness of the beloved, not to 'possess' her or impose his feelings on her.

What made that dialogue all the more poignant was the melancholy it carried. At that point, Sunny really hated himself for what he had done to Swara, he was so filled with remorse and the desire to redeem himself. Mixed with his immense emotions for Swara, was also a feeling that he probably did not deserve to feel this way about her (or hope to have her return his love for her).

Sheer depth of emotions...pointing to the layers and shades, the edges and planes in this fascinating man's character.

A second favorite dialogue of mine would be "mohabbat buri hai...buri hai mohabbat. Kahe jaa rahe hai, kiye ja rahe hai..." by Ragini. Love of another kind...the covetous, obsessive, almost malignant kind, that brings peace and joy neither to the lover nor to the beloved.

As the dialogue in the movie Ram Leela goes "bahut beraham, khudgarz aur besharam hota hai. Par pyar to aise hi hota hai!"

That was the love Ragu felt for Lucky. A cruel, shackling kind of Love, burning like a hellfire within her, consuming much of the goodness and generosity of spirit that she truly had. A love that would remorselessly crush anything and everything that stood in its path...even if that person happened to be family...or her beloved himself!!

These are favourite 2 dialogues, because they offer an insight into 2 very different kind of loves. And to two very different kind of people...although both very layered, both very complex, both extremely fascinating.

Lots of Love

Viji

Another small gem of a dialogue from the serial----well, its actually a monologue--- is the heartfelt and simple "I'll miss you Swara"...which Sunny speaks in his own mind, when they decide it's better for Swara to leave Maheshwari House and return to Kalibaadi.
Such a disarmingly simple and direct acceptance of his unconditional and selfless love for her. No wonder, that even though he hadn't spoken the words aloud, Swara still heard him!

Emotion wise, this made me recall the description of Love which the great, great Madhuri Dixit gives in her role of Chandramukhi in the film Devdas: "Pyar aatma ki parchayi hota hai, Ishq Ishwar ka Ibadat, aur Mohabbat Zindagi ka maqsad. "

Sigh...šŸ˜³ā˜ŗļø For Sunny, Swara was his aatma, his ibadat and his maqsad. What a love story this is...one truly for the ages. Poetic, romantic, the stuff epics and ballads are written about.

Now for a dialogue which made me cringe. 😳 Not a dialogue as such, its more of incessant repetition of certain words.
One was "pehla pyar" and the other was "haq". 😔🤢

Is it just me, or is this whole obsession with "first love" completely overdone? First loves aren't always true loves. First loves may just be puppy/calf loves, infatuations and crushes, nothing more. Of course, there are the blessed few who meet their soulmates in the first person they felt love for. But for the majority of us, I would wager, the first love turns out to be a passing fancy which gives way to the genuine, solid bedrock of a lifelong passion.

And "haq"...Oh.My.God. After this was said for the 753rd time (I think I am underestimating), it ensured I can never hear this word without wryly grinning to myself. 😃

I just realized that the dialogues/ words I have quoted so far have all been either Sunny's or Ragu's. 😳
To be fair, I must also tip the hat to the one character among the quartet of main leads whom I always loved to dislike, and then, later on, reluctantly felt ambivalent about. 😳 A tentative and grudging affection, even. šŸ˜‰

This was...no prizes for guessing...Lucky. šŸ˜‰ His "Aaaooowww Gaaawwwddd" will remain my personal go-to dialogue for ROFL inducing moments. šŸ˜† I challenge anyone to listen to that dialogue and not clutch your tummy in helpless laughter. šŸ˜‰
