A Love So Serene

- Part One -

He rested his head on back of the chair, keeping the file in his hand on the table. The soon he closed his eyes, her beautiful face flashed in front of them, bringing a smile on his lips. It couldn't last for long. The moment his mind decided to recall something else, that smile vanished in seconds and his face suddenly turned into a helplessly vulnerable one.

Straightening himself, he was about to call for his PA, Aman but stopped seeing him, himself coming towards his cabin.

"Sir, actually... umm... there is a girl outside and she is saying she wants to meet you and she doesn't even have an appointment." Aman stood in front of him, rubbing his hands frequently in nervousness of getting victim of his ruthless boss.

Sanskar rolled his eyes hearing him. If you can't handle this much thing, then why the hell I have appointed you!

"What's her name?" Sanskar pulled out a file from his table, roaming his gaze over it. On getting no response, he lifted his eyes, raising his eyebrows at Aman, who stood there, absolutely clueless.

"You didn't even ask her name? Are you serious? I think you don't need this job, do you?" Sanskar was losing it now, witnessing dumbness of his employees. Sometimes... no... often, they made him wonder, if he himself had chosen them?

"Of course I do, Sir" Aman blurted as soon as Sanskar finished. "Sir, I did ask her but she isn't ready to tell. She is saying she wants to meet you and its urgent and she will not go without meeting you" Aman told him rest of the story.

Sanskar stomped the file on table in frustration. Getting up, he walked a little further, near his glass partition. There he saw her back. Everyone in office was looking at her and gossiping. Of course, his employees just need a chance to get off of their work and gossips about Sanskar Maheshwari seemed their favourite pass time.

"Call her, NOW" he roared making Aman startle at his sudden change of tone. Aman turned to get disappear from his boss's sight.

"Stop" his voice made Aman's feet to stop at their place. Aman mentally cursed his luck. Everyone in Maheshwari enterprises was hell scared of Sanskar Maheshwari. No one. No one wished to stay in front of him for longer than 2 minutes. Sanskar Maheshwari, was definitely a difficult person to deal with and with his employees, it was none different.

"Ask everyone to get back to their work instead of gossiping, of course only if they want their job" he was way too good with words. He exactly knew how to make other's listen to him. He had a talent of dealing with all kinds of people.

"Ye...Yes Sir" Can he speak a sentence without stammering in front of him?

Aman almost rushed outside of his cabin.

"Excuse me. You can go, sir is waiting for you" Aman let that lady know she can go and meet him. She nodded and quickly made a way to meet him.

"Come in" Sanskar said, as he heard a knock on the door. He of course knew who it was.

She entered inside. Stumbling upon something, her bag fell down and some papers came out. Sanskar stood up to help her but she quickly gathered them and put back in her bag.

She lifted her face to him. She was a stranger to him. He didn't know her. He could see she looked visibly tensed.

"Hello, Mr. Maheshwari" she forwarded his hand to greet him.

"Hi...you?" he shook his hand with her, reciprocating her greeting, asking her, who she was.

"I am Anisha. Swara's friend" she replied, adding a little information about her by using name Swara' which according to her was enough to introduce her to him. Her sentence made his eyes wider. His hand instantly slipped from her hold. Swara... the mere mention of a name made his whole body stiffen. His muscles tightened themselves showing the impact of the name... Swara.

"Who...whose friend?" he asked to repeat her again, not believing what he just heard. She could see disbelief brimming in his eyes.

"Swara Gadodia's friend" she repeated herself, making herself clear for him to understand. His steps stumbled when he realised what she said. For a moment, his mind went blank. Taking some steps back, he settled down on his chair. He covered his face by his hands, unable to understand what to do.

"Come, have a seat" he noticed her, still standing there. He asked her to sit in front of him. She nodded. Following what he said, she took a seat in front of him.

"Mr. Maheshwari..."

"Call me Sanskar"

"Okay... Sanskar. I am here to discuss something important about Swara with you" her tone had become serious and he took no time to sense that.

"Firstly, tell me, where is she? You know, I have been searching her madly from past 2 years" he tried hard not to sound harsh in front of her but he couldn't control himself. He was angry... angry at Swara. He had been searching for Swara like a crazy from two years... two damn years! And after two years, he had found someone who could tell him something about Swara and scaring her with his anger was the last thing he wanted to do at that time.

"Sanskar, Swara is in New York" she answered his first question.

"New York?" he imitated her words with a confused look.

"Yes. New York. She is in New York from two years, with me. See I am basically her childhood friend and I shifted to New York for my studies and later settled there. Before two years, she came to New York and since then she is staying with me"

"I can't tell you much because I myself do not know but yeah, you surely need to know some things, for which today I am here" Anisha took a deep breath, preparing herself for speaking those things which were going to create something she did not want to think about.

Sanskar nodded, asking her to proceed. Anisha's tensed voice, worries in her tone, the choice of her words had produced an unknown scary fear in his heart. He didn't show much on his face but deep inside, he was just praying Swara to be fine.

"Sanskar, Swara needs you. She doesn't even know that I am here, with you. I haven't told her, because if I would have then she would have never let me come here. I don't know much about you two, but I found your photo and your letters in her stuff, and from that I can assume you two love each other, don't you?" she stared at him for while, expecting an answer to her question.

The absolute silence screamed in his cabin. He held the tears which were dying to come out of his eyes, hearing Anisha hearing about their love, again! It had been so long, that he had heard this word... love. It had been so long, since he had felt those emotions. It had been really long. He just nodded positively at her, letting her know that she wasn't wrong. Whatever she had figured out from Swara's stuff, about them, was indeed true. They loved each other.

Anisha smiled tenderly after realization of the fact that she was at correct place, with correct person. He signalled her to resume from where she had stopped.

"See this" she took out some papers from her bag and forwarded them towards him. He stared at confusingly, not understanding what she was doing. Without thinking much, he grabbed those papers from her hand remembering this was about Swara and he was ready to do anything to know about her.

He roamed his gaze over those papers, examining the matter written in it. "Custody papers?" he shifted his eyes from papers in his hand to her, slightly in confusion.

"Yes, custody papers! Some Sahil Sen Gupta as applied for custody of Ayan, Swara's son" Anisha replied him back, clearing his puzzlement.

Papers immediately landed on floor from his hand, the moment Anisha said Swara's son'

Swara's son...? So that means Swara is married? But... when and to whom? More essentially why and how? Numerous thoughts occupied his mind, blocking his peace of mind.

Anisha saw a pain in his eyes, a raw sharp pain, which seemed to be increasing second per second. On realising, it was after her mention about Ayan, she quickly said, "See Sanskar, I don't know much about this matter. Swara never told me, what exactly happened with her. She never talks about her past... to be specific, about her husband, Ayan's dad. I tried asking her many times but she always chooses silence over this topic"

"She isn't the same Swara, Sanskar. She is not that chirpy, bubbly and full of life girl, anymore which she used to be. She is just not! She has become something beyond my understanding. In front of Ayan only, she is happy or she pretends to be, I don't know. When she is around him, she looks like she is alive. Rest of the time... She Is Just A Lifeless Soul" Anisha continued. Her eyes turned moist as she remembered Swara's state, every time when she saw her. She found nothing but sufferings, her never ending sufferings, sufferings which were breaking her from inside, but she was still holding herself for sake of Ayan.

On the other side, Sanskar was in dilemma of how to react on knowing about Swara. He had remained nothing but a broken man after her, who was in search for Euphoria, who was longing to see his lady love again, who was craving to take her in his arms, making sure to not let her go away ever again, and who was dying to be with her, AGAIN!

He was dying to relive the beautiful life which once, he had, with her. She had made his life beautiful, with her love, care, innocence and with her presence.

He came out of his lost soul who had gotten busy recalling his past memories with her hearing Anisha's voice.

"Sanskar, from two days, since the time this letter had arrived, Swara is running very very tensed. I insisted her on telling me something about this matter but she refused. I told her that I want to help her but she denied, AGAIN! She clearly does not want me to get involved in this and she is all alone. She has no one, no one else she can take help from. Even her health is getting affected" Different emotions were building inside Sanskar, after each revelation of Anisha about Swara.

"I could think of you only. I am very worried for her. I want to help her, but don't know, how to. And I don't know why but I believe that, you will bring the old Swara back and will sort out everything in her life." A shine made itself visible in Anisha's eyes. Sanskar saw some unbelievable confidence in her tone on him. Though she was meeting him the very first time, but still, she seemed to be considering him as an angel, a protector, and a saviour... of Swara!

"Yes, I will. I will bring her back. I will make her the same, again. I will make everything alright in her life. I promise" Sanskar had not seen Swara from two years. He knows nothing about what was going in her life. He had no idea about, what happened to her, why she left him, why didn't she let him know even once that she was leaving for new York, Why she settled there, who was Ayan, was he really her son, was she married and if she was then to whom and where he is. So many questions and he was absolutely clueless. He was absolutely blank but still he was confident enough to make a promise, a promise that he will not let a slightest scratch on her, a promise that he will not let anything happen to her, a promise that he will find out everything and will make sure to bring Swara back... his Swara, who was as bright as sunshine, who was as sacred as a prayer, who was as pure as a goddess, who was as loving as an angel... who was the BEST.

- Part Two -

"You go back. Just send me your address and I will handle the rest" Sanskar told Anisha to go back to New York, with a assurance that he would be there, to make everything alright in Swara's life.

"Sure" Anisha agreed, knowing Swara must be searching for her.

Before Sanskar could say anything, Anisha's phone started ringing which stopped him from talking further.

"Swara" Anisha said, showing her phone's screen to Sanskar.

He looked so desperate to talk to her. He just stared at her name which was flashing on Anisha's phone's screen.

"Can you please put it on speaker? I want to hear her voice" Sanskar literally sounded like begging to hear Swara's voice that time.

Anisha couldn't deny him. She could see how much he was longing for Swara. She just nodded and put her phone on speaker.

"Anii, where are you? I have been searching for you since morning. You didn't even go to your office. Where are you?"

Sanskar froze hearing Swara's voice almost after 3 years. He was so craving for this. He couldn't hold the tears which were forming in his eyes.

"Swara, I am actually out for some office work only. I will get back home soon. Don't worry. Okay, bye" Anisha quickly disconnected call, knowing Swara would question her and most probably will find out where she is.

"Okay Sanskar, I will leave now" Anisha said, getting up from her chair.

"Anisha wait...let me click the pics of those custody papers" Sanskar took papers from her and clicked their photos, hoping he would find out something from them.

Anisha left for New York there and Sanskar sat on his chair, loosening his tie. So many revelations, in one day, for him...

He had absolutely gotten idea, that Swara was in big mess and now he had to take her out of it.

He wrapped up his work, let his manager to handle to work, finished the important commitments and left for New York.

In New York:

"Ayan, baby you woke up? Come here" Swara opened her arms for her son, when she saw him walking towards her, rubbing his eyes.

She lifted him in her arms, placing a kiss on his cheek, making him giggle.

"My baby is hungry? What do you want to eat? Tell me, mumma will make it for you" Swara kept him down.

"Mumma, aaloo ke parathe" he said impatiently, He absolutely loved anything made by Swara, but Aaloo ke parathe was something his all time favourite food.

"Okay, mumma will come back in ten minutes with your Aaloo ke parathe...till then you go and freshnup" Ayan, went to washroom, listening to his mumma.

"I love you Ayan and I am living for you, baby" Swara stared at his retreating back and went to kitchen to make food for him.

After 15 minutes:

Swara came with Aaloo ke parathe, and saw Ayan who was busy in watching cartoon. She called for him, "Ayan, your food"

He ran to her while she just smiled at his excitement. She walked with him towards the couch.

Keeping the plate on couch, she lifted him and made him sit on the couch and sat beside him.

"Ahh"

"Ayan, it's hot baby" Swara said, as Ayan touched the hot parathes. "Wait. I will feed you" she took a bite of paratha and fed Ayan, by dipping it in Yougurt.

He ate quietly from her hands. Aaloo ke Parathes with Dahi was specifically his favourite.

"Its yum, Mumma. You are the best. I love you"

A thin layer of tears formed on her eyes, hearing Ayan. "Mumma loves you too baby" she kissed on his cheek.

"Ayan, mai plate rakhkar aati hu" Swara stood up and walked towards her kitchen. Ayan nodded.

"Hey guys"

Swara couldn't move further. Her legs froze on hearing the voice. No No No... It can't be he. It can't. She tried making herself understand that it cannot be him. Her breathing pace increased, making it irregular. She turned back and the plate fell down from her hand, on witnessing him there. There he stood... with his charming smile...the smile with what she was fell in love with.

Her heart skipped a bit seeing him after so much time. He made his way towards Ayan. Sitting down on his knees, he forwarded his hand towards him, "Hi champ"

Ayan kept staring at him. He found something in Sanskar which didn't let him to turn his gaze from Sanskar. "Hi" Ayan said.

"What are you doing here?" Swara stepped forward, asking him with her eyes still not believing that he was in front of her.

"Mumma...you know him?" Ayan asked.

"Ayan, baby go inside. Its your favourite cartoon time. I will join you soon. Go" Swara made Ayan go to his room and he went quickly as she mentioned about cartoon.

Getting up, he replied, "Ohh you still remember me? I thought I vanished from your brain also"

"Shut up Sanskar...you should not be here." she turned her face from him, not wishing to meet his eyes.

"Ohh really? And who are you to decide that?" he questioned her back, getting in front of her.

She couldn't dare to look at him. He was just making things more difficult for her. It wasn't easy for her to pretend in front of him. She could not fake anything in front of him.

"Mumma...TV nahi chal raha...pls pls do something mumma...or else I will miss my favourite cartoon...please please" Ayan pulled Swara's saree catching her attention. She looked down, and saw an anxious Ayan. He badly wanted to see his cartoon.

Swara went inside with him to check TV. She tried but it didn't start. "Can I check?" Sanskar said peeping in the room. "Yes please" Ayan said impatiently. All what he wanted at that time was, to get his TV fixed so that he could watch his cartoon! "Ayaaan" Swara tired stopping Ayan but he gave her a cute puppy look mumbling please which made her helpless. She couldn't say anything further.

Sanskar stepped forward to check TV. He did something with its wires and it started working. Ayan clapped his hands, in excitement that he would be able to see his cartoon. "Thank you" he ran towards Sanskar. Hugging him, Ayan kissed on his cheek.

"You are welcome champ" Sanskar smiled at him getting in return a wider smile of Ayan.

"Waise aap kaun ho? Maine aapko kabhi dekha nahi pehle" Ayan let out his curiosity as Sanskar was a complete stranger for him. He had never seen Sanskar before.

"Your mumma didn't tell you about me?" Sanskar turned towards Swara and saw an extreme fear on her face. It almost seemed pale.

Ayan raised his eyebrows at Swara as if questioning Swara about what Sanskar was saying.

Seeing Swara so tensed, Sanskar quickly said, "I am your mumma's friend champ. I am new here and have no place to go." He told Ayan with a helpless and worried face, looking down.

Swara stood there, shocked. She was not able to understand what Sanskar was doing.

"No problem. You can stay with us. You are mumma's friend and moreover you fixed my TV so yes, you can stay here, with us" Ayan said happily. He wanted to help the person who solved his cartoon problem.

"Ayan. No baby. He can't stay with us" Swara pulled Ayan towards her, trying to make him understand that Sanskar cannot stay with them.

Ayan looked at Sanskar, who was standing there with a fallen face. "It's okay champ. Your mumma does not want me to stay here. I will see something" Sanskar said in a low voice and started walking out.

"Stop" Ayan said. He turned towards Swara and requested her, "Mumma please na...what happened? He is your friend na and you only taught me that we should help our friends in their need and now see what are you doing?"

"But Ayan" Swara tried interrupting him.

"No buts mumma. He doesn't seem bad. Please let him stay here na, please... for me?" he said not leaving a choice for Swara. She glared at Sanskar who was smiling little mischievously.

Turning towards Sanskar, Ayan said, "You can stay here. Right mumma?"

Swara just nodded and left the room.

"Thanks champ" Sanskar shared a high-five with Ayan. They both were bonded so much in such a little time that it was hard to believe that they were meeting for the very first time.

Ayan just smiled and got busy in watching his cartoon. "Aap bhi dekhoge mere sath?" he asked Sanskar as he found her still standing there.

"Why not?" Sanskar sat beside him, and joined him in watching cartoon. Both were having fun together. But Sanskar was not there for that. He had some more important work. He turned to Ayan's side and saw him asleep leaning on him.

He looked so innocent and cute while sleeping. Sanskar placed a kiss on his forehead before he lifted him; being careful enough not to break his sleep and laid down him properly on the bed. He covered Ayan with a blanket and left the room.

Swara was standing in her balcony, staring outside. His arrival had made her restless. She saw him after almost two years. He brought so many memories back, so many moments back, flashing right in front of her eyes. Already there is so much going wrong in the life, now don't know what god has planned by sending him again in my life! She shifted her gaze above in the sky to look for god, wondering what more was to come in her life.

- Part Three -

"So, how is life?" his voice, brought her back to reality. "Without me?" he added more, leaving not a single chance to remind her about their separation. He stood behind her, without walking front. Her fingers unknowingly clutched her saree in her fist. She really didn't want that. She really didn't wish for a face-off with him.

"That's none of your business" a bitter reply came from her, as she turned towards him. Though she didn't say much but still, her poker face said everything.

"Since, when you have grown distant from me? Everything related to you still comes under my business Swara. YOU are my business" he declared, stressing over his words, making it crystal clear that she could neither keep herself away from him nor could she consider her different from him. He would not let her do that.

"No, I am not" she replied immediately. "It all ended the day when I walked out of your life. It all ended the day I broke my every tie with you" she held back the thin layer of tears which was making its appearance in her eyes.

That was it. He pulled her by her arms, pinning her to the wall, locking her there. She was gazing at ground, making all the efforts she could, to get out of his grip.

"Stop! I said stop" he was maintaining his tone low as he was aware of the fact that Ayan was sleeping. He held her hands in a tighter grip, yet making sure that it would not hurt her.

"Whatever was between you and me, was between US. You and me were equally involved so how did you alone decide to walk out? How did you alone decide to break this relation? Tell me, how?" he asked, with his tone instantly changed, filled with lots of emotions. He was angry at her, frustrated at her and at the same time he was broken from deep inside when she just left him like that, without his consent, without even informing him.

She kept gazing at every possible direction except him. "Leave me Sanskar, you are hurting me" she said, lifting her face at him, looking at him with her agonizing eyes. He loosened his hold on her, when he caught a glimpse of her tears filled eyes.

Sliding his hand from her arm to her cheek, he held her face, cupping it gently, "Why Swara, why? why you left? Why didn't you tell me? Say, how could you just leave me like that? You didn't think twice that how would I live without you? Tell me, what happened so extreme which forced you to come here, leaving everything, without even informing me once?" he urged her to speak up while she chose to remain quiet.

His hold on her became gentle. His voice softened and his eyes sharpened as he looked deep in her eyes, "Swara...Mujhe batana jaroori nahi samjha? Apne Sanskar par itna bhi bharosa nahi tha?"

That was it! It was more painful than anything else. He wasn't complaining. He wasn't arguing. It was the heartache that she didn't feel important to let him know things. It was the agony that she couldn't trust him enough to make him aware of the things. A stream of tears rolled down from her eyes. She couldn't take it anymore. The next moment, she was in arms, circling her hands tightly around his neck, whispering, "Sorry Sanskar"

He took no time to do the same. Protectively wrapping his arms around her, he held her closer, letting her do whatever she was doing, letting her say whatever she was saying. He kept rubbing her back, gently. "I am really sorry" she kept apologising to him again and again.

"I trust you Sanskar. I trust you, more than myself, more than anyone else" she suddenly got out of the hug, pulling herself back. "You are not at fault Sanskar" she said, meeting his eyes with her tears still not stopping.

"It's me Sanskar. It's me" she whined painfully, lowering her eyes. "I don't deserve you, you deserve someone better" she asserted while her heart sank saying those words. She lifted her tearful eyes at him, "You deserve someone better, not me" nodding her head negatively and she fell down on her knees with an intense break down.

The severity of her pain ripped his heart out. He for a moment was taken aback with her outburst. He had not expected, at least not that much.

"Swara, look at me. Look at me Swara" his hands took her face in them as he kneeled down in front of her. Lifting her face, he made her look at him. Her eyes still couldn't meet his. More tears rolled down as he wiped her tears.

"I am here, you understand this? I am here Swara and I promise, I promise to make everything alright. All you have to do is just trust me. Can you do that?" he used his ever so loving tone with her.

Her shivering figure froze hearing him. "No Sanskar. You should leave from here" she said, wiping off her tears. Standing up, she turned to the other side, letting her back face him, "Nothing can happen now. Please Sanskar, for my sake, just leave" She literally pleaded him to leave from there, to leave her alone, to move away from her.

"Enough is enough Swara. I will not listen this rubbish of yours anymore" getting up, he said. He was tired, tired of being away from her, tired of her running from things, especially from him, tired of living a life without her. He never imagined his life without her for a day since the time she arrived in his life and two years, two damn years he couldn't see her, couldn't hear her voice. That was more than enough to break his patience level.

"Tell me, what's my mistake? Please, please Swara. You dont know, how I lived in these two years. I was only breathing, and that too in hope of finding you one day and when I did, you are asking me to go away? Don't push me into those dark lanes again Swara. This time, I won't be able to survive. I really won't" his words were icebreaking. He poured his heart out to her, mentioning what life was for him, in those two years, without her presence in it. It was meaningless. She completed him. Without Swara, there was no Sanskar. It was only Sanskar Maheshwari, rude and ruthless Sanskar Maheshwari.

"I love you Swara, I really do" he said, touching his forehead to hers as he leaned forward. Their eyes automatically got closed the soon they felt the blissful feeling of being with each other. They had not even heard each other's voices from two years...two long years which seemed no less than two centuries to them. It had been a real long, since they had been that much close to each other. The closeness was, a matter of fact was like reliving the time they had shared together in past. They had spent a beautifully amazing time together.

"Please don't do this... to YOU...to ME...to US. Please Swara" his tears fell from his eyes, having their touch to let Swara's cheeks as well. Realizing their position, she pulled herself away from him. He stared at her, wide opening his eyes. She felt suffocating. She felt like getting stabbed several times with a knife seeing his vulnerable condition.

"Sanskar" her soft voice made his ears pleased. Ages! After ages, he heard his name from her mouth and that sounded beautiful, just beautiful! She took a step towards him, raising her hand to wipe his tears but he backed off. "Not until you end this" he said, as his hand wiped off his tears, composing himself in front of her.

"Swara"

They turned their heads towards the voice and found Anisha standing there. Anisha wanted to greet Sanskar but she couldn't afford letting Swara know that she had called him there, not at-least till, they resolve their misunderstandings.

Swara turned to other side and quickly wiped off her tears. "Anii, where were you? You know how worried I was?" Swara asked, moving towards her.

"Bataya to tha na, but..." Anisha looked at Sanskar first and then at Swara. She took no time to sense that they both had an emotional outburst just sometime before. Swara immediately spoke, "Anii, he is Sanskar...and he is leaving from here in sometime" It shocked Anisha and Sanskar as well.

"Haan, le lo tum abhi bhi decisions akele. Sab akele hi decide kar lo." His sharp tone sounded cold-blooded. "And yes you are right, I should leave and I am leaving. Bye Swara. Tumhe apni zidd aur zindagi, dono Mubarak ho" the moment he uttered that he was leaving, it snatched the ground beneath her feet. Her knees went weak. She felt her throat getting dry. He glanced at once and picking up his bag, he walked out from her home, without turning back even once. Her legs couldn't move. She was falling apart with the steps he was taking away from her. Her soul was breaking by the separation, she herself chose for them. She wanted to call him, but no words came out within her. She wanted to run to him and stop him, but she had no strength within her to do so. She wanted to melt in his embrace, but she had no courage to do so. All what she could do, was to watch her soul leaving her body again, to watch her life leaving her again, to see the upcoming pain which was going to tore her apart after his separation.

- Part Four -

She kept staring at his retreating back and in no time, he vanished from her eye sight. Her vision blurred with the layer of tears which covered her eyes.

"Swara..." Anisha pulled Swara a little towards her, holding her arm. "You are fine?" Swara's state had made Anisha worried. She looked vulnerably broken. It seemed like something died within her, again.

"Swara..." Anisha called again, seeing Swara not responding anything. Swara closed her eyes to stop the tears to fall down from her eyes. She mumbled, "I am fine Anii... Don't worry. Good night" and she left the room, walking out. Anisha tried stopping Swara but it didn't affect Swara a bit. She was far away from hearing Anisha's voice that time. All what she could hear was Sanskar's words,

"Haan, le lo tum abhi bhi decisions akele...sab akele hi decide kar lo..."

"And yes you are right, I am leaving. Bye Swara...tumhe apni zidd aur zindagi, dono Mubarak ho"

His words rang again and again in her mind, quivering her inside out. Somehow she managed to climb upstairs, with her trembling legs making her way towards the terrace. Her hands clutched the railing of the staircase, as she didn't know when her knees would leave her and she might fall down any moment. Finally, her feet took her to the end point of her walking. A heavy deep breath came from her, realizing she had came to a point, far from everyone where no one was there to see her, where no one was there to judge her, where no one was there to hear the crying of her heart, where no one was there to witness the vulnerability of that poor soul. She felt a sharp, stinging sensation in her head and it started spinning. She adjusted herself on the floor of terrace, managing with the support of half-walls; build for the protection from falling down. Resting her back to the wall, she hid her face in the crook of her knees pulling them nearer. Her curled figure, with her whole body shaking soon shivered even more as her sobs started coming out of her mouth. It took no time for those sobs to get converted into weeps and at last, she started crying hysterically. She was crying bitterly for the first time over her loss, over losing him, over losing everything. For the first time, she was letting out her frustration, agony, pain and everything. Tears flood through her eyes with the great intensity and she started crying loudly. Everything, every pain she held inside him from the two years came out in once. It was the moment of her break down and it was heart-breaking.

"Whyyy" a painful scream finally made her ask to the one, we often refer as God', the one who is the creator of this universe, the one who is supposed to take care of his children, the one who is called as the saviour that, why she? She wanted to held the God' and to ask him that what she had done to deserve a life like what she was living... that what sins she had committed to lose people in her life.

His eyes watered and tears made their way through them. He could feel her pain. He could feel the terrible trauma she was going through. Her sobs pierced his heart. Seeing her this way, so broken, so vulnerable, inside clenched him with helplessness. He stood at the up-most stair, at the starting point of the terrace like a statue letting her cry, only giving her silent company without her acknowledgement.

"Swara"

She lifted her face immediately hearing his voice. Blinking her eyes several times, to ensure if she was hallucinating, him. She waited few moments for him to disappear just like he everyday used to, since the time she left him. Every night, she used to see him and he used to vanish in minutes, making her realize that he was not in real, he can never be. Her sobs had suddenly stopped for the moment her gaze caught him but a stream of tears rolled down her cheeks as she shut her eyelids hard, comprehending that she was merely imagining him. He is not real.

He rushed towards her, kneeling down to the fore her. Holding her arm tenderly, he caressed her hairs softly, whispering her name again, "Swara." Her heart refused to elevate her face. She did not want to look up. She did not wish to see her dreams getting shattered in front of her eyes again. She knew it was not he. It is not he. It cannot be he. He has left. He cannot come back. It is not he! She made herself understand.

Despite of her every attempt of making her stupid heart understand that Sanskar could not be there, she still felt an urge to look above and the only thing she wished that time was, to be it real and not a mirage. She wanted him to be there and not vanish once she holds him. He took her hand back from her hairs when he felt some movement from her. She slowly peeped out, raising her head above. Her lips broke into a bitter smile, "You are here again. Please, come tomorrow, not today. My heart is too weak now to lose you again. I know, once I touch you, you'll vanish just like you had in past two years and this time; I probably won't be able to take it. Go. Please, just go." She pushed him by applying force on his chest with her palms trying to make him vanish but to her surprise he didn't disappear this time. He was still there.

On the other hand, it was astonishing for him to know, that she was hallucinating him in the last two years. His heart went for her; tears flickered through his eyes seeing his lady love in so broken condition. He held her both hands which were resting on his chest, looking direct into her eyes. "Are you real?" she asked innocently, expecting him to say yes. Though, it was she only who had asked him to get out of her life but now, at this moment, she was far away from thinking that. Her mind, heart and soul could only cry over losing him again. The thought that he had stepped out of her life permanently, had made her forget every other thing.

"Yes Sweetheart. I am here. I am not your imagination. I am here, in real" he assured her, as his lips touched her hands in his grips. He loosened his grip on her hands, when she tried taking them out. She forwarded her shivering palm to his cheek, touching it as if wanted to ensure it wasn't a dream, it wasn't her imagination. He heard something... a really soft laugh of her on confirming that he was actually there, with her. "Tum sach me ho?" she couldn't help asking again. "Yes, Sweetheart" he re-assured her, placing his palm over her, on his cheek. Wiping her tears, he scooped her face in his palms, tugging her hair stand behind her ears.

"Stop crying. Please, I can't see your tears..." before he could complete himself she threw her on him encircling her arms around his neck, putting her all weight over him. His both palms automatically rested on floor in support of handling them from falling. Adjusting himself he pulled her closer, leaning to the nearest wall. His hand wrapped around her shoulder while she slipped on his chest, clutching his Shirt in her fist, crying uncontrollably. Her grip tightened on him, as if wanting to hold him forever and ever, not letting him move away from her even an inch.

"Shh...Shh...calm down, Relax Swara" slightly tilting his head, he quickly placed an affectionate kiss on her hairs, letting his lips to stay on her hairs for a while, silently conveying her through his gesture that he was there now, he was with her now, that she doesn't need to worry. His efforts in calming her down were resulting positively. Her sobs decreased slowly and she stopped crying, but still she did not left him. A sigh of relief rushed inside him, seeing her calming down. "No, please stay" she blabbered when he tried to break the hug. "I am not going anywhere, Sweetheart but please let me" he parted from her little forcefully as she wasn't ready to leave him. He lifted her chin with his hand, making her look at him asking, "You love me right?"

"Yes I do. I love you Sanskar...I love you" she finally confessed her love for him, battling with everything in her mind. She could not hold it back anymore. His face lit up in a contended smile, knowing already that she loved him and she still loves him. "Then, why Swara? Please, you at least owe me an explanation" he delicately said, asking her about everything which had brought her to this point in her life.

She stared in his eyes, which were pleading her to speak, which were craving to see the love in her eyes again, which were dying to hear it that what made her separate from him. "We can't stay together, Sanskar. You have to go" she lowered her eyes seeing the intense pain in his eyes.

"Why?" he roughly held her arm, when she started it all again.

"Because they will kill you"

- Part Five -

He instantly left her hand, when her words echoed in his ears. Closing her eyes in regret, she cursed herself for spitting those words. But anyways, now as it had came out. So she decided to enlighten him about everything. "They will kill you Sanskar and I can't put our love over your life. It's okay for me if we can't stay together. I'll at least live by thinking you are safe" her heart shuddered, shutting her eyes hard with the fear that took over her for him.

He was hell confused hearing her. "Will kill me? Why? And who Swara?... you are telling me everything right now" he almost commanded her to speak up now, about everything.

She sighed. Seeing that she has no other options now, she said, "Yes Sanskar. I'll tell you everything today. But after that you'll leave from here and move on in your life. Promise me?" she forwarded her hand to him, asking him to promise him to move on in life.

"That we'll see later" he in a moment shrugged her statement about moving on in life.

She knew it. He would never agree to move on in life without her. She left him two years before and in last two years, she was expecting him to find someone else and live a life with her. But no, he was searching her in those two years.

"Sanskar, Ayan... Ayan is Parinita Di's son" she spoke in a shaking tone, looking at him as he looked more than shocked.

"Parinita's son? Parinita, your sister right?" he asked, remembering Swara had mentioned once about Parinita when they were together. Swara not used to talk much about her family which had made him curious sometimes but he never forced her to open up about them knowing she wasn't comfortable. She nodded.

She continued, "You know that I never preferred talking about my family to you because I had my reasons for that. Sanskar. My mother was married to an abusive man. My father's entire family is way beyond orthodox. They are someone who, on the name of tradition and all, can do anything and by anything I mean anything. My mother has been the victim of domestic violence right from the day of her marriage. And you know what's more ironic? My mother's family is no different. Everyone is the same... just same, who considers women as their door mat, with whom they can do anything and they have no right to speak anything. So like 99% of the women do, even my mother let the things carry on as they have been so far. My father, whom I don't even wish to call by that, has been venting his anger out on my mother of his every failure, of his every other issues. My mother was silent till the time he did not raise his hand over me." She paused as she was getting emotional recalling everything again. He felt an insane disgust and anger for that man who had hurt his love and to be precise women like that. Women are indeed stronger than men but they are the most delicate, most sensitive and most vulnerable emotionally. He couldn't believe his ears that such people still exists, in today's world. He used to think that it was only past where men treated women like that but no, that day he came to know, even in today's era, there are such disgusting people who treat women like crap. He tenderly held her hand, conveying her silently that he was there, he was there for her, with her and he always would be!

She wiped her tears. "When I was 10, my father has beaten me. Mom wasn't at home and he needed someone to release his anger on so he used me as his punching bag. By the time mom returned, she was shocked to see black and blue marks of belts all over my hands, arms, back and legs. That was the moment; my mom slapped my father and gathered courage to file a complaint against him. But that was the worst decision turned out"

"What happened later, Swara?" he squeezed her hand realizing her haunting past was overpowering her as her breathing got uneven. "Cops called my father in police station along with my father's and mother's family. And that time, my worst fear came alive. My father's family of course supported him, saying he was a decent man who could never even raise his voice over my mom. But my mom's family also supported him and told cops that my mom was mentally unstable and that was why she often does weird stuffs. Can you believe it? They declared my mom as mental and cops shut the case"

Sanskar shut his eyes hard, trying to control the rage bubbling inside him.

"We returned back to home and that night my father mercilessly hit my mom in front of my eyes, threatening both of us with each other's sake that if we again even attempt of doing anything like that he'd kill the other one and that was the most terrible night of my life which still haunts me in my nightmares and that was it then. My mom again started bearing his torture for me and I couldn't do anything except watching fearing that he'd kill her if I do anything. Parinita Di is my father's elder brother's daughter. She fell for Adarsh Jiju and ran away with him knowing our family would never accept them. Our families kept searching them but only I knew where she was and I never disclosed it to anyone."

"When I was 17, I saw some drastic changes in my father. My father apologized to my mother for all the deeds he had done. He promised that he would never raise his hand over my mother. We were beyond shocked and more than that, we were beyond in turmoil whether to trust him or not but the whole next year he lived up-to his words. I was happy seeing my mother finally getting treated the way she deserved. I got admission in the Mumbai and my father easily agreed for me to study in Mumbai. I didn't want to come to Mumbai because I wanted to be with my mom but she also forced me assuring that my father has changed and there was nothing to worry more. And then I came to Mumbai. We became friends and eventually fell in love with each other. I knew, I knew my family would not approve us, but by the time I realized that, I was helplessly fallen for you. I decided to talk with my family, as my father's changes have given me confidence that he might agree. But one incident and I changed my every belief." A stream of tears escaped from her eyes. It was the toughest thing for her to do. It's never easy to remember the dark shadows of your past and to verbalize them.

His heart was getting heavy with her every single revelation. "Swara"

"It's okay Sanskar. I will." She knew he could never see her in pain and her condition was horrifying him. But she had to tell him everything, no matter how much it hurts her.

"Parinita Di was happy with Adarsh Jiju in Bangalore. I used to visit her if you remember I used to get off from college at least once in a month. One day, I like every-time went to meet her. Ayan was one and half year old then. My family traced Di and Jiju through me. Yes, they had kept an eye on me. That night, I stayed with Di as Jiju was in Singapore for his some work and next day we got news that Jiju is no more. His plane crashed and everyone died there. Jiji was so broken hearing it. She couldn't bear it and landed in hospital. I lost my sister that day Sanskar. She died with a massive heart attack."

Swara continued more telling how it was pre-planned. Adarsh did not die in plane crash. Adarsh was murdered, by his own brother. Sahil Sen Gupta killed Adarsh Sen Gupta, for mere sake of property. Sahil and Adarsh Sen Gupta were siblings but just for name sake. Sahil was an adopted child of Sen Gupta family but they always treated him like their own blood. But he got to know being adopted at the age of 12 and from that time, the jealousy about his brother started getting into hatred.

Mr. Manohar Sengupta, father of Sahil and Adarsh had left property for both of them of around five Crore. But Sahil wanted all the ten crores. He decided to make Adarsh sign those papers of transferring property. Adarsh had never boarded the flight which he was supposed to. Sahil was planned everything. He kidnapped Jiju in between the way and forced him to make all the property on his name but little did Sahil know that Adarsh had already transferred everything on Ayan's name. The moment Sahil got to know this; he hit on Adarsh's head in rage and left from there furiously to get Ayan. Adarsh, who was badly injured, blood oozing from his head somehow managed to grab his phone from his pocket and called Parinita. Parinita being in hospital, Swara picked it up seeing Adarsh's call and he narrated everything in short to her and asked her to leave with Ayan and Parinita soon from India. Swara was in tears hearing he was still alive but soon going to die and Parinita was in somewhat same condition. Doctors had clearly lost their hope on her. Swara felt Adarsh's voice lowering and shortening and it just vanished... and then she heard a call from the doctor, saying Parinita was no more. Both Adarsh and Parinita had left from this world together leaving Swara and Ayan alone in the world.

Swara did not even have time to cry over their death. She had to protect Ayan. She could not let the same happen with him what did, to his parents. She had promised her Di and Jiju to take care of Ayan. Swara composed her somehow, keeping her mind sane. She wrapped up her stuffs, and left for New York, boarding the very next flight with Ayan without informing anyone, fearing it would be on cost of Ayan's life. But Sanskar, couldn't keep away from her. He had been searching for her all over but couldn't imagine in his dreams that she would be out of India.

Swara gazed at him with her teary eyes. He was emotionally taken aback for a moment. He couldn't believe what Swara told him. It was so damn hard to believe that such people still exists who can kill their families just for the sake of money.

"I knew, Sahil would anyhow find me and Ayan for the sake of his money and that is why, I decided to leave India and came here to Anisha. I was sure, he would never find us here but he did. He did Sanskar." Swara cried squeezing his shoulder bringing his consciousness back to the current reality.

"He'll kill Ayan"

"He'll kill Ayan"

"He'll kill Ayan"

"Swara relax... just calm down. I am here and I promise, I won't let anything happen to you and Ayan." Sanskar promised Swara holding her, in a determined voice when Swara repeatedly start her blabber that Sahil would kill Ayan. Swara was scared to death but Sanskar's comforting words did their job. He felt her calming down slowly.

"But Swara, you said they will kill me' ... why did you say that?" that was something bothering him, since the time Swara had started speaking. She was yet to come there.

"As I told you earlier that changes in my father's behaviour has given me confidence but once incident and my every belief come shattering down. When I was on airport, Ragini called me... Ragini, my younger cousin... she was crying, she sounded horrified that time. What she told me broke every single piece of my soul. She told me, it was my father who called and gave address to Sahil of Di and Jiju. And when my mom tried calling me to say the same... he... he burnt her alive. He burnt my mother alive... and proved in front of police that she herself took kerosene as she was mentally unstable... All this happened in one day. One day and I lost everyone Sanskar. I lost my Maa... I couldn't even go back to my home because they would have killed Ayan too. I can't lose Ayan. I can't lose him Sanskar. He is my only family now. What I realized is, my father was never changed. He pretended to have changed just to let me go Mumbai and he knew I would somehow contact Parinita Di. He just wanted her address and to punish her for having betrayed her family and running away as per his thinking. But later, he came to know about Sahil and his hatred so he used him to take his revenge. The same way, he would never accept you. If he comes to know that, I have you in my life then he would kill you... because he is one sick man whose mind is blinded by the so called religions and their self made assumption to which they worship like anything. I would better stay alone all my life rather than risking anyone's life because of me. He will kill you the moment he gets to know we are together. He would never let me stay happy with the one I love."

Swara inhaled some air to breathe. Every time, she remembered that her father had killed her mother, she was sure, he would not think twice before doing the same to Sanskar and that mere thought was more than enough to support her decision of never contacting Sanskar. It wasn't just one thing but millions of thoughts, deep analysis over the events have had happened so far, linking and connecting different situations together so as to find how it was a master plan, possibilities and probabilities of how severe it can lead and what can happen, forced Swara to take the decisions she had taken in her life.

He just sat there, with her holding her hand. He would not blame her entirely for choosing to stay away from him because she chose it for him, because of him. He could exactly understand her and was so overwhelmed to see the extent of her love for him. She had loved him with all her almighty and was even ready to not see him her lifetime just to let him live happily. But one thing she failed to realize was, if she was not there, neither can be he. He could never be happy without her.

"We will always be together. I promise." She heard him say. It wasn't her fault to have had the family like hers. He could not and would not let her go this time. No matter what, they would fight. They would fight against all odds. He would give up his everything just to be with her. They would fight till every wrong gets right. They would.

Hello everyone, Harshada here. I know its been real long, being here.

Coming to this story, I guess I had posted two parts earlier but I don't remember where I posted So I am reposting those two chapters, with three more.

I am quite anxious... no not quite, I am a lot more anxious for this.

If you have reached till this note, then let me know your thoughts because I am really unsure to write further. I will just wait to hear from you all.

Love

-Harshada

PS: I had written first two chapter for SwaSan. But few weeks back, I was watching some ArShi VMs and was really moved by them. So the later story, I have written in my laptop by imagining characters Arnav and Khushi. [Couldn't help it, I write that way only.]I am changing the names here, so if you find any different names, then that is NOT a case of plagiarism😳 This story is solely written by me. I would be glad, if you let me know if you found any such.
