This post has nothing to do with the actors.
don't mean to hurt any feelings.
strictly talking about the characters keeping the likes and dislikes aside.

Laksh Maheshwari:
Contrary to the popular opinion i don't condemn him for breaking off his marriage with Swara. though marrying Ragini on rebound despite dida, Shomi and his own dad's pleadings is taking it to extreme but the guy was broken. let's admit it he had his own share of insecurities with regards to Swara and her love for him. she was way too free spirited for him to understand. and she was focused more on her sister, family and then 1001 matters than him.
him bad mouthing Swara and Sanskaar is understandable too. he loved them both. and both played their part in hurting him. knowingly or unknowingly.
but i didn't get his rabid belief that swara is wrong. he will not trust anything she says even if god tells me otherwise.
he failed his love (or idea of love) that moment when he mouthed those dialogues. he needed tons of proofs to believe in Swara's truth.
admittedly i felt a little sad when 'humhari aduri kahaani' played for those two.. swara and laksh. and their adhuri kahaani.
a young love lost forever..
then making way for glorious love of a lifetime.
then he started degenerating. progressively going downhill and hitting the rock bottom. though what he did to Ragini can be justified to some extent.
then came Kavya. if there was any justice in tele land.. the girl should have been someone mature, sorted and sweet. the guy despite his 1001 failings was a good guy and after he has been put through he needed a break. and a shot at peaceful life.
but..
he found his true love with Ragini and together they make a stunning couple.
but if i were his fan i would have wished him to get out of MM, make his life, grow up, understand life and the meaning of love.. and then earn and win his happily ever after.
but had to give it to this character.. his growth was subtle and sensible.
Ragini:
Ek Thi Ragini.
once upon a time my favourite.
so what if she was dark. not everything in life (tele life) is meant to be all white and boring. she was dark, she was diabolical, she was a fighter, she was vulnerable, she was hurt.. and all she wanted was her Laksh. nothing more.
i don't justify what she did but i could understand where she is coming from.. till the malkin track happened. what the heck was that? Ragini reduced to the likes of Kinjal ben.. the garden variety vamp.
money minded. gloating over others misery and pain. relishing her own siblings agony and all this after getting her Laksh and her haq. made zero sense for me.
then her sudden about turn and going on ek hazaaron mein meri behna hai mode. the turn was so sudden she probably needed a hip replacement.
and then she went eye blinding white. for no particular rhyme or reason.
then Laksh betrayed her.
THAT was the ashes moment for Ragini. she should have taken a good hard look at herself and realized how 'toxic' her love has been and how low she has sunk thanks to that obsession of hers.. and then rise from the ashes like proverbial Phoenix.
she should have apologized to everyone she wronged and chose to walk a dignified path of self discovery. and charted a whole new life for herself.
instead.. she went on victim mode.. again. 2-3 odd instances of goodness and voila.. her redemption is over.
and then she got married to her Laksh.
for a love story that has been this twisted, this hurtful, this obsessive.. it needed catharsis, healing, soul searching and heart cleansing; growing up and maturity; understanding.. and accepting.
but...
and now from that magnificent black queen she is reduced to meaningless puddle of everything that doesn't make sense.
the one character whose growth or graph makes no sense to me. and that's sad considering i so loved her once and was watching out for her self discovery and shot at living a life all over again.
but..
Swara:
little ray of pure sunshine.
her journey was more or less stable. from falling in the idea of love to discovering the true meaning of love... and finding her soulmate.. for lifetimes.
can't really pick faults in someone so pure. so strong. and someone blessed with intelligence and grit and gumption.
the girl has it all.
but wish she didn't indulge in double standards and hypocrisy when it comes to her family. especially her sister. that's one blind love.
when she loves.. she gives it all. but i wish she would love her Sanskaar more and love her sister a little less.
and don't love her daadi at all.
and i wish she would judge people on the same standards she judges her own family.
she would be perfect. but then again.. who wants perfect.
when flaws makes us so .. real.
she is a beautiful soul.
her journey was equally beautiful.
Sanskaar:
call me biased but i think this character has the best journey of all in this serial.
from being totally black then going stunning shade of grey and then being a very realistic shade of grey mingling with white.
the guy truly has it all.
strong willed, superb wit, intelligent, understanding, loving and the one who gives it all. and yet the one who takes no effs.
he was a glorious character.
but wish he acted differently druing MU track and kavita engagement track. watching silently while your soulmate is getting humiliated by outsiders... not done mate.
and being so majboor when kavita happened in your life.. naa.. not you.
and then Swara had to channel Prithviraj chauhan and rescue her sanyukta from unwanted marriage.
call me chauvinist but i would have preferred other way round.
but barring this occasional hiccups.. i say the journey of this character was spectacular.
he is not perfect. he is so flawed. yet he is the one i for one can connect to most.
wish he would go back to his dark knight mode. wish he would get to slay his own opponents in the business field. wish he would do more..
but whatever he did in this serial for quite a long time.. was something worth being in awe of.
Swasan... a beautiful journey from foes, to partners, to friends, to best friends, to lovers, to soulmates.
a very eventful one year journey for all.
them and us.
