Part 2

He slid the curtains of the room and let the fresh air come inside. He folded his arms near his chest and admired the environment. It's been 3 months to that' night. It's been 3 months, he's searching for her.

"Lakshya!" he heard and turned.

A girl was getting of the bed.

"Good morning, Smiley." He addressed.

"It's been the 4^th time; we shared my room, but not the bed." She gave him a sheepish smile.

He has been trying to divert himself from thinking about only Ragini, and for that, he had tried some uncommitted affairs. But it all turned out to be failed attempts every time. Whenever he went near a girl, the face of an unassisted Ragini came in front of him.

Smiley was half Indian, half Spanish. She was a very good friend of him and had tried to recover him of all the issue. But it never helped. It was his guilt or love, no one knows, but something was stopping Lakshya.

Lakshya drove back home. HE saw the house getting decorated. Wait, did he forget something? Oh crap! Its Sanskaar's engagement today!

Guests started arriving in the evening. Sanskaar and Lakshya received them. These two brothers were each other's family. Their parents died when Sanskar was 18 and Lakshya was 17. They were under Dr. Mehra's custody till the time sanskaar got eligible to handle the family business. Dr. Mehra was their family doctor and trustable indeed.

Lakshya shook hand with one of the clients, when he felt something different. He felt the wind flowing, touching every bit of his face, teasing him intentionally. His heart started beating faster and he felt uneasy. He automatically turned towards the main door as if a magnet attracting him. "

"Sanskaar, she is Ragini. My best friend" introduced Swara, Sanskaar's fianc.

Sanskaar stood there numb. Lakshya's eyes were moist and lips curved at corners seeing her. The function went on with Lakshya gazing Ragini and she avoiding him. This killed him from inside. Everyone danced with the dhin-chak songs playing, Ragini was looking at them with smile on her face, and Lakshya smiled at that. He involuntarily moved towards her and held her hand. Ragini was taken aback by his sudden move. He brought her to the centre of the hall and put her left hand on his shoulder. She just looked at him without any expression. He kept his hand on her waist and dance smoothly. All of a sudden, he started singing.

bebasi dard ka aalam, tum mujhe de do apne gham

Tears started dripping from Ragini's eyes. He wiped them off.

Lakshya twilled her. Ragini couldn't stop her tears. She was crying and suddenly she fainted. Lakshya held her in arms and tried to wake her up. Sanskaar advised to take her in.

After checking up, Dr. Mehra informed that Ragini is 2 months pregnant. Swara and Sanskaar were shocked, but Lakshya was more than shocked. He came out of the room and stood near the bar in the hall. Ragini is pregnant? With his child? Of course it's his, because consequences don't match of it being someone else's. He closed his eyes and recalled the moment when he had forced her and she was pleading to stop. Then the scene came in front of his eyes when she fell unconsciously in his arms some moments ago.

All of a sudden, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He was Sanskaar.

"I made her pregnant!" he said in a low, calm voice.

"How can you be so sure?" Sanskaar said gripping his shoulder. I mean, Karan was her boyfriend during college days and it can be possible that..."

"Bhai, she is 2 months pregnant," he cut him. "And I am sure it's my child because..."

"Because?"

"She was still a virgin when I..."

He couldn't complete. Sanskaar sighed when they saw Swaragini coming. Ragini didn't meet anyone's eyes and ask for leave.

"Ragini, I am your best friend and I have all right to know what's happening in your life." Swara tried to stop her.

"Swara, don't ask me anything." She pleaded.

"Ragini, what happened with you, and when? It can't be Karan for sure; you were never serious with him. Then, whose child is this?" he asked restlessly.

" Mine!" they heard and turned only to find a confident Lakshya standing near Sanskaar folding his arms.

"Lakshya..?" Swara was confused.

"Yes. She was my fianc few months back and..."

"Stop blabbering anything, Lakshya!" Ragini yelled before he could complete. "You have nothing to do with this baby!"

Sanskaar took Swara out of the hall, after Lakshya signaled him. Ragini was looking at him with much anger and disgust. He tugged her wrist and pinned her tiny figure against the wall.

"Leave me." She shouted trying to protest.

"You can't do this to me." He whispered in a husky voice. "It's my child and I have the right on it."

Ragini looked in his eyes and vice versa. His eyes had guilt and her lots and lots of pain. Tears made corners in her eyes as well as his. For a moment, Ragini just drown in his deep eyes, but then push him with all her force.

"Listen, it's my baby, only mine!" She warned pointing him.

"It's mine too!" he barked back. "It's ours!"

"Ours?" she laughed sarcastically. "Let me remind you Mr. Maheswari, we never made love, you..."

She was ashamed to complete. He looked down to his feet in guilt. She turned her back to him. They tried to hide their tears from each other. Lakshya moved forward and kept his hand on her shoulder. She pulled back in a jerk.

"Don't touch me!" She shouted. "It's my baby and dare you try to add your name with him!"

"No Ragini, I will not add my name with him. I want you to join your name with mine." He said in a simple tone.

"What do you mean?"

"Marry me."
